- In this video I discuss why I have recently sold my ATC SCM45A Pro speakers. There is a reason for doing this and this is by no means because the ATC speakers are not good. The ATC speakers are still my recommendation for music producers and mixing engineers. The prerequisite is a well treated - good sounding room. My studio room has a good acoustic treatment, but it was time to move on and change the studio speakers.

i tested the Kii too (without bass module) Both excellent speakers, but i bought the SCM45a pros for a little more natural sound to my ears

I prefer a pure analogue signal path ..DSP for me sounds unnatural. I also found it a massive relief to hear a conventional stereo mix after listening to surround sound mixes which again sounded synthetic.

what are some main differences/improvements in playback between the kii and ATC
The ATCs have perfect mid range, the Kiis are more transparent in the highs and lows (in combination with the BXTs).
I've tried the Kii's at my studio without the subs and was not convinced. DSP speakers sounds chemical, not real to me. They didn't have a lot of headroom. To each is own. Peace
Thank you for sharing your listening experience. In the end, it comes down to personal preference. With the BXT extension the Kiis sound more lively.
I’ve tried it also, yes, the mid was fighting for vocal, kick, bass… whois going to be out. Instead of atc was relaxed with a lot of headroom.
Is it a lot of work to get them in the right position? ...and what was the first audio track you played on it... and do the neighbors still love you?
@muziekkamer it was easy to get them in the right position. I used my ears and did a speaker position measurement afterwards. First song was Nina Nesbitt - The Sun Will Come Up. I heard details, I´ve never heard before in the song. . Next tracks to test the bass sound were tracks from DJ ANNA and ARTBAT. Haha, yes I have a good relationship with my neighbors. You can actually listen with a lower volume on these speakers so as not to upset the neighbors.

Please review those speakers. Im on the verge of starting a mastering service, and I am planning to get the Kii Three BXT instead of Focal trio 11 be + analog gear. I would love to know how much improvement were these compared to the ATC (That are in the ballpark of the focals). Thank you very much.

This is a given. My cat thinks the keyboards are her playground, I turn them on sometimes.. she plays great.
It's the room, not the speakers.
1. Invest in your room acoustics and fix the problems. 2. Find the best speakers for your room. I think it is not only the room, it is the combo that must fit together and it is also your personal preference, what you used to hear our what you would like to hear.
So....nowhere can I see what these new speakers are? Nothing in description, nothing I can hear in the video? It should be in your description.

Good idea! If you have enough space and budget I would recommend keeping both speakers.
