Dude, I just wanted to say thank you. You’ve taught me so much about beach fishing and I’m out all the time now catching fish thanks to you!! All the best to you and your family.
I am an audio-visual learner. I used to live and fish the Chesapeake Bay and NEVER PAID FOR FOOD! Now, I live on the west coast. Wedged between a beach and bay. I'm learning how to work these tricky devils. Thank you for all your information and outstanding shooting!
I could just watch you guys all day😁I know it sounds weird but a lot of times I watch just before bedtime the sound of the waves and just watching you guys fish is so peaceful it puts me to sleep❤️ I wish you guys had a reality show it would be just as good as the Chrisley’s😁
Thanks , my family is going to the beach and Ive never surf fished, been watching your UA-cam videos. Hope we can catch some fish. Thanks for showing me how.
When I was a kid my dad and uncle used to make us kids catch sand fleas for them. We had no idea they were using them for bait. It was just fun for us to catch them.
@@HeySkipper, yes I get my son and niece to catch them while fishing radio island here in NC, catch alot of puffers and croakers, but I let them keep the big ones to play with. Also a bit of salted anything keeps the little buggers on the hook. Love the channel and keep on catching man. Life is good. Hope you guys are staying safe , much love from NC and DE.
I look forward to your weekly videos I learn something new each one. Hope to see Erin more in future videos it is good to see a woman into fishing like she is and it shows the young girls that they can do it too,and how fun it is. Thanks for all you do. And Tight Line's .
awesome video! i personally prefer using baits that matches the enviornment like clams off the sandy beach is one. plus its so epic wen the target species and species gets hooked onto your hook so easily especially wen you use a specific bait which also helps to avoid unwanted species.
So in south Africa the first fish you caught we call a shad and its one of the best fish to eat And the second one is called a kob and they can grow really big
His second fish was a Drum, (as he said,) related to Cob in SA and Mulloway, -in Australia. USA, - Red & Black drums from shore. Freshwater Drum species in USA, some say not as nice as sw Drums. They all have large otoliths, - ear balancing stones! "sand fleas" are mole crabs! 🎣🐟🎣
Lol, never heard about dead fish slapping technics to catch sand fleas, usually just doing hand digging technics 🤣 I will try it with dead fish next time. But I need to catch fish first to have dead fish. So, I will use digging technics first 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for videos. Wave sounds in your videos are really peaceful. I feel a breeze on my face and salty taste on my lips while watching your video. Can’t wait to get to OBX for summer break. 👍
how i've always caught them is when a big wave recedes, it pulls the flees out of the sand, so as soon as the water is gone you see a bunch of holes where they burrowed, just pick up like a 2x2x4 inch hole near the wholes and you will find one. if you have a shovel just scoop up that bit of sand and throw it in a bucket, then do it with a bunch more holes and then sift it. they also make sand flee rakes which are pretty much just a crab trap with a stick on it and you pull it through the sand. these work well too.
Hello thank you for this new video once again really pleasant to watch. Could you please show the sabiki technique how it is practiced at sea because I find it enjoyable to practice on board like your dad does. Very good weekend ☺👍
Hi Skipper! In Peru we call sand fleas “muymuy”, it’s what most people use as bait, BUT we only use the ones that are molting and throw back the ones that are hardened. You can tell if they are molting easily: their shell is soft and they are a bit translucent. Fish bite on the molting ones 100x more than they do the hard ones. It’s worth picking through to find the molting sand fleas. You have to catch them in bulk though in order to find the few that will be in molting state. A mesh bag or basket makes it much easier. You just shove sand in the bag and then rinse it. Within minutes you have pounds of sandfleas to pick from. Here’s a video of some Peruvian fishermen catching and picking through sandfleas and choosing the ones that are molting: ua-cam.com/video/fbZZei_QcXE/v-deo.html
Hey brother my names Manny, and I’m new to your channel. I’ve just recently subscribed and have learned a great deal from you. I too am a UA-cam content creator, I can honestly say, that I really do appreciate what you do. As a novice fisherman/and hobbyist, I just want to say, thank you for sharing! I’ve learned what not to do, but also how to do it right, or if I may say, the “#Textbook way!” 👊🏼😎 Keep up the good work brother! Please don’t stop doing what you’re doing. ~ Manny ~ 👊🏼😉🤙🏼 🐡 🐟 🐠 🎣
Hey man great tips ever since I've been watching you I've actually been able to catch fish no joke. Have a question have you ever tried going to a Mom and Pop's pet store and buying feeder fish as bait?
Here's a tip for you guys on bait. I was station at Cherry Point NC when I was in the Marines and we use to fish off the piers down there. The best bait for bluefish is "bluefish"! No one else would be catching anything and we'd be pulling them in left and right! Just cut up your first bluefish and use him for bait. We use a fluorescent (orange and yellow) bottom rig and then put a strip of bluefish on each hook.... NON-STOP bluefish all night long, two on at the same time! It's like they go into a frenzy when they smell their own flesh!
Great job love your post. Couple questions I’m looking at a 5000 size real using 20lb braid What color of braid would be best for Denton florida surf fishing? Also what weight of flora carbon and color for leader and how long? Thanks keep up the great job.
Skipper it's getting close to my sub day and nice catches when are you going to do some fresh water fishing I miss watching those videos like the make your own hook one and the smallest fish
Great video again! Just a few comments that might increase your bites and hookups. Firstly at about the 6:10 mark, I see your father using 5 hooks and all seem to have the same bait and bait/hook size. This is close to pointless in my opinion, unless that option is by far the best to get the fish you want at that time. When you use multiple leaders/hooks rigs, it is by far the best to use different baits and/or bait/hook sizes. That way you increase the chances for bites. You should have the largest hook/bait closest to the sinker and then have smaller baits/hooks the further away from the sinker you go. By having different kinds of bait and bait sizes, you give the fish more options and you increase your chances for offering the fish what it wants the most. Another thing I often see you do, is overcrowding your circle hooks with bait. You might not realize it and many don't, but you increase the bait stealing and reduce your hookups when you overcrowd a circle hook with bait. You should NEVER almost fill up a circle hook with bait as you often do with a J-hook. If you do that with a circle hook, you hamper the circle hook's ability to "hookup" the fish that bites. The less that is hanging onto the circle hook and filling it up, the better it hooks the fish. Don't be tempted to thread on 2 sand flies+ a piece of salted clam and maybe some more on a circle hook as I saw you did at about 4:00. I know you catch fish that way, but I am sure you would get more hookups by using less bait threaded on your circle hook. One trick I often use when I want to use bait that is loose and easily fall off, get stolen or is difficult to get attached to the circle hook without overcrowding the hook, is a netted elastic bait bag that I attach to the circle hook with a thread/line, in a similar way as a carp fishing hair rig. I specially use this bag if I want to use fresh mussels and/or clams as bait, or when I want to use multiple baits on the same hook to avoid overcrowding the circle hook. I often make these bags out of the elastic plastic bags onions often are packed in here. I am sure it will work great when you want to use sand fleas as bait as well. I also very often use this hair rig when I want to bait with fish heads or whole fish. I highly recommend that you try not to be overcrowding your circle hooks. I also highly recommend that you try using some sort of bait bags with a hair rig. And lastly I highly recommend you trying to use a hair rig when using larger baits like a fish head or a whole fish on a circle hook. I promise that you will increase your hookups a lot. And what can be better than that when you are fishing? Looking forward to your next video! :)
I used to do this when I was young, just hold the tail of the fish while its laying down the sand, those sand fleas will come to that fish guarantee 100%.

In California we have sand crabs. We use a net with the surf and move our feet to catch them in the net.
Thank you for entertaining boy! Here in Boston, fishing is dead for now . So jealous 😬😂🍀
Good advice thanks! Love your family and that's a nice camper pad on top of your truck,I've pondered building one.

I found they work great for single hook hand fishing though but yeah for surf fishing you want a tuff bait. Great video
Good advise your leaning some good things there , all ya need now is some big fish and your done .
