The low angle paddle is great for flat water much like a greenland paddle. But if your working ageist current or surf you need those bigger blades on a high angle paddle. I think all white water paddles are high angle. The answer to this depends on the kayak your using. If your using a 4/5 meter sea kayak low angle's a good way to go, the sea kayaks glide more. On a sit kayak stick with the high angle. My pyranha fusion sit on kayak can be a bit of a pig at times and you really do need those big 700 blades. If you are going low angle look a lighter better paddle over £300. Something like a Lendal voyager or Werner camano. Yes I know it feels like your paying more for the paddle than the kayak but the difference compared to a cheaper ones under £200 is unbelievable. 1/3 of the weight and blade design take all the work out of paddling. I use a Celtic 4 piece paddle and I can just switch the blades over depending on how I feel.

I actually bought the Stingray in this video with a view to taking that one. But in the end, I took the high angle Winnerwell!
