You seem to have a bias towards fluval products. I purchased a juwel 250 which came with a U4 woefully under powered. I purchased the 1620 for this tank instead. If the outlet was any shorter it would not reach the bottom. It is not to noisy. Cut the pipes to length with a dry fit, then out them in hot water for a minute and refit, once they cool, your set. The only drawback i have found is the total lack of flow control, it is actually to much for a 250ltr. So looking for a valve to restrict the flow from cannister to the outlet. As for the connection to the cannister not being like a fluval, erm its not a fluval? And though you wont admit it... Fluval are renowned for leaks on that very connection. On the 1620...the lever wont engage if its not pressed fully home. Heres to healthy fish. ,
I wouldn't go so far to say I have a bias towards Fluval, I would say that in my opinion Fluval along with other quality products such as Oase are a benchmark that you should hold others against and compare what you like/dislike about a particular product. I have no need to admit Fluval are renouned for leaks as in my experience have not come across that issue. I have had Oase leaks however. Thank you for sharing your experience with your filters however as it is by sharing our experiences that other can make better judgements :)
This filter looks great value for money I got the sunsun hw702a for 60new and it's great but the betta will be a better made one but it's double the price still cheap for what u get
Just a quick question about this filter, I just picked one up 2nd hand & found the UV isn't working, so took it apart but it didn't seem to have a sealing ring for the black plastic cover (which you removed) which I thought the cover would have, when I tried to run the filter the output pressure was useless & constantly drawing in air, So do I need a seal on that plastic cover?, , , , ,Many Thanks.
@@BigFishLittleFishAquaticsThanks for that, cant seem to find an exploded diagram of the unit to confirm if it has a seal on the UV cover, parts suppliers don't seem to list one as a spare, If it does need a seal it looks like i'll have to make my own!. I was hoping you might remember seeing one but thanks anyway!.
High I’ve just purchased a juwel Rio 240 second hand. The internal filter has been removed so I was thinking of going for one of these canisters. Do you think the 1620 would be enough for a 240 ltr tank? I’m stocking fancy goldfish. I like the look of this filter because it has the added spray bar
Hello, 1620 would be enough for a 240 ltr, the filters have good flow, but that wouldn't be a problem for your goldfish with the spray bar :) - you may need to make some adjustments to your Juwel hood to get the fittings in, as I know Juwel usually have small entry points for pipes & fittings :)
@@BigFishLittleFishAquatics Yeah the previous owner has already made some mods to the hood. Thanks for your reply. Looking forward to getting the tank set up now.
Hello, If it is a pretty loud noise I'd say it might be something caught in the propeller or air pockets trapped that are causing the issue. Give it a quick shake and move around to see if air escapes, failing that take off the top and check nothing is getting into the propeller. :)
Hi I recently bought the 2000 ltr UV version. It is very loud from set up.Even though it's new, I've swapped out the impeller for a new one but it's still loud with no trapped air.have you or anyone the same issue with this filter . And what was the solution.cheers
Hello, Mine are whisper quiet, with four running in the same fish room I can't hear them at all (over the air pumps) - If I find someone that has had an issue with the noise will let you know :) If it is very loud, it may be worth getting a whole new replacement as it might be something very wrong.
@@BigFishLittleFishAquatics cheers thanks for your reply. I forgot to mention it was a replacement fiter but still noisey as hell.id bought for my living room tank .lve since replaced it with a HW 704b which while it only ommits a low hum that can't be heard above the TV its still much quieter than the Betta 2000. Don't get me wrong, the Betta in my opinion is far better build quality. I'd noticed better taps, tubing, double O rings .And a more powerful built-in UV ,whilst I was installing it .I'd rather have it over the HW 704b if it weren't for the noise issue. Would loved to have the noise issue sorted and reinstall it again .I did lube the impeller as well......Anyway cheers ,great video, and if anyone has a fix I could try please post worth a go on an other wise gr8 filter .
Filters have only been running for a little over a month now, not turned on the UV bulb yet. However the tank is looking clean, flow is looking great, better than my fluval equivalent and the filter itself has loads of capacity for filtration. Mine certainly run quiet and I have three running in a small space without noticing the noise so I'd say all good.
Not sure, sorry! You'd need to check with Betta or your retailer where you bought the product. If it doesn't have the hole on the inlet pipe id wager it doesn't.
thankyou this video was a life saver as the written instructions wasn't the most clear on this filter!
You are welcome!
Pop the tubes into a cup of hot water and its much easier to get the tubes connected.
What a rookie mistake I made :) Thanks for the tip, will be sure to try in the future!

Sounds like you need a seal, best to speak to a local supplier and get them to find you a spare part I would say :)

Do you keep the yellow part on the UV tube bit? Thanks.
Yes, I have - I believe it keeps everything in position, where it needs to be :)
Put the tubes in hot water and then, pull them straight !
Great tip!
Oh i just said the same and then saw your comment 😁 it worked well when i put my filter together.

Hi, my 2000 model as a pretty loud humming noise. Do you think I’ve done something wrong? I have put my own media in so possible is filled to much?

Give it a quick shake and move around to see if air escapes, failing that take off the top and check nothing is getting into the propeller. :)
Is it normal when unplugged and I unclipped the lid loads of water is running out sides? Scared to lid completely off
@@jacquelinemcmillan2793 I did this lol. You have to close the valves before removing lid
Would u reccomend this filter for Roma 200lt tank for 4 gold fish or a decent internal from Aquael.
Thanks
I see no reason why these filters wouldn't do the job :)

How do you find this filter compared to the fluval? Thinking of swapping my 307 to a betta 2000. Are they as quiet as fluvals?

Just purchased the 700 but didn't come with a surface skimmer. Are these only included in the larger models? Thanks 👊

Sadly the 700 model does not come with a skimmer but other models above the 700 do
