Honestly Henna is one of my favorite Barbie villains. She's smart, deceptive, her character design is great, the list goes on...
The Barbie movie itself is in my opinion so much different than others kinda like the "Diamond Castle"
Barbie's character is more introverted, the world is super interesting gives me elves vibes (not that i read one of them just am thinking about it lol). The "Ken/Carlos" is also very unique compared to the others
Even kinda Minecraft lol as in not many different specie around just more land. It's definitely one of my favorites.
Sadly the second part didn't capture the in my opinion unique energy.

Fun fact: in my family there's one biggest fan of mariposa. Not me, not my sister. My Father. He loves it sm he always bring it up whenever I talk about Barbie. "Oh my favorite is Mariposa". Always XD

Not just the spanish one, the brazilian dub did that too, in portuguese "Mariposa" means literally "Moth", so they call her Butterfly instead lmao

@@spinalchords2099 I think they only used Chiara Zanni because Kelly Sherdian was already the voice of Elina. But in the next movie, there was no narration, so they changed it back to the "default" Barbie voice. Which sucks.
We love Kelly as she's the og barbie voice, but Chiara's unique as she voices the main lead

Honestly Mariposa was such a religion to me as a kid, I've always loved the way they designed the fairies in this title and the dolls, oh woah the doll is just something off a wish list, it's iconic, an inspirational movie especially yeah, she's weird, a day dreamer and hecc yeah a bookworm to that only book she adored so much.
Then came the 2nd movie of disaster, we don't talk about that.
The doll really was something else, I remember how much I used to love her design when I was a child. And then my friends' dog decided to use mine as a chewing bone... He was okay, the doll ... not so much.
I loved the second movie but not because of the plot but because of the Prince's scene in the library 😭😂
Hopefully they make another movie and undo whatever the second movie was. Like i love the animation style, the colours and the friendship trope but they need to make 1-2 more movies on this. Mariposa has such a big potential!

I all honesty though, I really like this movie. I’m glad that someone else got to voice the main character (and it was perfect), the side characters like Willa were actually important, and Henna is a pretty good villain.
I love Mariposa as a character, she’s cute and has a beautiful design. The skeezites were…very weird. I don’t know if they’re the weirdest characters I’ve seen in a Barbie movie, but they’re up there.
Man, remembering the old Barbie fairy designs makes me miss them, I used to love them so much, the butterfly fairies especially are the prettiest. Kid me loved all the colors.

Also I believe Mariposa is the only Barbie who has a different design from all the other Barbies. Usually, they'd take an already existing Barbie design and then use them for a "Franchise" or Barbie "Eras" which then works as a plot device that Barbie is actually an actress who works in these movies but Mariposa looks completely different.
