- Adine Roode has a wealth of knowledge in the field of conservation, having spent her life surrounded by wildlife, and having been heavily involved in the rehabilitation of orphaned and injured rhinos and rescued elephants. With the growing number of elephant orphans in South Africa, Adine used this knowledge, as well as her palpable passion, to set up HERD, which rescues, rehabilitates and releases orphaned elephants back into a wild environment so that they can have a second chance at life.
The world is blessed to have Adine Roode!

Dear Adine,
Your HERD videos warm my heart, relax me, tickle my funny bone and educate me. I had no idea that an elephant culture even existed. Their tenderness for one another and their carers assures me that good relations can be established with other elephant herds. We are blessed by you and your team's knowledge and wisdom.
Thank you, M
Adine 👏👏
Khanyisa 🐘💞🌻💕🐘
So amazing. Thank you.
Thank you so much Adine Roode to make this great loving place for elephants to safe them and give the elephants a freedom place in safety and give them all the care. It is very togetherness with the wildlife animals as human. We are now in 2021 november and see all happy elephants in Herd and little calf Khanyisa just 2 years old we have seen the sadness when Khanyisa came to the orphanage you stay there every day sleep with Khanyisa and give her milk together with the carers. That was the moment I respect you Adine very much the hard work and the love for the elephants and wildlife. I love the Herd Hoedspruit Jabulani

What you do is wonderful ♡
Like many others, I am profoundly moved by Adine's motivation and dedication to elephants. She is a gift to be mightily treasured.
Watching the latest videos of new calf Fenya, at first so dreadfully traumatised by her horrendous wounds and experiences, gradually relax and start to trust Adine and the carers is utterly heart warming.
Thank you HERD for sharing these moments.
It would make me happy to see Adine get internationally recognised for her work to save elephants so Adine could be brought to the attention of mankind and they could watch the good that she does

Those who care wins
Elephants need a family and they're social beings, and conservation efforts are challenging requiring different approaches to be successful. This woman has an opportunity to rescue orphans, integrate them into a herd, and she deserves our full support to achieve this important conservation goal.
Adine is truly inspirational..we could all do with her insight into how to connect with animals.❣️🇬🇧🏴
Thank you Adine for all that you do, and for all that you have taught us about these beautiful caretakers of the earth. I have loved elephants ever since I saw a special about them when I was a little girl and I am a grandmother now. They are my animal soulmates and my heart breaks when I see what is happening to them. You are their guardian angel. Namaste.

Thank you for promoting elephant culture , care and rehabilitation... hopefully someday all humans will become a part of this....❣️
from Claudette: Adine you touch my heart so deeply with your love and amazing care for these orphaned elephants--love what you said about once you look in an elephant's eye and realize they trust you--yes this would be such an honor! Thank you so very much for your beautiful and important ( in fact crucial) role in these elephants 's lives!!! I find myself wanting and needing to watch the HERD videos each night and of course little Khanysia ( and the Jubalani herd ) and the precious moments which you and the dedicated carers spend nurturing them are so important to me each and every night. When we are past Covid, I dream of visiting all of you in Africa and deeply intend to do so. Many many thanks from my heart, with love and Light , Claudette
Adine! A tiny woman with a big heart who makes a huge difference in many elephants lives. Thank you Adine.
God Bless You Adine .You are such an inspiration and your love of these magnificient animals is so shared with everyone you come in contact with. What an angel these elephants have in you.I love all the videos of the Herd.Keep up your great work.
God Bless you Adine. Little Khanyisa, who is not so little anymore is thriving thanks to you and the other carers at HERD. All that love and dedication just shows in Khanyisa's blue eyes and her pretty pink skin. And now our little man Phabeni is being looked after by you and both his human carers and elephant carers. Good on you Setombe! You good girl, you. Thank you and God Bless you Adine. xox
A remarkable woman. Her compassion is all-embracing, inexhaustible, and contagious.
Beautiful and wonderful life's purpose u have Adine. From baby elephants to adult matriarch s of the adopted herd , I love the way u bond with them and they u . Always ready for a trunk hifi !! ❤️❤️
My admiration for Adine never ceases to grow. The carers are up there as well. Her letter today speaking of her feelings following Phabeni's death floored me. I wish the whole world felt as I do--especially those who have the financial means to contribute to a cause that is crucial to our own survival as a species. Much love and hugs to the entire HERD team.
Thank Adine for the love and caring you give to these precious babies. I wish I could be there with all of you to love them also.i am so grateful they have a place they can call home and feel safe, loved and cared for. Thank you so much. May God bless all of you and keep each one of you safe. 💕
You are blessed Adine..you are earning a lot of good karma..
Thank you for being you Adine
Hats off to you Adine 👏👏👏 such a wonderful lady...God bless the HERD family 💕💐💗
I hope our UK’s Prince William (who loves elephant conservation) can highlight your cause. He should award you Dame-hood for your work, then HERD will really be put on the international stage.
🍼🐑❤️🐘💚Blessed soul!💚🐘❤️🐑🍼
Thank you for the love you so generously give and keep on giving.....an inspiration!
We all love you Adine!!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I think we are all very jealous to..lol lol .. I believe we would all love to be there with you holding that baby elephant and giving it the love and security she needs right now to get thru this healing process and to create that trust back to that poor creature after enduring such horrible torture. It brought tears to my eyes when I saw the first video of her rescue. It truly broke my heart to see that. The immense courage to want to live after such a crime is extraordinary. What is it on this planet that is so deeply inbeded in us all that makes us want to stay and go through the things we do when we know in our hearts this pain and torture doesn't exist on the otherside. Why do we stay when we know this??? The reason i believe that whatever it is, it is so much more important , and powerful than enduring this life.
God be with you Adine !! Much love and light to you, your fantastic team, and all of those majestic creatures under your umbrella of love and care. ✌♥️👋🙏🙏🙏🌞
Thank you Adine for the wonderful work you do with these absolutely amazing elephants. I still miss Phabeni 🙏🙏🙏
Adine is an Angel. She’s got a new baby calf Fenya in her care now. In addition to albino Khanyisa. God Bless Adobe and her HERD org. ❤️🐘

Our hero!
