  • Dishwasher not draining? This video demonstrates how to test a drain pump on a dishwasher. The drain pump sends water into the sink drain or garbage disposer after each wash cycle, so a bad pump could cause the dishwasher to not drain properly.
Other commonly replaced parts for a dishwasher that won’t start are:
    Thermal fuse
    Door latch
    Main control board
    Touchpad and control panel
    Touchpad
    Timer

Please read. My experience. Water not drained. I checked hoses. They looked clean and clear. So I wasn’t worry about it. Following the video I decided to buy a multimeter. Checked the water pump for continuity and “Everything ok” like 26 ohms. I still decided to order a new pump from Amazon for $29. Installed it and it works flawlessly. My dishwasher was pretty noisy when new because it has a new and strong draining pump. Last days it was doing very quiet cycles due to, what techs call it, a “tired pump”. Now. At least in my Whirlpool model, I didn’t have to disconnect or remove it from its place and put it upside down. I only remove a plastic cover from the bottom front and squeezed my hands through it. Very ease. First. Disconnect the power. Vacuum all the water. Using pliers, Disconnect the plastic drain hose that goes to the pump. And then. With a mirror. Locate the clip that goes on the other side of the pump. Press it and rotate the pump and voila. Clean and make sure there’s nothing obstructed. Disconnect the electrical plug and connect the new one. Easy peasy. I hope this helps. Salud 🍻🍻🍻

15-40 Ohm? Probably for this particular motor. Mine Bosch 90Ohm, some go over 200

My "broken" one only measured 7 ohms, but the new one just arrived also shows 7 ohms with reversed polarity

I have a newer GE portable dishwasher GPT225SSL0SS. It has drain pump part number WD19X24651. It tests 28 ohms and the impeller turns fine by hand. No junk lodging it and the impeller blades look fine. Rinsed the drain filters (fine and coarse) inside of the cabinet. They looked ok beforehand, though. Glass filter is clean. Sump assy. looks clean.
It's been having trouble draining lately. Sometimes leaves an inch of water in the bottom when finished. Sometimes it finishes fine. Lately, if I restart a new clean cycle from scratch, it will pump out the old water first, and then start filling normally. Today, it wouldn't even do that and 888 errored out. I'm running it again now after taking it all apart.
I'm wondering if the User Interface Control Assembly WD21X28718 in the top of the door is acting up. Looks like a $68 part.

What happens if you have three wires going into your drain pump? What is the third wires for?
