They look really great - I think this really showcases how good of a miniature you can achieve with speed paints, even with a limited palette and cheapo brushes (I'll take a cheap synth brush over a Kalinsky sable hair any day of the week!)

Been taking a break from warhammer to paint some DnD minis. It’s liberating kind of, because I don’t feel like I have to try as hard. Just slap chopping some goblins and demons feels so good

i've been using cheap synthetic brushes for a while. the main workhorse brush i've got is a 50 cent synthetic brush from walmart that is fantastic at painting all the contrast and metallic paints i want!

John love the monsters good sir, but my favorite is always gonna be the dwarf. for the brush thing, if you get brush soap or brush conditioner you can make your pound store brushes last longer and give a point to the tip of the brush at the same time. anyways cheers🍻

There is four weird minis with axes, that were done in a purple in a few pictures, they seemed similar to Orcs, so how would you make them different and stand out from the Orcs?

Love your vids, another great one thank you. I'm starting out fresh, doing my first space marine army with speed paints. I'm interested in how you do your shading with the air brush army painter line on top on the speed paints. I did a couple layers of blue on my space marines with speed paint and on the large round shoulders it came out a bit blotchy, thinking I could shade it with a slightly light air brush color and help also smooth it out at the same time? Again enjoying your content :)

I use these for 80% of my painting. Saving my squidmar and artists opus for details. Royal and Langnickel Round Taklon Variety Brushes Classroom Canister Set These are about 25c per. Normally about 10% of the brushes are put straight into the texture paint / glue bundle as they don't have a point.

Love it! Great video, as always 🙂 I, too, like trying cheaper brushes for most of my Speedpaint stuff...haven't figured out, yet, if the savings per brush works out against how often you have to replace them, but I only use the "good brushes" when I'm not using SP's nowadays :)

I tend to ruin my brushes so £8 or more for a brush is sub-optimal. Though I recently found KUM brushes and those are about a fiver and decent quality. Definitely sufficient for my skill level.

Ive noticed lately that you’re skipping the grey when you’re drybrushing. Am I imagining it?

I really like your videos and your whole attitude. Personally I am not a huge fan of slap chop, I know controversial, but I don't think it looks nearly as good as normal painting. But then I am also the guy who stopped playing age of Sigmar and went all skirmish all the time because I did not want to paint big armies anymore. I feel like we are turning the hobby too much into work. If you have to have an assembly line and SPEED paints and do "jobs" in "batches", perhaps it is time to change the perspective instead of learning another speed paining technique. Sure, GW would like us all to paint huge armies. The same models 40-120 times... but is that really fun? For me, personally the answer is no.

I can strongly suggest not to go too cheap on brushes. U might find decent ones, but often they loose hairs and don't have or hold the tipp good. My da Vinci maestro Kolinsky brushes cost around 7 EUR. And their neo synthetics line u get 4 pencils around 12 EUR. The durability and how the paint flows of the brush is well worth the money. Paying big money on minis just to ruin your painting time to save a couple of dollars doesn't make sense l.

I use 100 yen brushes. I'm a battle-ready get-em-on-the-table painter, so make of that what you will. I'll cut the brushes down with scissors if I feel the urge.

Don't put the brush in your mouth lol. Paint isn't good for you.
