    Thanks for this. I just got a new exhaust, went with the Stoneman, I'll probably switch to a 120 main 38 pilot. I'm in Southern Michigan around 9000 if I remember correctly. This video saves me time since I don't know carbs all that well.

    Hey , great demo and info on how it works ...u nailed it ....I just installed a nibbi on my hawk 250 ...the bike flys now , its got power and top end , I'm loving it...pz30 is a super basic carburetor...its junk in my opinion...great video buddy ...keep em coming

      Happy to help brother! I absolutely love nibbi carbs personally I find them impossible to beat for the money 4 for 4 with them so far as they all run great!

      @@Jboost412 agreed!!! Nibbi cant be beat for the price and performance...its an amazing product ..but get this, the nibbi cone filter didnt fit the intake on the nibbi carb when I installed it ...strange right?? ...so had to bore out the rubber boot a little to get it to fit ..

    • @Jboost412
      @Jboost412  3 роки тому +1

      Really?!? That is strange…for the 30mm or the 28mm nibbi we all run the nibbi 48mm it fits perfect in wondering if you got the right box but incorrect filter inside…but yeah that’s all just bore it out a little and you know you have a tight seal! Don’t forget to pick up some filter cleaner & oil personally I use maxima cleaner & oil as it really does a great job of cleaning then the oil isn’t runny plus it’s a distinct greenish blue color so you can see the oil is distributed across the filter evenly since k&n oil is runny for one but it’s also red and tends to lay on too thick affecting your air/fuel mix

      @@Jboost412 so yeh after using a heat gun to make the rubber more pliable on the cone filter but it wasnt enough so after boring it out I was afraid little rubber chunks would get in the carb but I blew it out with compressed air and seems to be fine ...its day 5 running it and like I said , the bike moves now ..i can get the front wheel off the ground out of 1st real easy now ...so ur saying i should oil the cone filter?? ( I'm new to this obviously..lol 1st time ever doing a motorcycle carb swap ) ...what's the purpose in oiling it ..wouldnt sediment get stuck to it ...I Seriously never heard of oiling a filter . I just take it off after a trail ride and blow it out with compressed air ...but lmk I'd I'm doing something wrong ...your info and knowledge is greatly appreciated bro ...ty again and if you've checked out my videos , please critique...lol

    • @Jboost412
      @Jboost412  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah it’s just something you do to the filter to aid in keeping out I guess we will call them micro particles that could otherwise potentially pass thru the filter so you just clean it up real good if it’s already been used and coat the entire filter part with the filter oil I clean and oil mine about every 4-5 weeks it’s always filthy on the outside but my carb & inside of the filter are always spotless I typically ride in really harsh dirty terrain so my filter probably gets allot dirtier then someone who rides on the street or in less rugged terrain but once you start running the pod filter like you are you’ll see when it’s at the point it need a good cleaning & oiling again for now blowing it out with compressed air is definitely what you wanna do to make sure it stays as clean as possible

I have the 28mm nibbi carb for my hawk 250 and i want to do the 300cc (70mm) big bore kit, will a 38 pilot and a 120 main give me the right amount of power, I want the bike to run at its full potential with these mods and not fall short. Hello, i live in a place where elevation ranges from 2,700 - 3,500 feet. I want to get a 28mm nibbi for my hawk 250 and rejet it properly. I want to remove the catalytic converter and get a new intake. What size jets would you recommend? Thanks!

    • @Jboost412
      @Jboost412  2 роки тому +2

      Well jetting I would say start with a clean spark plug and go with a 115 main & a 36 pilot adjust the air/fuel screw for your pilot circuit around 1 1/2 turns out from all the way in and that should be about right for you…but ride it for a day and then check the spark plug to make sure! Don’t hesitate to ask any questions that’s why I’m here!

    I recently purchased a 2004 Yamaha 125 TTR and then purchased a 125CC 26 mm Nibbi carburetor for it. My problem is I don't know how to jet it or adjust the needle. And the moment it does turn over it will not idle and just shuts right off. Does anybody have any suggestions for me?

    • @Jboost412
      @Jboost412  2 роки тому

      Carburetor size is correct for a 125 I believe off hand your main jet should be a 105-110 and the pilots probably something like a 32 air fuel mixture set between 1 1/2 turns out to 2 turns from lightly seated in hope that gets you running!

    I have a TBR7 on order and plan on upgrading the carb to the Jfg pz30. Elevation where I am is 344 feet above sea level. Should the carb be ok out of the box, or should I go ahead and order jet kit? Or should I just try it and see how it does before re-jetting?

    • @Jboost412
      @Jboost412  3 роки тому

      I genuinely don’t know what nets come in them but in my carb video you’ll find a jet kit that’s perfect as far as jetting a stock bike at that elevation a good place to starts around a 105-110 main and a 34 for your pilot reading the spark plug for fine tuning as black will be rich whites lean and you wanna see a brown-tan Color for optimal performance…also make sure you watch the valve adjustment video you’ll have to do that immediately! They come ridiculously tight out of the crate

      @Jboost412  2 роки тому

      With the cheaper clone carbs there’s not really any different taper needle jets now for the genuine Mikuni vm26 yeah there’s different tapers you can try…the main jet being stuck just hold the emulation tube with a wrench I think 1/4” off hand and it should crack loose if you grab the jet with a screwdriver if not you’ll just need to replace it with another Amazon eBay carb they’re hit or miss sometimes but I don’t recommend them anyway as they’re called a 30mm carb but it’s really a 25mm carb acting like a bottle neck for the air & fuel

      You remove the janky stock style carb & intake completely off the bike and then the new nibbi intake bolts directly to your head then the carb slips into the coupler that goes from the carb to the intake with 2 clamps it’s been the best intake I’ve used.:.and I bought every single version possible to see what works best

      So the jetting your running currently is pretty well right on as a safe baseline for fine tuning at that elevation….best thing to do from here would be pop your spark plug out clean it with a wire brush so it’s fresh & shiny ignore whatever soot or what not is currently on there as it’s gonna be from previous runs after a day of riding pull the plug again let me know what she looks like…but as a quick reference blacks rich whites lean & optimal will be a brown sorta tan color you’ll probably find it to be a little blackened for the first few tries at 100% fine tuning it but it’s always safer to start rich and dial back then it is to start lean trying to work your way up…just in case someone else reads this please never start lean! You might cook the motor before you find “your” optimal range

      Highly appreciate the support!! So a otherwise stock bike at roughly 750ft ASL you’d be right around a 115/120 main & a 36 for the pilot jet with your air fuel mixture set about 1.5 turns out from lightly seated in with your needle jet in the center position for now!! Gone that a go & let me know what you think!! I’ve tuned so many of these engines with doing the performance work we do here big bore kits high flow ported / decked heads cams etc etc that while jetting is definitely no one size fits all I always have a good idea of where to start out!! Also clean your spark plug up with a wire brush or something mildly abrasive so you have A good clean spark & B no overlapping results from the prior jetting!!

    • @Jboost412

      Yeah that’s why I started making UA-cam videos & founded the group on Facebook the chonda riders…way too much false information about how these bikes run it how to set them up what things actually need done & how to do them it’s enough to make your head spin 🤦‍♂️ so always trying to make sure it’s easier to get the correct information about how to do something
