If a player has the ball and quick sticks into the corner to waste time - what's the best way to defend that?
Very good thank you. What advice would you give if the attacker is significantly faster than the defender? Is there a way to counter this?
I've been applying your advice for the last few weeks, my defending is waayyy better now... :)
We suggest dropping off a yard/half a meter more than you normally would (with dropping off meaning you are further away from the opponent and closer to the goal). Then focus on channelling the opponent push them to dribble away from goal with how you position your body, as it is a lot safer to have players running down the line than it is running through space in the middle of the pitch. Also, if you do not believe you can improve your speed then focus on improving you anticipation and tackling skills.
