People criticise this one because they say it smells simple or like a designer... But its bright and clean and mass appealing and frankly, one of my most complimented and loved fragrances, like people will say things like I smell "divine"... Percival is definitely a banger!
I really love Percevil in the summer, it’s beast mode and gets tons of compliments. It’s not terribly complex but just a niche quality version of Abercrombie and Fitch Fierce. It projects for around ten hrs no problem
I agree. When I wore this on holiday in Abu Dhabi, it won my full respect. Hardly any summer fragrances have significant longevity and projection, but Percival just kept going even at the beach. It is a true summer stand out and super versatile
@@hocineted7594 I see u asking this question around these interviews and honestly your best bet is to buy the samples in the smallest decant/sample size possible, if you aren't able to get out and try them in person. If you can try them in person at a mall or perfumery wear no cologne that day and spray one spray on each wrist, and walk around at least 1 hr sniffing each hand here n there to experience the fragrance throughout its maturity to the basenotes(drydown)...i say only one spray because they are fairly strong and can both work their way up to your nose at the same time and overwhelm you. So 1 spray each wrist, take a smell here n there and compare give your nose a break for a little while and see how u like them. No one's opinion is better than your own, I have went by other recommendations and did blind buys with some success and some horror...I wish I just spent some time and or $20-30 to just try it myself. Thank you Austin, Blood orange is really natural and has some very expensive raw materials In it. The smooth dry down is from the transition from the Citrus accord to the Jasmin to the wood base. Musk and fixatives. It tells a story. You dont get that with a massive amount of aroma chemicals.

I love your take on percival. This house is one of best niche brands. But dont worry they have quite few orientals. I hope you will do review on pdm Galloway, Pegasus and Guerlain Vetiver Extreme. Blessings mate one love.
I can understand this. I feel that I am the best at orientals. So I tend to go there. Ive tried to do different things. But I ware my oud collection all year around. Maybe there perfumer is the same. You stick with what you personally love.
You are absolutely correct brother. I like aromatic scents, fresh citrus, woody spicy, gourmand and vetiver both light and dirty. I want to try more orientals. Aaron this house is using great natural resources and ingredients. High quality luxury niche products. Love it. I need to try some of your perfumes very shortly. I love your take on this house you absolutely know good perfumery. I love Guerlain, Hermés, Parfums de Marly etc.
Good to hear ur thoughts as usual! Maybe some *Montale* fragrance reviews?? They frequently get referred to as loud fragrances. I quite enjoy Honey Aoud!
@@Jhart44 i think its alright, depends on how you use it it. if you gonna have for all day it might not worked all time, or it will. i havent had any issue with it.
PdM... still one of my favourite houses... Percival is quite nice. When I smelled it first, I instantly thought this is something for my dad! Going to give it to him next occasion. For me it’s missing a bit of tobacco. If it had tobacco I would definitely buy it for myself. I’m sticking to Herod, Pegasus, Layton, Sadley in that order.
Really interested about the ratios being used in perfumery. Do you think that the Golden Ratio (φ approx 1.61) applies in perfumery? It has been used extensively in other areas such as architecture to give an optimal visual appearance.
this one really smell like, rich football menagger (my opinion by tester)its parfum for suit.its more for serious stuffs.Never smelled something like this before. Its nice to have testers!
PDM Percival is a great clone to Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce. PDM has me convinced that's the fragrance I have on. It's very pleasant and I can tell it well put together
@@AaronTerenceHughes Lovely idea. I will watch it again tomorrow.🦄 Today i really wish i could have done that but i got a few sprays of nasomattos black afgano just before i saw ur Video Upload. The combination would have been kinda weird. 😜
Great review. I wasn’t a big fan of this one either. I enjoyed Galloway over this one. My sample of Sedley is in its way next. Overall this is my favorite house.
I love your opening greeting.....how are you Mr. Hughes?? Can't decide between Herod or Carlisle for my first PDM what are your thoughts? Quite cold in Sweden nowadays so bare that in mind my dear sir🥶❄️
I’ll have to try this 1 and see if I like it for a “dumb reach” fragrance. I’m not the biggest PDM fan but if this smells good fresh and performs I could literally wear it year round where I am.
Thank you. I love my ouds massively. Oxytocin, Boss bitch, onyx and Oud are my loves. I never ware any of my citrus. But Operations unicorn in my factory loves my citrus.
Thankyou Aaron for your fantastic reviews. I was a bit undecided about spending money on PDM because I've heard that they smell generic and if that was the case I didnt want to spend silly money on a fragrence like that. You have changed my mind thankyou. Btw, I think if they chopped your arms off you would become mute! 😁 Take care and stay safe my friend.
I think PMD is really well crafted, It lasts and projects. Not an easy thing to do. I love the progression of the story massively. I think its worth the Money and smells more expensive then it is. I totally agree with you. I go in to each review thinking dont move the arms are its distracting. But once I engage with the perfume brain the arms start. What ive found interesting is if I love something I look high and the arms go crazy. If I dont like it the arms dont move much and my facial expressions show it. I was unaware I was like this for years. Crazy isn't it. I actually thought I blended in...
Hi Aaron! Hope you're having an amazing weekend and that you're not working too much.. Exciting to see your posts about your factory! A question, are there any notes that to you just doesn't go together no matter how you manipulate them chemically?
I work all the time. We hope to get staff so I can have a few days off a week. This week I had two half a day off. I slept....... I dont know. Slut should not go together. But I wanted to push some filth into a citrus fragrance. I think its how you deal with concentration and respect what your doing. But its easier to put clean musks with citrus and woods to create a clean feel and animal musks with orientals to create a different feel.
I like Percival but almost exclusively bc of it's performance. It gets a little sickly after a while and it definitely does smell like something from the 90's. It has this almost jelly, jammy sweetness and I have no idea what would be causing that..Maybe musk and mandarine? Either way, I like Percival but I use it sparingly
I feel exactly the same way , it becomes a little sickly . I wear it because it lasts a full work day and only fragrance I receive compliments after 8-9 hours . Smells pretty average to me
Go with this then, imo layton is bit too much for warm waether, percival is perfect. But out of two, I prefer layton, its so tasty. There you go have my opinion that you never asked for
@@branimirmarkohrgovic6602 No, I appreciate the reply! Will take this into consideration :) I feel that way about Oajan, dont think my nose is that well attuned to appreciate all of the well crafted notes, and can smell overwhelming. Same with Kalan. Anyway, thanks for the reply. Good day!
You already have the best Parfum de Marly fragrances. They’re much better at the cool weather scents than they are at the fresh warm weather ones. Layton is better than Percival in my opinion. Percival smells like Fierce or Mont Blanc Legend. I found it disappointing. I strongly disagree about who this is for. It’s for men in their 20’s, not older men like ATH said.
Greetings from TX. Percival and Galloway are really nice summer fragrances from PdM. Given your love for darker fragrances, have you tried Layton exclusif? Btw I'm really enjoying Santal extreme, and the real surprise was Patchouli Noir (as there is so little information anywhere about it). Keep unicorning!
Both are very dark and intense. The dry down with Patchouli noir goes into a chocolate accord. Its really interesting to watch it morph and change. Santal is a lovely song clean sweet concentrate. Thank you for supporting my work.
Hey Aaron, thanks for all the fantastic reviews. Love your presentation and style. My favorite frag reviewer above all. My question is this: I already have Layton Exclusif and Greenley. Love them both lots. I was between this Percival and Sedley next. Your thoughts? Have a great day! And btw my very favorite current house is Xerjoff even over Creed at the moment. Next up will be Clive Christian! 😁
@@stevebachmanrealestate143 right. I have only smelled it once at the counter. It wasn’t earth shattering but it was just so likekable. Ganymede is such a strange and incredible fragrance! It doesn't smell like any other fragrance I know. I liked it, until I realised It smells like the inside of a burned out radio speaker, that's been haunted by a spooky orange, and sprinkled with violet leaves.
Yes. I actually visualise the maths of perfumery when Im creating. I only noticed I did this when I redeveloped my Oud. I was able to create the fragrance by sticking to my ratios. The more perfect the weighing is the more perfect the perfume is. I can only make a concentrate once a day as the concentration is really intense.

That is not a secret. The pdm ceo himself says there are sythetics built in the composition. That doesnt have to be a bad thing. Percival does definitely not come of like a chemical mess. I Think its beautiful.
Amazing. PDM is very inspiring as a perfumer. You cant give a better compliment then that can you. Your work is so outstanding I want to push myself to be better.
Wearing Percival around the house today and thought I remembered ATH doing a review a while ago. It was stuck on 999 likes.....so I fixed it. Now at 1K likes :)

Another fantastic and insightful review Aaron!!! Would love to hear your thoughts on Mancera Red Tobacco 👍
It is incredible, and beast mode performance... But the first 20-30 minutes is a chaotic mess, but after that just gorgeous
@@maikjansen2332 Indeed it is... my absolute favorite 😁
I like it! BUT find it too „Designer Mainstream“ for the Price
Yes!, this is exactly what I thought when I first smelled it.
The performance is mental though.
Good to hear ur thoughts as usual!
Maybe some *Montale* fragrance reviews?? They frequently get referred to as loud fragrances. I quite enjoy Honey Aoud!
I will try them. A new house for me to discover:)
I really wished your last parfums de marly review would be on Kalan. It's so polarizing and different, really would like to hear your opinion on it
Winter 2020. I promise. Otherwise this channel will be a Tom ford and PDM love festival.
This is my signature scent for the summer, perfumes de marly blows my mind. I have three PDM now, its going to be wonderful!
Heard it sucks in projection and longevity, can you attest to that?
Bellum omnium contra omnes 100%. Can’t say too much about this. But you understand why I’m 2020/ 2021
I really encourage you to try habdan, from this house. It has oud, rose, etc...
I will. Winter 2020
this one really smell like, rich football menagger (my opinion by tester)its parfum for suit.its more for serious stuffs.Never smelled something like this before. Its nice to have testers!
PDM Percival is a great clone to Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce.
PDM has me convinced that's the fragrance I have on. It's very pleasant and I can tell it well put together
Yes it smells expensive. I have a sample 🙏😳
@@patrickbateman4541 did you wear it to the dorsia
Love to listen how you describe scents i already own and love.💙
I hope you put what I review on and smell with me. I always love that. Interactive smelling channel
@@AaronTerenceHughes
Lovely idea. I will watch it again tomorrow.🦄
Today i really wish i could have done that but i got a few sprays of nasomattos black afgano just before i saw ur Video Upload. The combination would have been kinda weird. 😜
Great review. I wasn’t a big fan of this one either. I enjoyed Galloway over this one. My sample of Sedley is in its way next. Overall this is my favorite house.
Hi Aaron can u plz review OUD SILK MOOD (extrait de parfum) from MFK ..I would love to see your review on that
Do you think it smells like fierce?
The maths / ratios ideas were fascinating!! Any books or education out there on that?
Did you do a PDM Carlisle review?
I love your opening greeting.....how are you Mr. Hughes?? Can't decide between Herod or Carlisle for my first PDM what are your thoughts? Quite cold in Sweden nowadays so bare that in mind my dear sir🥶❄️
I’ll have to try this 1 and see if I like it for a “dumb reach” fragrance. I’m not the biggest PDM fan but if this smells good fresh and performs I could literally wear it year round where I am.
I have two favourite fragrance hous. No Joke but You and Parfüm De Marley. Onyx, Zeus and Arabica is so beautiful!
Thank you. I love my ouds massively. Oxytocin, Boss bitch, onyx and Oud are my loves. I never ware any of my citrus. But Operations unicorn in my factory loves my citrus.
@@AaronTerenceHughes I hope to get them in the near future
@@urbangergely I expect as we expand and get new staff we will produce more and we will be able to get my work out there
Thankyou Aaron for your fantastic reviews. I was a bit undecided about spending money on PDM because I've heard that they smell generic and if that was the case I didnt want to spend silly money on a fragrence like that. You have changed my mind thankyou.
Btw, I think if they chopped your arms off you would become mute! 😁
Take care and stay safe my friend.
Great advice for budding perfumers here ! You’re a good un ☺️
I love Parfums De Marley, my favoutite house.
Mine to. The next ones in the Autum / Winter will be Pegasus.
So funny - my favorites are citrus aromatics. Love how subjective scent it
I don’t have Percival but it’s loved in the Frag community. Nice T
new tats? awesome vid!
Not for a while. Once covid is over I will be getting some removed
@@AaronTerenceHughes I really hope you get staff cuz that doesn't sound good.. But thank you for replying :)
@@Sagalarsson96 My pleasure
Please review Galloway, Darley, and Nisean please
Nailed it, you always get good easy to reach for scents. Hard to go wrong tbh
This is lovely. :)
Smells pretty average to me
@@Kadaf1 is it better than sedley ?
@@hocineted7594 I prefer Sedley , more fresh and better smell
Lovely video! Could you review Amouage - Reflection Man, next?
Im sure I have done that one.
I have 10 different PDM. PERCIVAL is the bottom of my list of go to PDM colognes in my collection.
This smells amazing and reminds me of Hugo Boss Red, very nice…!
Got Oajan, and Herod. Might have to add this or Layton, something for warmer weather!
Want to sample yours
I need that shirt ☮️❤️💰
Spanish Lavender = Lavender Stoechas? There are so many lavenders it is hard to keep them all straight.
Thats why perfumers have a favourite supplier. I love my lavender from one supplier. Jasmine and Rose from another.
If you had to pick one, would you go with Greenley or Percival?
I personally LOVE Greenley!
@@stevebachmanrealestate143 right. I have only smelled it once at the counter. It wasn’t earth shattering but it was just so likekable.
I’m struggling with that as I have sooooo many “fresh scents” and percival does for sure offer complexity as it dries down.
How long is greenley lasting on your skin?
It’s like looking at a giant wall of TVs at Best Buy. They all look so damn good and when you finally get one home you know it was the right choice. Go to a place that sells decants and buy a 5 ml and try it for a while. Are you on Facebook?
@@stevebachmanrealestate143 I am, I’m actually in frangrance brotherhood right now and a trusted seller has both percival and greenly for 170 at 4.2oz bottle. I’ve gotta pull the trigger. 😂
Do you have Prada samples? That’s my favorite house I’d love to see those reviews :)
I do not! But I really should
One of the best houses period imo. Solid review! Random question though, are you a Virgo by any chance?
Somebody send Aaron a sample of GANYMEDE by Marc Antoine Barrois.
So many houses to discover.
@@AaronTerenceHughes You should deffo try Ganymede.
Ganymede is such a strange and incredible fragrance! It doesn't smell like any other fragrance I know. I liked it, until I realised It smells like the inside of a burned out radio speaker, that's been haunted by a spooky orange, and sprinkled with violet leaves.
You described the math involved in perfume and I visualized fractal patterns 🤙👍🤙👍
Yes. I actually visualise the maths of perfumery when Im creating. I only noticed I did this when I redeveloped my Oud. I was able to create the fragrance by sticking to my ratios. The more perfect the weighing is the more perfect the perfume is. I can only make a concentrate once a day as the concentration is really intense.
which Parfums de Marly would you recommend for warm climate?
Sedley
İ hope you review hacivat by nishane
Percival literally smells like spray can axe it smells very synthetic and it’s quite headache inducing.
Greetings Aaron from Malaysia.... How does one get hold of your range of fragrances from this part of the world.?Love your work and don't ever stop being YOU🦄

Just ordered a sample of this ☠️
What about a colab with Jeremy Fragrance
Which one you would like to choose for summer from these :
1-de marly percival
2-acqua di parma Quercia

What’s your thoughts on green Irish tweed?
Jay Roberson I won’t review the creed house. The level of death threats I get go crazy when I do. So unfortunately the last two reviews were the last. Creed lovers tend to be obsessed! Sorry.
Aaron Terence Hughes No worries. Thanks for the reply!
@@AaronTerenceHughesCreed is good But ist doesnt Performes and lasts Long, so defo Overpriced
bravo, nice video I think the perfume has a lot of synthetic notes. thanks
That is not a secret. The pdm ceo himself says there are sythetics built in the composition. That doesnt have to be a bad thing. Percival does definitely not come of like a chemical mess. I Think its beautiful.
This is a great mix of naturals and aroma chemicals. I think its wonderful
Is Percival considered a “blue” fragrance?
It's blue but also a classic green aromatic musky fragrance in Abercrombie style
An amped up modernized Fierce.
Great review!! We reviewed this as our first video because we love it!! 😎😂💯🔥
Amazing. PDM is very inspiring as a perfumer. You cant give a better compliment then that can you. Your work is so outstanding I want to push myself to be better.
Please review pdm herod or carlisle Aaron :)
In the Winter. Ive reviewed Herod. :)

200 euro for another Platinum/ Fierce/ Legend?!! Thanks
Wearing Percival around the house today and thought I remembered ATH doing a review a while ago. It was stuck on 999 likes.....so I fixed it. Now at 1K likes :)
Non fragrance related, but your hair looks better this way! A little bit longer
I agree. Its by accident. I can cut the back and sides but not the top so it just grew. Its also steel grey now. Which out of all the colours is the one I will keep. One good thing to come out of Covid I suppose.
Smels like vintage A&f love it
