I work for my state and trust me when I say even with a lax dress code (and I mean there’s literally people here who work with crazy colored hair, tattoos and piercings) we’re still obligated to dress professionally. This would not fly. Especially with his nips poking out.

I remember a friend of mine being scolded by both a professor and judge for daring to think of getting a tattoo of barbwire on her wrist. The judge told her that "no other lawyer or judge will ever take you seriously in court with that on your wrist!" Of course that was 25 years ago...but still...how quickly the world has changed. 😳

As someone who worked in the court system for over thirty years, I've seen many people chastised for what they were wearing by judges. Some were tossed out of the court room, some were told to put on a coat or sweatshirt, a few were even found in contempt of court. However, I worked in a conservative county that held people accountable for their actions, unlike Seattle.
