  • Parkia biglobosa, also known as the African locust bean or néré, is a tree found in a wide range in Sub-Saharan Africa, from Senegal to Sudan. It was one of the 16 food tree species investigated through the research project 'Threats to priority food tree species in Burkina Faso: Drivers of resource losses and mitigation measures' (2013-2016).
The project assessed current and future threats to food tree species and supported the introduction of sustainable management practices, including conservation approaches.
