I always koosh-koosh couple times on my wrist to test it, and all the retailers give me that judgemental looks. I meant, skin test and paper test smell differently. And I don't wear paper. 😂

I get a kick out of it every single time. One time, when he was reviewing clubb de nuit intense pour homme, I counted 15 sprays. It was glorious! 😆
Pegasus is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I'm not sure why but I find myself thinking about it when I'm not wearing it and I get excited about wearing it when I am.
I'm quite curious now to see how Aaron feels about the latest PDM release of Pegasus Exclusif. 😀 The PDM house has some absolute stunners IMHO.

Yes!!! His love for Layton Exclusif and his appreciation for Pegasus implies he just may fall in love with Pegasus Exclusif. I wasn’t initially blown away by PE but after repeated wear I’ve realized I like it far more than the OG Pegasus.
I actually prefer Pegasus over Pegasus Exclusif. But Exclusif smells good though
It is amazing to listen to you just smelling something and then explain exactly what compounds and materials used. I can not even distinguish different regular smells from a fragrance so it's mesmerizing.
Oooh, I just discovered you a few days ago, but I really admire how you described this perfume! I admire that you gave this perfume a true analysis and gave respect to the art form even though the perfume is not to your personal taste. THIS is what I like in life- appreciation for art in all its forms! I am primarily a visual artist with an education in art history, but I have great love for perfume, and and this type of review is what I have been looking for.

I smelled the clone from armaf. It is super weird and hard to smell. Like too sweet that you can't eat another piece. IDK if this original is like that

Apparently Armaf Craze smells very very similar. Maybe check out the reviews. I would have bought this myself, but for this information. I’m desperately trying to find a decent niche that hasn’t been cloned!
I’ve had this on my radar for a while but as soon as you mentioned about it having resemblance to a blue fragrance - that immediately raised my interest as I love blue fragrances. Need to get hold of a tester before spending big on a large bottle. Thanks for the review

I’m a huggeeeee almond fan and this is definitely one of my favorites.
This, Confetto, and Italica are my favorite almond scents. I feel like I’m super lucky bc anything with almond it just burstsss out for me
Also the way you sprayed so much 💀 I can spray it once and it’s a huge bombbb. It’s very strong.

Pegasus has the most magical dry down. It becomes a very classy fougere in the dry down.
This was my first niche perfume purchase I ever made. It was my first perfume love... I just love gourmands! The new darker, richer Pegasus Exclusif is going to be my next sample I think, it sounds like a bit of me. Thanks for your honest review of Pegasus!!

Awesome review. I wasn't sure you'd like this; it is part of PDM's metallic collection..Another artistic fragrance house is the Nishane (it's Turkish). Their most popular fragrance is probably Ani.

I dont know why but Carlisle remembers me of JPG Ultra Male. I used Ultra Male quite some time. 2 days ago I tried carlisle on skin and really thought I mixed the test kits (both in 5ml sprayer). But it lasts 24h+. Even after I took a showe I could smell it.

I just got the masculine sample pack of Parfums de Marly from Fedex. That includes a 1.5 ml sample of Haltane, Greenley, Percival, Layton, Carlisle, Pegasus, and Herod. I got to pick two free samples for placing an order, and I chose Althair and Layton Exclusif. I kinda wish I would have gotten Sedley, but I'm pretty happy so far. I just ordered it two days ago, and got it shipped for free, and it's cool how they give you a $50 coupon toward a full bottle for ordering the $50 sample pack. I don't know if I will order a full bottle, but the special coupon will definitely increase the chances.

Fantastic! I love Pegasus. I’d be really interested to hear your take on the exclusif version of this. Like Layton exclusif it’s darker, dirtier and a little more interesting in my opinion. Keep up the brilliant work.

FINALLY! I knew it wouldn't be for you, but you can appreciate exquisite fragrances that you might not wear or make yourself. Usually the ones you don't like personally don't "bliss you out"- even though this was a very minor bliss attack (lol) it surprised me (nothing like the full-body orgasm from Side Effect.) My favorite fragrance of all time. I was so happy to hear all the wonderful aspects about it that you were mentioning.
This house is so great as it has something for all tastes as a great price. All safe and legal! I respect PDM massively

Please consider the whole Pierre Guillaume Collection, he is able to make me travel despite any lockdown and he is capable of making works of art much more sophisticated than rum, lime and coconut to depict a lost island. I adore how he took me from the Japanese lush vegetation to the dryier seafront of the french riviera (the latter an idea of mine) with Komorebi, to the middle of the indian ocean just a couple minutes before the rain with Fleur de Foudre (yes he did use Aldemone), almost got me lost in an equatorial forest with Jangala then at the end of the day I chilled for sunset in Goa with Jasmagonda.
I love how you separate the scientific, objective assessment from your personal likings. You're pretty amazing and just a beautiful being. What is your favorite Parfums de Marly product? I don't have any of them as of yet.

Powerdy vanilla. Milky almond. Metallic. Don't really care for this one for myself but can appreciate it. Wearing Layton right now.
Was this reformulated. Whats the oil concentration? I see the added less oil in other reformulations

Hi Aaron. I got 6 samples of De Marly’s in the male discovery set. They all smell good and expensive. Longevity and performance are great. But for me personally only Sedly was worth spending the money on.
You may want to try Herod, if not done already.
Really tried to like my sample, but can't. There's something about that almond sweet metallic that just turns me off and gives me a headache. Much prefer Layton and Carlisle.
This fragrance is what i need in the collection - wish i had the ability to buy it closer

I just smelled this for the first time and I can definitely see this being worn in summer, I didn't think "fresh" but kind of green or transparent or floral but either way, I think it's usable in summer
For me it is a gourmand perfume, Pegasus is a best seller worldwide .
The only gourmand perfume I like is coffee , chocolate and orange based period. Excellent review dear Aaron.🥂

Parfum De Marly is now my Favorite Fragrance House! It was Tom Ford but Parfum De Marly kicked them off the Top...Love this House! I have Carlisle...Layton...Herod....Pegasus... and Layton Exclusive....

I bought it but find this metallic touch somehow a bit heavy. I also have Amouage Reflection Man, wich smells similar but lighter and brighter. Fucking Fabulous from Tom Ford also goes in a similar direction.

Great insight and spot on. I just picked up Pegasus a few weeks ago and I'm looking for summer version of it and have been looking at both of those fragrances. I've heard amouage is amazing. I smelled fabulous when it came out and was underwhelmed but that was on paper and not on skin. I plan to sample both.

Parfums De Marly is my favorite house. Love seeing your thoughts on all of these fragrances! Really think you'd enjoy something along the lines of Carlisle or Habdan as well after learning your tastes from seeing all these videos.

I love PdM, yet this is my absolute favorite of the house
Not a fan of it myself but agreed on the clean scent, it was a bit too.... i dunno baby powdery style fresh for me. Gonna wear it to try & see if i like the dry down more
Bergamot and blood orange are my favorite citrus notes, I know blood orange isn't in this one but it's an amazing note 😍

Hey A'aron, would you wear this as a summer fragrance? I've recently sampled PDM Sedley and I find it super wonderful but I find that it only lasts a couple of hours for me :( but I've tried pegasus aswell so I'm wondering would this be a good replacment? Thanks.

Hello Aaron, great review, as always. But I have also one question which you, as a professional chemist and fragrance artist could answer. Is it possible for parfume decants to lose quality over time? There is little discussion in our little fragrance community, majority says that nothing happens to the juice while transfering from bottle to decant. I think it spoils the juice and over time these decants are not usable, becouse something wrong is happening to the substance inside (had few decants that over time smell like knorr stock cube). What do you think?
That depends on how it’s kept, what’s inside and what they have added to extend the shelf life. But short answer is yes.
@@AaronTerenceHughes Thank you very much for the reply! I was thinking that some chemicals may evaporate during transfer (by sprying it to smaller bottle) and becouse of that decants may have shorter shelf life, or be less rich.
@@tron012 that’s why you should always get sample sizes from the company. We make up our samples fresh and straight into the 1ml and 10ml.

Aaron can you go into more detail about what type of fragrance works best with darker skin tones? I am hispanic and have performance problems with many fragrances
Also, you mention using 8-10 sprays for some of your fragrances, 4 on damp skin - can you explain the reasoning behind this and go over your technique?

I bought 125 ml of this and got a free Kalan sample along with it. Kalan is way more down my alley and now i wish i got that one instead as Pegasus is way too clean and boring for me. It's good but uninteresting.
It honestly smells like a creamier and almondy version of prada l’homme to me.
Can you do a video explaining on the fragrance in relation to light skinned and dark skinned? I never understood when you said this is perfect for lighter skin. The longevity won't be as long if I was darker skin? and why?
Would love to get your opinion on PDM Kalan and Galloway. You mentioned a "hot iron" smell with Pegasus. That epitomizes Galloway to me. I've heard people compare it to warm paper from a printer, super peppery. Kalan is also really spicy but also sweet. I hated it at first, smelled like overheated electronic, but started to love it the more I smelled it

Will you ever make 100 ml fragrances? Neon is becoming addicting and killing it in compliments and I don’t think 50 ml will be enough!
For me this has some kind of metallic smell and this is funny because of the look of the bottle.
