Installed one today in my 2021 Honda Pilot. Loving it so far. While the installation wasn't difficult, unplugging it was a bit tricky due to the lack of sufficient space. Your video was very helpful as I didn't get any dash lights on. Thank you.
For those of us new to many of these products, you might want to start by telling us what the product does in the beginning of you video. However, love your videos.
I bought one for my 2016 Tacoma and loved the difference it made. BUT!!!! it constantly brings in the CEL (Check engine light) which requires you to get a code reader to remove the CEL alarm. Once that alarm comes on your engines goes into a "Limp Mode" !!! It got to the point that ended up removing it entirely. Appears that they have to work the bugs out still!!!
I find my RL paddle response is “sportier” once I turn off the ECO button. I generally have the ECO mode on for normal driving, but easily turn off ECO when I need quicker response. How would this device benefit me? I love to hear people’s thoughts.
It changes the pedal response. ECON button deadens the gas pedal, expands the shifting of the transmission as well lowers a/c output. Do not use on hot days. S MODE (sequential, not sport) does not allow skipping of the gears. The Honda 9 and 10 speed skips gears to save fuel.
I ordered the auto stop delete last night and am seriously considering the pedal commander. Especially if this is designed to give smoother acceleration without ramming down into lower gears. I’m generally light footed but accelerate in higher gears. In your opinion is this beneficial for this type of driving habit. So glad I found your site and will be visiting on my next trip to Lake Lure, NC.
Just ordered this, and was wondering how is your fuel economy with this and the s-vcm controller? Do they work well together? My main goals is fuel economy, with the high gas prices, but I also want to have the ability to unlock the truck’s power if needed. Any suggestions?
So is it with it? I am trying to get best mpg and also tow my 3k boat. Mainly I use eco mode now and when tow I take it off. It does everything no problem. Should I do vcm delete and should I do pedal commander? All I am looking for is best mpg with smoother ride plus good towing performance
No matter what you do you’ll get 10 to 13 mpg towing. DO NOT use ECO when towing and keep it in D4 (with six speed) or S (sequential mode). All Econ is going to do is deaden the gas pedal, expand shift points, and lower the A/C output. The S-VCM will keep all cylinders firing all the time. Pedal Commander (I love) you can fine tune your pedal response rate. I use SPORT -1. I hope this helps, what you are doing is going to get you the best MPG. I live in the mountains so my MPG is garbage. Lol. Thanks for watching.
If you don’t notice, your good. But the main reason is engine longevity. The cylinders not firing make the engine wear quicker per many Honda techs over the years.
I have a 2021 RL, and am very interested in the Pedal Commander. Stock, there's a lot of times where the throttle response seems way too sluggish. I like the response that "S" sport mode gives, but dislike the far higher shift points, it just accentuates the already crappy rev hang. It seems the PC will alter the throttle response (like Sport mode), without changing the shift points...is this right?
@@CampingRandy Id like better pedal response especially when im going 50mph and decide to floor the pedal, it takes about 3-4 seconds to adjust. Will the commander void the factory warranty?
Pedal Commander is a plug and play device that alters the programming output of your accelerator pedal. So the engine can engage and respond quicker or less than stock depending on the settings you choose.
I look forward for the future review of this product. For a year I was thinking about getting it but I heard mixed reviews after having it a few months later. It’s nice to see a person do a Ridgeline review of it. Keep up the good work Randy!
May I suggest that when creating video on a new piece of equipment you actually describe what the item is and what it is supposed to do? Secondly, perhaps a few words on how it works (if you know) and whether it's compatible with similar vehicles like the Gen 1 Ridgelines.

Good advise. I will do that. I guess sometimes I think folks have already heard of the products. Thanks for the input and for watching!

No issues with Honda.

The ECO button makes the RL undriveable. Turn it off and see how the RL meets your needs.
What’s the benefit of using/having. New to Ridgeline but anxious to learn all I can and gain improvement s. Thanks. BTW, my Ridgeline is the RTL-E.
Complete game changer of pedal response of the vehicle.

What’s great about the PC, is you can fine tune the settings up & down.

7:05 before you find out WTF a pedal commander is for 😂!
Thanks for watching

@@CampingRandy so do you see a benifit of a vcm? I don’t have any shaking like many ppl have so I am just wondering

@@CampingRandy that’s what I was worried about
Just make sure the rear cab is not leaking water...it's a big problem most people have no idea about on the 2nd gens.
I have heard that. Checked mine a few times. No issue as of yet!
Could you please go into a little more detail about this. What exactly is happening and where ….Thanks ..
I will be doing a follow up video soon.
Where do leaks generally appear? Guessing rear cab brake light.

We have available at THE RIDGE STORE! theridgestore.com/Pedal-Commander-Bluetooth-For-Honda-Ridgeline-Passport-&-Pilot-p383838504
I bought my 2021 BE that had one of these already and I end up just keeping it off most of the time. I'm trying to get that gas mileage
Understood- thanks for watching. Thanks for the videos via Instagram.
How is the pedal commander now 1 yr later
Still going strong. It’s there when I need it. Just a lush of a button.
Update the website link please

What happens when you change the vehicle drive mode from normal to sand, snow, etc. ?
The pedal Commander just effects the gas pedal range of input.
@@CampingRandy Id like better pedal response especially when im going 50mph and decide to floor the pedal, it takes about 3-4 seconds to adjust. Will the commander void the factory warranty?
@@allborosnyc4544 no it will not.
Has anyone tried this on a G1 Ridgeline? And how did it performed?
We’ve sold to gen1 owners and they love it!
What is pedal commander?
Pedal Commander is a plug and play device that alters the programming output of your accelerator pedal. So the engine can engage and respond quicker or less than stock depending on the settings you choose.
Thank you
Mine also mounted to the left of the steering wheel by the vent
Did it work?
Yes - love it for pulling the camper. Off-roading, camping, and everyday driving. I do shut it off every once in a while.

I will sure do another video on the update. So far I really like the throttle response than the stock settings.
@@CampingRandyany update?
Still working great. Highly recommend.
I guess I’m supposed to know what a pedal commander does. I was looking for a trailer brake commander. WRONG PEDAL?

Way too much missing info for me to continue any thoughts of getting this thing, get help with your videos.
Tripode 😂
Lol

May I suggest you not suggest how to make a video. Google the product and read about it.
So it appears the cleaning swab ruined the finish on your dash? I think you really need more info/testing of this before trying to sell it
That’s why I’m test it - lol
@@CampingRandy - So did it ruin the finish on your dash? Did you reach out to the manufacture? Did they change the type of cleaning swab?
It made it chalky looking. I will.
