Here are my notes y'all ( 1 step is corrected thanks to a queen in the comments)
DIY veneers:
Etching gel
Dental adhesive
Dental sealant
Eye protection
Curing light
composite resin syringe and cotton pads
1) Use cotton ball to protect gums
2) Wipe tooth surface and ensure it is clean and dry
3) Screw tip on etch and apply thin layer on tooth surface (always rinse tooth etch immediately if in contact with gums)
4) Leave etch on for 30 seconds and rinse with a light stream of water and dry with some air
5) Prime tooth with sealant to protect the tooth underneath and blow warm air on it
6) Add thin layer of dental adhesive . This is what will make the composite adhere to the tooth
7) Use a small piece of composite from the syringe, flatten with fingers so it's paper thin.
8) Carve desired shape with dental tools
(Work on one tooth at a time rather than try covering all teeth at once)
9) Put on glasses to protect eyes, cure teeth for 30 seconds under curing lamp
10) Make sure there is a space in between front teeth. You can add a little more composite and cure to your liking
11) You can drill your teeth to ensure the surface is flat and smooth (like acrylic on your nails)

I was a dental assistant in the air force and this isn’t exactly the correct way but she isn’t really hurting anything honestly. I think the result was really nice too. I keep seeing people saying this is dangerous and it really isn’t. The composite probably won’t last as long though.
Why not and what would make it last longer ?
@@SoufsideNe she is using the acid etch incorrectly. It's an important step. You should rinse the etch off with a gentle stream of water. Dry with a gentle blast of air. Rubbing with wet cotton rolls just smooths out the rough surface the etch created for the primer and composite to adhere to. But like I said, she didn't do anything dangerous

I’ve gotten dental resin done professionally to fix a smalllll chip and it didn’t even last long :( How long does it typically last? It’s a small chip but it’s in my front teeth so it makes a difference.

I needed this because in actuality all of us can’t afford it or insurance doesn’t cover that aspect.. and having bad teeth, causes depression, not wanting to smile holds you back from lots of things, and you don’t fully enjoy the quality of life. This may not be the better way, but people don’t understand how dental care is put on the back burner far as insurance coverage. A lot you of you who are saying “just go to the dentist “ probably aren’t going, and if it’s so easy direct us how you got teeth done so affordable.

I am begging y'all to please go see a state LICENSED dentist. Etch is ACID and can BURN your skin if it gets anywhere except the tooth. Also, she is not using any type of separation between the two teeth, meaning that the teeth are officially STUCK together! There is no way that she is flossing between them, which can cause cavities to form on the teeth in the future. Please don't do this. You'll eventually end up spending money at the dentist anyway trying to fix it. DIY is very popular, but when it comes to your actual health and body, please see an expert. :)

Ok but during quarantine & lockdown patient were advised that if a filling, crown or tooth broke. They should purchase a DIY kit to patch up the problem until dental practices were up & running again. Yes her terminology is wrong but she’s not actually causing any harm to her teeth as she’s not removing any of the tooth surface with drills but just only adding to her tooth.
Rush_xo it does cause harm to your teeth! My dentist wouldn’t even do it because it’s almost impossible to get a perfect seal everywhere on the tooth when you’re doing a flat surface and it’s just a cavity breeding ground that you cannot clean. He didn’t even want to fill my molars bc it would change my bite slightly and have a risk of the same type of thing just less.

problem with that is most dentists won't work on something another dentist has done to you, yet alone something you have done to yourself :( I got fucked up by a dentist, he filled my teeth so ugly , so i went all around the city to 4 different specialist offices and they refused to help me and said i had to go back to him to remove what he put on my teeth, it was a nightmare. In the end i had to go back to him to remove it -__- so if anyone does this themselves u gotta have patience like surauchie and hope u dont mess up
kawaiichie they do that with braces too . I remember when my orthodontist got shut down It was a nightmare we had to call around and wait months for someone to take them off. Smh . But I’ve had a regular dentist mess up my feelings and cap and I just went to an endodontic and they fixed every the other dentist did.

Yooooooo she is serious. I’m a dental nurse and this got me shoooook.
A few things -- I bought mylar strips to separate teeth and help shape tooth being worked on -- one tooth at a time. Also purchased mouth dam and cotton rolls to keep etch from burning soft tissue. There is also a product to remove caries (decay) from the tooth should you need that before filling if there is more than a chip to replace. Good luck!

You definitely are creative, but this is causing more damage than you are letting on.When this quarantine is over , go see a dentist. Some may even be open now. Biggest thing is decay may be under teeth that you cant see with your naked eyes, and destroying your teeth under the composite you put on and cause whole lot of problems you don not want.

If she had prior tooth decay problems yes it may lead to other problems. What she did in the video is a standard procedure with dentist. She basically capped her tooth which is the protocol for a chipped tooth. She did not drill and filed the composite not her actual tooth and then she went on to seal it. I don't understand why everyone wants to waste money on going to the dentist when most of their procedures are out a date and most of the time do shotty work which causes you to go back half the time.
I respect you for doing this. Dentists are trying to not help us or scam us out of money. I have to repair my own resin veneer which is as simple as a filling. I don't have porcelain veneers so nobody here wants to touch it or charges exorbitant prices. Thank you

One tip: wear gloves when touching the primer, adhesive and composite. The monomers inside of that stuff go right through your skin and can cause serious damage to your skin.

I had composites done at the dentist. They lasted a year before they broke. I was eating a cookie😩. Anyway, no harm was caused to my natural teeth. They look the same as before I got them put on.

Bonding is not expensive, the problem is dentists dont want to do it because they want that Invisalign bill. I been to 4 dentists who don’t want to do it.

i tried doing this once and it came all wrong then i noticed my kit did not include the curing light and some other tools, i got really scared when the shape was all wrong and wasn't coming out, be careful if you are doing this yourself and make sure you have everything you need first and not later...

I put white tile spackle on teeth then mix blue pearl and chrome microflakes in some Rustoleum Triple Thick Glaze,and put that over the spackle. Omg! Its awesome

yep. I am feeling the same way. I know I am more skilled than most dentists as an artist with keen eye and great coordination. They have way more knowledge, but if the operation is simple and straight forward, I'd trust myself more as far as basic execution goes.

Can you show your grandma's teeth filled. In your other video you mentioned her gap was big and it looked great. My gap is not really big but my dentist said composite won't look right and I needed braces or invisalign.
