- Todays video will focus on the history of The Volturi from the Twilight Saga. While we see much of the governing coven in the books and movies, I want to deliver a video on the backstory of the volturi pre twilight. I want to analyse and explain their rise to power and examine in detail what they actually did to achieve their royalty status within the vampire world. Keep watching as we continue the video and discover the history of the volturi.

When Marcus said “finally” right before his hypothetical death, I thought that was pretty poetic. An ancient vampire that’s not bloodthirsty & cruel, just exhausted of his immortality.
I was glad to see this as the first comment!! because after watching the video I thought the exact same thing, He was a tortured and lost soul without his love beside him and just wanted to be rid of the pain of immortality and be reunited with the love of his life. It's so sad when you truely think about it. he never wanted power he just wanted to live in peace with his wife.

Probably why he was the most relaxed in his judgements - not ambitious like Aro or bloodthirsty like Caius (who got the Guard to dish out the actual violence while he watched).
Precisely. Poor Marcus just wants everything to end. His mate was killed, he is constantly being manipulated into staying and he cannot really kill himself either. Which is why Marcus is shown putting up no fight when he is killed in the climactic battle. He says finally and opens his arms to embrace Death as an old friend. He was so fed up with everything Aro did and wanted nothing more than to join his mate. Thus, Marcus is the least problematic Volturi and actually more like Carlisle, wanting more peaceful solutions to conflict.

The Vulturi are so interesting, tbh in twilight the back stories of the vampires are much better than the main story, I would love a video about the Romanians

"Respected Carlisle's compassion to not drink human blood" Aro literally would leave humans bleeding to death in Carlisle's Chambers as "pranks" to see if Carlisle could restrain himself.
Carlisle is very similar to Louis Du Pointe Du lac when you think about it

@@jaguareeatscookies I just looked it up well I don't know did Carlisle ever murder humans I don't think he murdered a child ever. They are very different because unlike Carlisle who wouldn't feed on humans the Louis kept on doing it whether he felt bad about it or not he couldn't feel that bad about it doing it for hundreds of years plus murdering a child at least one we know of.

Correction: the younger the vampire, the stronger they are. age does not make these vampires stronger. Newborn vampires (recently turned) are stronger because they still have their human blood lingering in their system in which their vampire body uses as a temporary power source, as they age this advantage disappears and they are no stronger then the average vampire. How strong you are in life effects how strong you are as a vampire. If you were strong as a human, then you’d be stronger then the average vampire, if you weren’t that strong as a human, you’d still be super strong as w vampire but wouldn’t be considered impressive amongst other vampires. There are some vampires, like emmet and Felix, who may or might not have the an ability for enhanced strength. It’s not confirmed or denied because they were strong as humans so this could be credited for why they’re so strong, but as far as we know, Felix is the strongest vampire in existence, follows by Emmett.
correction . newborn vampires do have inhanced strength for a few months with a insane blood lust but after a few months that strength goes away lol
@@brandonmay3785 I think it fully goes away after a year if I remember the books correctly. Also, extreme bloodlust only really goes away for vegetarian vampires. Vampires that drink human blood have hardly any control around humans, the only reason Edward and his siblings/cousins can coexist with humans is because they drink animal blood. That’s why jasper still has a hard time not snapping when smelling human blood, because he hasn’t been a vegetarian as a long as the others. Carlisle can see and smell human blood and not be effected, because he’s gone so long without blood, but they explain the books that a normal vampire would (that drinks human blood) reacts to human blood the way a shark reacts to blood. That’s why they were impressed when Bella didn’t kill that hiker, and Edward says “even mature vampires have a hard time turning away mid hunt”. And he’s talking about his siblings (in the books it says that Edward and his mom and siblings relapsed back to human blood throughout the decades).
i also believe that Carlisle's gift is his lack of bloodlust and desire for blood, but i could be wrong.

Vampires just become more of what they were as human, sense Carlisle was compassionate, selfless and a pacifist as a human, he’s even more so one now, which makes his blood lust easier to overcome, his compassion and drive to help humans is greater than his thirst for blood.also he spent a really long time drinking animal blood, and being around human blood, so he’s not really effected by it anymore.

Wish Meyer would write another book about Volturi or other covens and the vampire world.
It's sad to think that if only Aro didn't kill his own sister, that Marcus and her could have easily fitted in and had a good life with a good Coven, even the Cullens. Marcus could see true intentions, and his wife had the gift of happiness. Obviously in their previous lives, they were good people whose abilities carried over like all vampires, so it's sad to think if only they got out before Aro killed her. They would've made a great addition to the Cullen family, or Denali
All of this is honestly, more interesting than the core story the movies focused on.

Sorry haha, one more thing. Jane cannot kill people with her gift. As she can only make people believe they’re feeling the pain, the pain isn’t actually happening. Which is why Bella’s gift works against it.
Well, Bella's gift also works on Aro's, Edward's and the vampire woman with electricity powers and those are objective powers, not something that relies on the victim's belief.

@@marcojacinto824 yeah bc janes powers are based on the mind. Nothing to do with belief. Jane just convinces ppl they’re in pain, that’s her power. Bella’s power works against all powers based in the mind. So yeah it works against Edward and aro. Tanya’s power (woman with electricity) is also based in the mind. Her power is a weaker version of janes power, she doesn’t actually electrocute ppl she simply makes them believe they’re being electrocuted when she touches them. Not sure why the movie added the visual effect to her gift bc it’s not really electricity. So far Jasper, Alice and Benjamin are the only vampires shown who’s powers are actually physically rather than telepathic. Stephanie Meyer made a illustrated guide explaining all of the vampires abilities.

I hope that Marcus finds out what Arrow did to his mate in Stephanie Meyer's upcoming Twilight books. That detail would make an interesting read.
Now Marcus's death scene makes more sense. Too bad it was a possibility not a reality since Aro changed his mind and chose not to fight

Hey Dean I know this video is old, but you have a HUGE mistake. Children of the moon =/= Shapeshifters. Aro himself makes this clear when Cauis refuses to drop the topic during the confrontation. Children of the moon change form only at night and ONLY during the FULLEST phase of the moon.

I'm still amazed how actor Michael Sheen who was the heroic Lycan leader Lucian in the "Underworld" series portrayed a bigger vampire ass-wipe than Bill Nighys "Viktor" as Arro. Marcus looked a lot like Viktor come to think of it.😂😂😂I really hated the Volturri especially Jayne and Alec.
So while everyone says they technically don’t physically get stronger as they age wouldn’t they still technically get stronger by getting used to their abilities and getting used to their strengths too because I mean while I hate this series because in many ways it made vampires seem too funny to the true vampires of old the volturi are feared for the fact that they’re old and have been around for probably a few thousand years and have amassed a legion of vampires they’ve also had those years to find out how best to use these abilities and find out what their weaknesses so while they physically stay the same mentally they’d grow and abilities that are just gained aren’t as useful as abilities honed for that long prime example being Bella her ability is rare and said to be extremely strong but overall weak when she gets it because she has almost no control over it but imagine if she’d fought after say a hundred years of practice she’d probably be able to do some crazy things but that’s just my thought on it
