For those who were wondering, you need to use the 48mm cold air intake. The 42mm (the one I bought) is too small.
Thank you
Thank you
Appreciate it bro
Thank you 🙏 I love you videos man just put this on my hawk and it really opened it up gave me and extra 5 mph on top speed and the acceleration is nice also it starts right up on a cold start 🔥🔥
Oh yeah dude. I got nothing but great things to say about this carb. I love that just installing it is basically just an insta fix for any stock carb issues
Excellent tutorial. Just what I needed. Thanks.
perfect turtorial for what i needed props to you!
Great solid sound!!! I don't6 know how it sounded before but that 8.8 jet on the original carb could only blop it out!
im sold moto taco is the man !! W video bro
Thank yu for the video. Really made it eazy now I feel confident to install on my quad
How did that go bro ?
Thanks for this video. I needed this. 🇯🇲👍🏽
How long yo got your bike for bredda?
You can also use a hot air gun and remove the rtv off instead of cutting it. I remove my air box because of a newer battery install that was bigger.
Thanks not many videos out but I found this one
I am running a 110 main jet, but when the engine reves very high, it starts to cut out. I was told to install an aftermarket CDI without the Rev. limiter. Low end, she is fine hand has tons of torque. I am also running an aftermarket exhaust pipe and WOW at least 5-6 more horsepower!
what aftermarket exhaust pipe did you get if u don't mind me asking
You need a larger main jet, not a CDI. You can check by looking at your spark plugs after running WOT and then killing it. Look up how to read spark plugs and you'll be looking for a lean condition if your main jet is undersized.
Sounds lean at the top needle on 4
Great video. I competed my install but wanted to know if you reattached the spark plug wire holder clamp?
Thanks
I have this carb on my Hawk. Love it. If you plan on driving through water the cold air intake is no good. Sucks the water right up and kills the engine. I ended up using the hoses from air intake and stock hose to connect directly to the air box. Works great through water now.
Thanks 4 that advice. Plan on installing this on my bike
@@kev8869 Great choice. The carb is awesome for sure. I had to try a couple different jets. If I remember correctly I went with a 95 and I'm up in North Idaho. I could be mistaken about the size I stuck with, that was 800 miles ago...lol. Good Luck and Safe Riding.... while trying to kill yourself all at the same time. Or maybe that is just me.....
@@IdahoClay if you have a link for jets cool!
@@IdahoClay also does it make a difference in the year? Mines a 2015
@@kev8869 I do not believe so.
Just got my hawk 250 last week, put the nibbi on without a hitch thanks to your video. By the way first bike ever and im a girl( that shouldnt mean anything)
I have a TaoTao TBR7 and my Nibbi PE30 really woke up the motorcycle. A Nibbi carb is a great upgrade idea for these Chonda's.
What size jets are you running?
@@chrisMcG17 I change depending on how I feel and motorcycle feels(temp, etc), but usually keep updated on my blog: MyMotorcycleBlog.com
@@MyMotorcycleBlog looking at ur site. Just looking for an idea of jet sizes with nibbi
@@chrisMcG17 I believe I'm currently running 35 pilot and 115 main.
How did you get the carb to fit I I have a 2020 tbr7and it was to big for the space
A Nibbi n28 bolts right in, using the original manifold, and one can retain the air tube and box.
28mm nibbi? I’m about to get a carb. For my Tao tbr7 250 and don’t wanna get the wrong one
So thats the better choice then? Was about to order the 30 and replace manifold and add air pod as in this vid. Any benefit to doing that vs going with the 28 and retaining og air box?
Yes, but you also might need a throttle cable
I want to thank you. I put on my carb for my Templar X 😁😁
well done!
What size intake did you use? I’d like to buy the same setup for my hawk.
Howd ya like the bike? Is it still running today. Thinking about buying the new hawk 250x. It had the counter balanced engine.
The tt250 has what I'm assuming is a vacuum line that runs to the carburetor. It also has one that runs to the intake. What do I do with these lines as there is no place to connect them on the nibbi?
I'm having a problem getting my carburetor right with the Jets and things I live in Florida I gave a nibby carburetor on there and it is straight piped pretty similar to how yours is what jets are you running? The bike was running great until I messed with you exhaust and now I can't seem to get it to run right
Hey man thanks for the video was really helpful. Once I got the carb on and bike running. It’s running wayyy too rich. Adjusted the valve and still wayyy to rich! Did you have this problem? Any recommendations?
there are screws (not the carb adjust screw) that allow you to adjust the fuel/air mixture. the are on the right side of the carb and they should be brass colored
Got a question I have a 2020 Raven 250 put the Mnibbi carb on it it will crank right up but when I'm halfway through the throttle it'll start spitting and bogging and dying I have a 108 jet in it if I put a bigger jet inside it'll die right as I hit the throttle I moved my needle jet down and I'm still having this issue does it sound like it's too rich or too lean?
What about difference in power and fuel consumption ?
I have the nibbi brand jets different sizes I noticed one time when I was playing with the jets that the 115 nibbi jettings is smaller compared to an unbranded generic 115 jets. Apparently, the 115 unbranded jet is equal to 122/125 jets for the nibbi brand. I dunno if that's just me?
What does installing this do? I'm just starting to learn about these mods and upgrades
What jets are you using with a aftermarket exhaust
What does the bottom cable of the carburetor connect to?
What is that extra hose that’s cut next to the carb screw?
I removed my air box and put a pod filter on my NIBBI, but it bogs out now, do I need to adjust air or fuel on carb?
where did u put the spark plugs that was on the stud back
Great vid! I just got my PE30 for my TBR7 to replace my VM26 clone. Did you do any jet changes? What elevation are you ?
I am below sea level in louisiana, i have done 0 jet changes since stock installation
What are the stock jet sizes for the PE30???
I’m at zero elevation also… have the shitty but less restrictive exhaust… so what jets? I get you’re running the stock jets but would there be a better option than the stock jets to use with the pod filter and exhaust mods…???
Do u think this will fit the magician 250 I want to buy but don't know it's the same engine but smaller bike
What size is that air filter? I ordered one with my nibbi and it’s too small
Can you find any engine gears for cam shaft and balance shaft
Why you don put the nibbi racing? Why do you prefer this?
im saving this vedio thanks bro
appreciate it bro
hey moto taco i know this video is from 2 yrs ago i just have a question? just bought a 2023 hawk X 250 put the 30mm nibbi carb on same way you did in this video with the stock 128 jet on, and it works great until i shift from 4th into 5th gear with the throttle pinned and i cant get past 52 mph it bogs and buckles! the bike is bone stock no performance exhaust all i have is the nibbi carb, performance intake, and ngk irridium spark plug. is there any other kind of tuning i need to do? it came with extra jets.. any info would help slow down more grey hairs from developing and stress levels
You can up a jet size that’s no issue. You’re right m, the stock jet may starve it at higher speeds. But there’s only so much you can do with your 239ccs. You may find a power increase with a larger jet though. The carbed models are sooo customizable. Just try it out, you’d be surprised what a little more fuel can give you
hey, the thing u twisted off at 2:09 where the throttle cable is wont twist for me, how did it just easily twist off for you? mine wont come off even with tools.
Is there something on the bottom that connects to a water hose
Were did u get your suspension
Is it still running ive had mine just over a year now.
Yo brother. I love how you found the boot that connects directly to the motor but i jave a Nibbi 28mm so it's probably not going to work. Did you happen to see one that fits the Hawk motor but fits a 28mm?
Bolts right up 👍
Thank you.
Nibbi is now selling the carburetor and adapter set for the Hawk 250 on Amazon
Hey buddy, will the existing cold air intake hose fit directly onto the nibbi? Also, I'm new to carbs, what is the red wheel for? Thank you
the one that connects to your airbox? yes it should. the cold air intake is not a necessary purchase to fit the NIBBI to your bike
You should put the 300cc big bore kit on the Hawk
Ive heard of it. Is there a reliable source you can give me? Id greatly appreciate it 😁👍
can someone tell me if I need to replace the throttle cable on my chinese scooter to fit the nibbi carbureator? It has the stock carburetor & throttle on it but it doesn't look like it will fit right
What exhaust is it you have on here.
1000th Like woohooo🎉
I just got a very similar Templar 250 (pre-assembled because I'm lazy). There's a hose dangling from the bottom/left side of the (stock) carb and I'm not sure where it goes. I think it's an air/vacuum line that attaches to the air box (?). It'll start up and idle just fine but when I give it even just a little throttle it's stalls out. There's also another separate hose that I think connects to the gas cap but the other end goes...??? Any thoughts would be highly appreciated!!
That's a carb bowl drain tube nothing to worry about.
@@FishWithWyoming Yeah. I got it figured out a while ago.
Can use use on efi version
The intake manifold link you supplied in your description did not fit my new Hawk 229cc. The spacing for the studs is spread to far apart. Please advise
Go watch a different UA-camr like moto cheese, this guy constantly provides wrong information
Why cut the intake hose off? It just pulls of.
I've got a '24 Hawk 250 and just did this same mod. The problem I've ran into is that the original hawk intake manifold had a vacuum port and the nibbi manifold does not. So I've been trying to figure out what to do with this vacuum hose?
i have the same exact problem, i ended up rolling the hose up and zip tied it to the frame for the time being, i have 2024 hawk X 250, not to mention i cant get this nibbi tuned no matter what i try it still boggs at half throttle im ready to throw the stock carb back on if i cant figure this crap out tried everything and every size jet etc
My 2021 Raven has a PE30 Stock which Nibbi Carb should I buy the 30 or the 28 MM. And also what adapters will I need for the cold air Intake Filter. The bike is cutting out at 3/4 Throttle I was going to get a Nibbi anyway. RR
I got a 30mm nibbi and mine cuts out at 3/4 throttle still playing with it it came with a 128 main jet in it I put the smallest in that it came with but I still doesn’t run right unless I take the air filter off then it runs fine. I think a 115 main jet is what I want just waiting on the extra jets to come.
why did you hook the clutch cable to the carburator, dont you think the throttle would work better if you hook the throttle cable to it.
is it compatible with atv ?
Ye this is good
does counter clockwise on the fuel screw make it richer>?
clockwise is less fuel counter clockwise is more fuel
When deleting the air box, what do you guys do with the hose going into it? Haven’t used my cold air intake for that reason but would like to
Cut it off.
Cut it
I’m strongly considering buying a hawk. Anything else I should consider replacing?
Did you ever buy a hawk?
Do you need the install the pilot jet and main jet that come in a plastic bag? or is that extra
Extra, the stock jet is perfect for the stock bore
When you installed the Nibbi Carburator did you feel more horsepower, did it go faster top speed?
Did you have to tweek the main jet or turn any screws or leave it as is ?
Not at all, just installed it with its stock jets and took off
@@mototaco6603 did you have any issues or end up lean or rich after say few months of riding ?
@@nassiratti8542 for me it was an entire plug and play fix for both of my hawks. I play with the idle screw every now and then but thats common. The nibbi is probably the best upgrade you can put on your hawk with little to zero tuning
@@mototaco6603 gotcha thanks !!
Do you have to change the intake manifold?
In this video yes
What did you do to get the adapter on the carb because I bought 2 different adapters from nibbi that are the right size but I can’t get it to go over the carb
Ever figure it out i got the same problem?
Could this increase the number of horses?
And what about fuel consumption?
better consumption and better hp mine increased by like 2-3 hp
you might not know but this is gonna fit to a 2022 Brozz the same?
Same engine, there should be 0 problem
Whats the difference doing this to your bike? Would you explain me? Thanks I’m new I got a new bike
its well documented the NIBBI carburetor brings out more potential in the hawk 250. to achieve the hawks pricepoint, some quality assurance cutbacks had to be made. one is the stock carburetor. its simply not the best. so some people opt for the aftermarket option
Would this work on the tao tao tbr7 ? And how much top speed did these mods add ?
they really open the bike up, id say 5-8 MPH more. and yes the tao tao takes this carb too
Question if I buy a nibbi carb that has the flange on the carb do I need the adapter
do you have a link to this carb? i know what you mean about the flange i'd just like to see the model
Subbed cuz I like tacos
I need that carburetor lol
Is this a 28mm or 30mm carburetor? I’ve got a Brozz recon at 500’ elevation using a 28mm now, but I’m wondering if I can get a 30mm to work?🤔
30mm works for the brozz
@@mototaco6603 Good to know, thanks! I just might have to experiment with a 30mm.
Where is the chock on this carb?
I still am hitting the same top speed of 62 mph with the nibbi 28mm fl as I was with the stock carb, I am still using the factory airbox I am jetted 40/115, still have the factory exhaust, is that my problem or is it jetting?
Oh and my gearing is 15/39
17t front 45 rear should bring your top speed up and reduce RPMs in higher gear
Saw someone burn the spark plug wire with this mode
did you tune the carb or is it plug and play?
The stock jets on this carb are plug and play for an unmodified hawk
@@mototaco6603do you have a video on messing with the jets?
are you not worried that your cold air intake will possibly make your engine drink water?
eh. yes lol. would have to be quite the epic wipeout though. then i can do a rebuild video
Will this work on the Raven 250??
yes
can you use this same carburetor on a x-pro titan
As a matter of fact I put a nibbi on my friends X pro titan, can confirm it works. It’s just a little more difficult to mount. But yes 100%
@@mototaco6603 I was just asking because I'm thinking about getting the titan what are your thoughts and experiences with Chinese dirt bikes?
Do you re-connect the choke cable to the carb? or do you have to manually do that now on the carb?
the choke is the little black hex 'screw' on the other side of the nibbi carb
"Maybe I can get my wife to hold the camera. Hone-" 🤣
can you take the airbox off after installing cold air intake
Yes i have a video on it, completely safe
@@mototaco6603 okay, also would a pe28 fit on the 250?
Can u make still make the upgrade with the fuel injected bike ?
No
@@mohamd8525forgot about asking this question. this was a year ago lol .. did the air box deal though 👍🏻
Would this fit a 2017 hawk
Without a doubt
Completed the install without a hitch, but any time I start the bike it revs like crazy, like jumps to 6K rpms. Not really sure what’s going on. Have adjusted the air/fuel screw and the idle screw, to no avail. Any ideas?
Having same issue you fixed yours yet??
possibly throttle cable may need to loosen it
I loosened my throttle cable and that didn’t work for me. Did any one else find the solution to this issue?
Check to make sure you aren't putting the slide into the carb backwards. It will get hung up and keep the throttle open.
The cord at the bottom, where does it attach to
Nowhere it’s a vent/drain line

@@mototaco6603 How many rounds?
How do you like the carb so far??
In my opinion it completely changes the bike. I take it to work everyday and it still has a top speed of around 55 maybe 60 full throttle on flat surface. But i certainly feel alot of lower end responsiveness. Very peppy
@@mototaco6603 thank you definitely gonna install it on my bike
@@mototaco6603 ive gotten 60 mph on the gps with the stock carb and just an upgraded exhaust, no sprocket changes or anything like that.. wondering if I can get it up to 65-70 with this nibbi carb, I'm 6 foot 215lbs too so I'm pretty surprised by the performance lol
If I ever caught somebody who was working for me bending up hose clamps like you just did I would fire them immediately. What is wrong with you?
single counterbalanced cylinder produces most of its vibration in the head of the motorcycle ironically right where the intake manifold of where the nibbi carburetor is mounted. what happens over time and there are documented cases of this happening; is the low-thread contact of the metal belt on the hose clamps paired with the vibrations caused them to back off of each other typically in the range of something extremely small like 250-500 miles. everything might be well and good for the next couple of miles until the lubrication of the fuel air mixture paired with the NIBBI pressing against the frame of the hawk causes the carburetor itself to be pushed off of the manifold causing immediate power loss. this happened to me once before in the pine barrens and I realized it was the hose clamps coming loose and allowing the rubber intake adapter to fail. having no tools on me at the time, I had to screw the hose clamps back on with my credit card. high vibrations and the nature of the dual sport motorcycles off-road environments don't exactly make this a possibility- they make this an inevitability.
so the question is; in the imperfect science of the aftermarket world. what do we do? you could over-tighten the hose clamps. but this causes the adapter to SQUEEZE itself off of the intake manifold over time. bending the residual metal of the leftover thread belt of the hose clamp into the flathead screwdriver recesses of the hose clamp screws is a non-destructive method of preventing this issue. there are other ways as well. there's threadlock putty.. or like many diesel mechanics, you can lockwire the tops closed with some high tensile safety wire essentially rendering every other option less effective. i have since lock wired my hose clamps. however for a simple carb install video i didn't want to begin a lesson on safety wiring- and wire twisting pliers may not be a part of every vice-grip mechanics repertoire.
though since its a relatively old video, it may be time for an update
So no airbox? No filter. Just the cold intake?
yeah exactly, the cold air intake is basically acting as the filter. its washable and reusable too. if you want to do more muddy off roading then you can always reinstall the airbox aswell or put a box around the cold air intake
Thanks, any idea where I could get some plastic covers for the bike?
So what did you do with the breather tube that connect from old air box to engine?
@@scottyguinn203 I'm curious about that airbox as well! when you cut the tube from it did you cover the hole to the airbox that is no longer being used?
@@yikez317 I from crankcase got clear tubing, ran it up next to air box w a mini pod filter on it ... Then used plastic bag w rubber bands in air box tiny hole so it's blocked, if mini pod issue arises I'll just route tubing over chain as is n use the kick back oil to go in chain ... The air box plug is over chain also so if it kicks oil back u just let a drip.

lol really? whatd u do xD
@mototaco6603 SOLVED... the carb I had on was smaller than the one I had pulling the cable further than usual... just had to adjust the cable by the throttle
Can I just buy the nibbi or do I need all the clamps and hoses too?
the hoses & clamps (i assume you mean the manifold that says 'nibbi' on it) allows you to attach the nibbi to the intake of the motorcycle. now do you mean can you just purchase the carb only? thats a yes
@@mototaco6603 but it won't connect to the stock intake without that stuff? I only bought the 28mm carb and was wondering if I needed more stuff to install it
@@JustCallMeRock nah sorry dude, the original intake has threads sticking out of it. it mounts to the stock carburetor completely different
stock carb goes slides onto the intake and the intake has studs that have a nut go onto the back of them holding your stock carb on.
your 28mm nibbi is just a metal tube that connects to a rubber (fitted) tube that connects to another metal tube (your new intake adapter).
it also depends on the nibbi you bought. im seeing two 28mm nibbi carbs. is the right hand side of it just a hole? or did you get the nibbi that has a plate as part with two holes on the side for mounting?
