Joshua, you have processed your spoken word microphone, near perfectly! You're one of the few that cares. And you've done it of so right. For decades I am made my living, recording and broadcasting, spoken word narratives. Along with producing, tens of thousands of, commercials. For an international, advertising agency. Where you have to make certain. No one misses or misinterprets a single word. And so, that requires some fairly extreme, tonal and dynamic range processing. To fool the listeners. Into thinking it sounds, normal. And just right. And that's the mark of a good audio engineer. Joshua you definitely get my seal of approval. With an excellent sounding voice track. RemyRAD
Great video as always. That tip on how to remove the lens was awesome. Very out of focus with the lens and no glasses now crystal clear.made ALLthe difference

JOSHUA BARDWELL you have done an amazing job with these videos and have answered soo many questions and saved soo many people frustration especially me. Personally I like the box goggles from fatshark. They're small, light, and I got use to the 16:9 format. My hope is a more non-proprietary HD system comes. The hd side of the house has definitely segregated the community.

I've had the fat shark dominator HDs but the left screen is going funky, I don't know if I want to get the walksnail goggles l ,or these are on sale for $169 at rotor riot. Or if I just want to splurge and get the goggles x. Any recommendations would be great
How would the goggles stack up today against the Walksnail Goggles L and with the significant price cut to a 170$??? What would you recommend to get into Walksnail???
Been a couple years since I've flown. I have some HD2s... And all this other stuff is confusing lol. Too many options that aren't compatible with each other.
The HDZero/Sharkbyte version of this goggle was/is called the "Scout HD". Same thing I'm sure just different VRX. I just picked up the OLED Walksnails and I am not impressed compared to my DJI V2 goggles. Yes the range sucks but my complaint isnt the range but the key holes I feel like I'm looking through combined with chromatic aberration the cheap lenses create. I flew a few flights then switched back to my V2 goggles flying the same size class quad and the feel was completely different. Right about that time I got a notice from getfpv that the Scout HD's were back in stock so I pulled trigger on them and a HDzero mobula6. I will eventually try the OLED hdzero's but if the eye pieces are as small as this Walksnail I dunno what I'm gonna do. Wish I could run HDMI into my DJI V2's(I know you can RCA to HDMI convert but that's not nearly the same).
One comment on the recommended combination of the Walksnail VRX and the Cobra X: that's exactly the combination I'll hopefully soon be using. And all in all it seems to be the perfect combination, I agree. However, there's one caveat: after reading about latency in some forums, I measured the HDMI input lag of my Cobra X. And unfortunately it's quite quite high (around 35 ms). I'm not particularly sensitive to lag (or, I guess, not a good enough pilot to notice), but for some people the sum of the latency of the Walksnail System and the HDMI lag might be a little too much... It seems that the lag is coming from the fact that the image has to be mirrored on the screen of the goggles due to their optical system. However, as the optical systems of the Fatshark and the Skyzone are basically the same, maybe the Recon Goggles have the same problem. Maybe Mr. Bardwell can send his goggles to Mr. Rosser for further investigations.
The Recon goggles don't mirror the screen, but I appreciate you letting me know about the latency of the Cobra X HDMI input, as that's quite significant.
@@JoshuaBardwell Yes, you're absolutely right. I made the mistake of repeating something I read on a forum without checking it for myself. Now I slightly disassembled my Cobra X and checked for myself and I can confirm that the image of the Cobra X is also not mirrored. With that in mind the input latency is even harder to explain. In addition, Gal Kremer made a video in which he showed that latency of the Cobra X is also quite high when using the analog receiver (> 30 ms - incl. video link and camera, so better than what I measured but still high). After all, this seems to be a problem with the display panel/controller. Maybe something Skyzone could fix in firmware but I don't have high hopes.
@@mihyouko i'm still using my old cobra x v2, so after reading this is it better to just buy the recon hd rather the vrx for my cobra's? or should i just buy the used dji v1? don't mention the new walksnail google, i'm broke 😂
@@iammostwanted777 So after using the VRX with the Cobra X V2 for a little while (I measured the delay in this configuration to be 70-80 ms) I gave up and ordered the HD Zero Goggles (for the cheaper pre-reaease price). And at least for me (self build Whoop with Meteor 75 Pro frame mostly flying around a playground as an obstacle) the difference is quite significant. There's other pilots that feel fine with this combination but at least for close proximity whooping I really feel the difference. Unfortunately, it seems that the additional delay is a problem with all box style goggles (because of the displays they have to use - no display manufacturer will custom config anything for so few displays the goggle manufacturers need). So I don't think the Recon HDs will be much better. Unfortunately, it seems that nobody tested latency on them. I guess it depend's on your flying style. For cruising, the Cobra X V2s with the WS VRX can be fine. But for everything quicker - at least for me - it's distracting. But if you want low latency, I guess any kind of Box Goggle will be problematic, but I'm not sure, as nobody tested the HD versions, as far as I know.
@@mihyouko yeah the problem is, there's only a few review for the recon hd, i don't even know the true latency is. So it's better to buy the used dji V1 with analog module rather than using my old cobra with vrx or using recon hd? i will just use it for like 6 month to 1 year and then bought the WS googles X, thats my plan before. Also, why i don't use hdzero. cuz there's no shop selling them in my country, and if ordered it directly the tax in my country would be 2x the price, i fly 5" and tinywhoop.
I flew roughly 20 packs through my newly built setup over the weekend using these goggles and the v2 unit, and talk about absolutely fantastic hardware. SO much less finicky than analog, at a great price.
@@ramus9 Why do you prefer the Scouts to the Cobra X? After my Scouts started to act funny (they powered down randomly even with a fully charged battery) and my Fatshark Transformers just died before that, I decided I would switch to the Cobra X. And all in all I really prefer them to the Scout. They have better reception, I prefer the image quality and they have an HDMI in. The only downside is the considerable input lag (see my other comment), but it's possible that the Scouts are comparable there as well (I'm planning to channel my inner Rosser and measure this soon).
Nice thorough comparison. The HDZero box goggle solution from Fatshark was actually the Scout HDs. Still similar. They reused some tooling leftover from the original analog versions more than likely.
I got a Noob question here. But i see that you have Analog video and then the better version, Digital Video Transmission. Now when you have a digital setup it seems like it costs like $500-1k$ for quality fpv googles or dji googles, digital video transmitter, receiver, camera, and good quality cameras. So it seems that it depends on the latency and the Data speed.. Has anyone tried using a 5G/4G LTE Antenna and a small device for data in/out for the 5G Cellular connection? So then you would have like 500mbps+ of data speed in any bigger towns. I have gotten 600mbps download/ 500mbps upload with Verizon 5G and it was down one bar from Max, and it had latency of 3ms according to the internet speed tests i did. Because i use it for cloud gaming occasionally and latency is just as important as the speed. So why not use a fast 5G cellular connection for the video/audio/data transmission? You can have a sim for a ipad/tablet for $10-20/month with verizon and i know a lot of people spend a lot of money on FPV Drones. I was just thinking about it recently and i figured someone had to of tried this before. I mean you can do super clear HD FaceTime anywhere you have decent 4G basically. Im sure theres a reason why you cant use 5G cellular for FPV instead of like a analog/digital setup? I was just curious. Especially for long distance flying and FPV drones and things like that..
A lot of people talking about latency on their Google... Sure, if you fly in tight space and do some freestyling stuff, latency matter. But what about cruising fpv pilot like me? You don't really need super low latency imho...
Brilliant video, great to see manufacturers giving us a lot of choice at a cost saving . How is the anti fog/ ventilation on the box goggles? . I under stand on the more expensive walksnail , is not good .
I love how they made a module, awesomr idea, i still have my skyzone 02x and i wouldnt get rid of them, good to have a spare pair of analogs i think with digital
To be honest, I don't feel like the skyzone cobra X should be recommended in any way. I got mine less than two months ago, probably less than 20 flights on them, screen won't turn on anymore. Looking online, this looks like a frequent issue, and skyzone support do not seem to answer at all. Being the "Most expensive box goggles", it makes it expensive for a 2 months lifespan.Sure, they got lot of good features for someone that is starting analog, considering they can potentially be used later for HD with the hdmi input, but yeah. Lot of people are having issues with them, skyzone isn't really taking care of it.. It leaves new pilots without goggles.
Hi. Are these the same size as the Cobra X? my glasses fit in those. Still can't decide, if I should only upgrade my Cobra X V2 or go for the Recon HD goggles and vtx kit separately. Thought? ;) thanks, P. Sidd
… if you don’t have any gear yet. If you’re only new to digital but have a bunch of analog quads already, there’s a fair chance you have analog goggles that will accept HDMI in. If they do, take a look at the Walksnail module and/or the HDzero vrx4 instead, as they’re the most affordable way first step into digital FPV. In fact, the latter has been around for a while…
I mean… I don’t wanna be a d*ck about it, but I heard some great advice in here about combining the cobra x with a VRX that I don’t remember hearing in the reviews of the HDzero module. So unless I’m mistaken on that, it’s just a bit of shame, really…
I'm not sure what point you're trying to make with the Cobra X reference. Every single time I have talked about HDZero, I have said that it's a great value proposition if you already own analog goggles with HDMI input. I have always pointed out that the ability to pair HDZero with the analog goggles of your choice is one of the advantages of that system. The reason I specifically call out the Cobra X here is because the existing Walksnail goggles have zero support for analog or HDMI input, so the ability to solve that problem by going with a different box goggle is worth mentioning, and the Cobra X are the least expensive box goggle with sufficient resolution and HDMI input to support the system. You 100% can also use the Cobra X with HDZero, and if anybody asked, what's the cheapest goggle I can buy to use with HDZero, I would also suggest the Cobra X.
@@JoshuaBardwell I guess my point is that that piece of advice was missing from other reviews. And as a bit of an HDzero fanboy, that kinda bugs me a little. I guess I just wish (stuff like) that piece of advice would’ve popped up earlier in (HDzero) videos about digital systems before talks of the Walksnail module. That setup is cheaper then DJI v2 was for a long time. Yet you usually did the math comparing costs with different goggles, making it pretty much even on price. A setup for anyone coming into the hobby. Let alone for a lot of people that already had compatible goggles, but you only put that “unless” caveat in later. Now I’m not claiming anything shady is going one, I don’t think it’s even a purposeful thing or anything like that. You’ll have to excuse the forwardness, but all in all it does make me feel like your personal preference is shining through. I know I’m knitpicking, but that perception on our side might be why you sometimes feel like you’re walking on eggshells with HDzero fanboys 😉 Apart from that, great review, looking forward to more goggle reviews in the near future! 😉
Can you show me where I did the math comparing costs of different goggles and unfairly disadvantaged HDZero by using expensive analog goggles instead of cheaper ones? I have talked about these systems a lot so it's hard to know exactly what you're referring to. In general, I think I say that HDZero is "about on par" with DJI in terms of the cost of vTX and camera, and "cheaper if you already own a set of analog goggles, but about on par if you have to buy a new set of analog goggles." Consider: DJI goggles alone cost about $550 to $570 for a long time. $250 for Cobra X plus $240 for HDZero vRX plus another $50-$100-ish in antennas yeah -- that's "about the same". HDZero is even more expensive if you assume somebody is buying $500-$600 HDO2 or Orqa. But, bottom line, I'm not willing to engage with your vague sense that I have a bias and have been unfair to the system. Give me a specific video where I said a specific thing, and we can discuss it.
@@JoshuaBardwell The most specific thing I can think of is that when you do these calculation, you always start assuming that one has no goggles at all, (or at least none that would take a HDMI), do the calculation, point out how that stacks up, and only after 5-10 minutes in hindsight caveat it with "unless you already have...", just like in your previous comment. I'd argue that that paints a picture that DJI is on par or cheaper, 'unless' you're the exception from the assumptions made. The thing is every single pilot I've met and/or seen fly in person over the past few years has goggles that accept HDMI except for two. So I'd argue that the assumption of no (HDMI-compatible) gear is not entirely fair as most do already own a compatible set of goggles. It only took me 3 months to upgrade my goggles to one when I started. If you take that into account that would significantly changes the outcome of the calculation. Now, I realise that you can't do the calculation as a one-size-fits-all, but I do think it would've painted a fairer and more complete picture if the takeaway would've been along the lines of: "getting into digital FPV is about 300 bucks plus VTX unless you're pretty fresh in the hobby. In that case, DJI might be cheaper as a first step, plus DJI has a number of other advantages depending on what and how you wanna fly". Neither version would necessarily be unfair I think. We each have our preferences and that's fine, and I do get and appreciate the starting-from-scratch approach. But I'd argue the nuance in this version of the takeaway would do both systems a little bit more justice. Funnily enough I did see that nuance more in this particular video, so that's a plus! Keeping that perspective in mind, getting into digital FPV has been around 300 or less for a lot of people for quite a while now, and I perceived the title of this video to again also gloss over that perspective a little bit. So I guess that's what triggered me to comment in this case. I'll happily admit that it is indeed a vague sense that I'm trying to convey. But it is how I perceived it. Only trying to point out that your personal preference can come across in unintended and/or nuanced ways, and if it does I believe you'd rather be told about it than not because you do intend to be as fair as possible. Again: this is extreme nitpicking, I don't think you've treated anything or anyone unfairly. Love your content, and especially given the latest news from e-max, I can't wait for the upcoming goggle reviews 😉!
Hmm nice, also I noticed new hdo2.1 is out with the same old dumb useless dvr. Sadly I’ve been trying to get fatshark customer service to fix my beloved scout analog goggles but there is no support provided. They are not even responding back to emails, Beware as FS customer support is completely screwed.
Having bought the DJI goggles, which, apart from 3.5mm in, don't have any way of inputting video, I will stay away from these. I want to switch to Walksnail, but I'm locked in with my DJI goggles. Will probably buy some used fatshark and the VRX instead of this Recon
Great info and Big Thumbs up, looks like fatshark (fatcat) is just trying to cash in on another side of the HD, and make a few extra bucks, hopefully they will use the extra bucks to fund some kind of customer service for the uk and other places, but i don't think so, another year or few, there will be another recon for sure ;O) lmao
But at $280 you can get the Standalone system with camera and transmitter for literally the same price with the special that's going on right now I understand that's not going to be a forever thing and since they're both on pre-order if I was going to purchase it I would buy the standalone cuz I already had the HD zero Standalone the original version 1 and I could just swap it out for me that's what I would go for since they're all on pre-order anyhow and I can just continue to use my goggles I use now but for a noob this might be a good option
If you take the foam off or cut it partially do think you would be able to wear your glasses? (I realize everybody has different size faces and glasses and you can’t say definitively) I wear glasses (I have astigmatism) and I have the attitude v6 goggles. I noticed I get more motion sickness with those goggles than I used to get when I wore box goggles. But I can’t use box goggles without my glasses, I get headaches and eye strain when I do.
Damn! This goggle release makes analog's days even more numbered! Why would anyone buy analog goggles when they could buy these?! No reason I can logically see. BUT, probably the best option to these Recon FatSharks is the good ole, tried & proven DJI V2 goggles! At $429, they give us 810P, 120 FPS, adjustable 54 degree FOV, FULL Betaflight OSD in goggles, with up to 1200mw, and the ability to do outstanding analog FPV! Cheaply too. And, supposedly the soon to be released 03 Air Unit will allow gimbal stabilized 4K DVR recording, just like the DJI Avata drone. Plus, the image quality is top of the line, as is the durability & reliability of both the goggles and the Vista and Link. That $429 deal is just too good to pass up!!! But, the Recon's in this video would be my second affordable choice. No HDMI and no analog hurts them, though.😎🤘
Wish digital FPV came down more in price! Less barriers entry to new pilots who don’t want crappy VTX and have to deal with getting an FCC armature license.
The Cobra goggles have a periscope optical pathway though, and you can wear glasses with them. These FS box goggles don't, so the screen is too close for us long sighted people...Just saying.
Once again Fatshark have missed an opportunity.... Namely a damned good low latency do it all box goggle with analogue in and hdmi in+out for digital vrx's (Walksnail built in)
bro, i'm lost. been flying simulator for 200 hours and want to start FPV. I need a sub 250g quad to freestyle, race and cruise maybe 1,5 km. possible? do i go digital or analog? any budget friendly suggestions for drone and goggles? i dont want to compromise quality too much though. love your videos thanks in advance
Bro. There are endless FPV videos on UA-cam where they talk about different quads to buy and all the benefits. Do you really think Josh has the time to answer everyone's direct question like this? Everything you're asking is part of the process of getting into FPV, not just flying in a simulator. Time to start doing research on quads and parts.
@@dangerous8333 anyone with suggestions is welcome, i have been researching and looked most at rekon 4 fr and lr, flywoo explorer, chimera 4 and crocodile baby. i just dont know what goggles to match with for digital and analog.
I started with a Mambo Ethix with an ERS module, Skyzone 04x, a mobula 6, and a Darwin FPV baby ape. Mangled a couple mobula frames, and started to get good and learn about repairing and batteries and stuff. If you have the means, coming from a recent newbie, don’t buy a super nice quad at first. You *will* break it, and if it’s too nice, you’ll feel bad about it. And then you won’t want to go flying because you’re so worried about breaking your fancy quad again. Buy a basher. Power loop it into a wall, rip the frame in half, laugh about it, and rebuild it or get a new one. Only buy a nice quad when you’re really confident with real flying. The sim is really great, but it’s no substitute for all the weird crap that happens in meat space. Just my opinion. Glad to see another new pilot!
I bought the cobra X whilst waiting for hdzero goggles.... Not sure now about buying the Hdzero goggles as the cobra X with analogue and hdzero and soon walksnail is surprisingly good.....
Are they the version 2's? I've been thinking about buying them as an analog with an HD upgrade path for when i'm ready, but i heard bad things about the battery life on the version 1's. What battery do you use? I only fly whoops so i dont have a way to charge anything except 1s. I dont want to invest in a charger for bigger batteries just to power goggles, but an 18650 charger isn't a big deal. So i'm very interested in the battery life of the internal 18650 or one of those dual 18650 packs you can buy.
I confirm the 18650 battery last about 90 minutes (if using a good quality Panasonic 18650 battery) because i wear the cobra X when practicing on Velocidrone and DRL simulators.
I got the Recon HD goggles and using them feels like I'm in the back of a movie theatre. The screen feels like it's about 6 inches away from my eyes. What is the experience with the Dominators? How much would it feel like I am more to the front of the movie theatre if any?
I have the Fatshark Scout and recently bought the Fatshark Dominator HDs. I hate the Dominator HDs, the lenses are like looking through a key hole. My eye lashes also brush against the lenses and its not comfortable. Im waiting for black friday sales to get the Recon HDs and Im going to sell the Dominator HDs.
It's possible that what you're seeing is the result of the 60 fps recording being overlaid on the 100 fps timeline. I don't know how to combine 100 fps low-latency footage and 60 fps regular-latency footage without experiencing this issue though.
Are the antennas for the digital systems the same 5.8GHz antennas used for analog so you could use an already owned, for example, Foxeer stubby for walksnail too?
You can to use the same antennas on both HD and analog systems as long as the polarization is the same on both the goggles and video transmitter. Keep in mind the DJI and Walksnail (not sure about HD Zero) systems come with left hand polarized antennas.
The digital systems ship with LH polarized antennas. If you switch all your vTX to RH antennas, then you could use the same RH antennas you used on your analog goggles.
@@JoshuaBardwell As for the upcoming Walksnail VRX, I guess this won't be possible as I expect the 2 integrated patch antennas are LHCP too (specs seem to only list the replaceable antennas)
I thought that one of the antennas on the Walksnail system was for receiving and needed to be omni-directional... is that not the case? and if yes, does that mean that the Scouts have one omni for receiving (instead of all patch antennas)?
The fact that the cheaper goggles have a fan and the expensive ones dont puzzles me. Did they somehow science the fogging issue away on the expensive ones?
there are so many names hd digital walksnail, can you tell me if hd means digital, or meansh hd analog and if digital is only walksnail?? or something else??
Let me calculate this! 960 is 120 away from 1080 and 240 away from 720. In my opinion that's almost twice as far away as it is from 1080, but maybe that is because i am more a "tha glass is half full" type of guy. Who knows?
He's referring to the older Fatshark Recon HDs that had a HDZero Receiver in them (the ones he mentions in the beginning of the video). Not the new goggles from HDZero.
1080p exists, but in my opinion it's a barely noticeable difference compared to 720 so I'd rather run 720/100fps than 1080/60 fps. I guess on the Recon goggles you might as well run 1080 since 100 fps is not an option but even then, I just don't see a big improvement.
Thanks. The latest firmware videos look pretty good, but of course it's hard to tell on UA-cam. I feel like Avata is amazing in person, but then my uploaded videos are only better in color vs the latest walksnail videos. I only fly in 60fps, so this goggle would be a really cheap way to switch if Walksnail ever gets close to Avata and O3 AU.
@@JoshuaBardwell You might have pointed out something I didn't realize or had forgotten. That there isn't a 1080 100fps in walksnail. That explains better why so many don't show the 1080 footage since they previously ran low latency mode. I guess that puts a pretty big distance between O3 and walksnail.
I just realized that I never SAID that they have USB HDMI output just like the bigger goggles. They do.
So you are saying that i will soon be able to get a Cadex stand alone receiver and use it with my Eachine Goggles 2 that have a HDMI input and i will then have something similar to the HDMI Goggles? If so this is awesome news. Thanks Mr Bardwell !!!!

That means I can use my fatshark Dominator V2 and just plug in the module into the HDMI 😊
7:05 "Oh yea, see? It's completely unfocused."
You need a pupil-camera for us to see that one mate, but I'll take your word for it :D
Thanks so much for this video. I've been trying to decide who to choose for weeks now.
Wait, so your house is the one that's on Lift-off?! Nice!!! And amazing video as always!
Feels good to have the exact setup Mr Bardwell suggest at the end! Cobra X+ walksnail vrx!
Cobra Xs aren’t that good. Not even as good as the Scouts.
@@ramus9 i like them personally
@@ramus9 Why do you prefer the Scouts to the Cobra X? After my Scouts started to act funny (they powered down randomly even with a fully charged battery) and my Fatshark Transformers just died before that, I decided I would switch to the Cobra X. And all in all I really prefer them to the Scout.
They have better reception, I prefer the image quality and they have an HDMI in. The only downside is the considerable input lag (see my other comment), but it's possible that the Scouts are comparable there as well (I'm planning to channel my inner Rosser and measure this soon).
How do you like the cobra x walksnail vrx?
It would be really cool to fly a real quad. The simulator is awesome and I've gotten pretty good. I just hope real life is like the sim
Nice thorough comparison. The HDZero box goggle solution from Fatshark was actually the Scout HDs. Still similar. They reused some tooling leftover from the original analog versions more than likely.
It would be tough to go back to box goggles but that price is awesome compared $600. Who makes the cheapest goggles with a HDMI input?
Cobra X and a vrx for the win!
Anyone?
A lot of people talking about latency on their Google... Sure, if you fly in tight space and do some freestyling stuff, latency matter. But what about cruising fpv pilot like me? You don't really need super low latency imho...
Brilliant video, great to see manufacturers giving us a lot of choice at a cost saving . How is the anti fog/ ventilation on the box goggles? . I under stand on the more expensive walksnail , is not good .
Hard to judge with it being winter, they don't fog up.
8:48 haha UA-cam makes it 4k50 from your 100fps upload (watching on a 4k120hdr screen) - probably just use it as slow-mo as needed in post next time
Great idea! Upload at 60 fps at half the speed, then we play it at 2x.
Hi. Are these the same size as the Cobra X? my glasses fit in those. Still can't decide, if I should only upgrade my Cobra X V2 or go for the Recon HD goggles and vtx kit separately. Thought? ;) thanks, P. Sidd
This is a great option I might pick a setup strictly for tiny whoops!!
Do you Know the latency of this Goggles?
Fantastic review, Joshua! 😃
This option looks pretty good indeed!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Jb, please stop train sbang sbang, because makes u circle around and make us dizzy, hahahahaah
I know I’m knitpicking, but that perception on our side might be why you sometimes feel like you’re walking on eggshells with HDzero fanboys 😉
Apart from that, great review, looking forward to more goggle reviews in the near future!
So when are you handing them to Wezley for a range test?
Well, sorry to say it looks like YT doesn't support framerates over 60 fps. F in the chat for me.
Hi joshua..i'm new in fpv..may i ask u a question..can i use this goggle to fly with analog drones?
But at $280 you can get the Standalone system with camera and transmitter for literally the same price with the special that's going on right now I understand that's not going to be a forever thing and since they're both on pre-order if I was going to purchase it I would buy the standalone cuz I already had the HD zero Standalone the original version 1 and I could just swap it out for me that's what I would go for since they're all on pre-order anyhow and I can just continue to use my goggles I use now but for a noob this might be a good option
If you take the foam off or cut it partially do think you would be able to wear your glasses? (I realize everybody has different size faces and glasses and you can’t say definitively)
I wear glasses (I have astigmatism) and I have the attitude v6 goggles. I noticed I get more motion sickness with those goggles than I used to get when I wore box goggles. But I can’t use box goggles without my glasses, I get headaches and eye strain when I do.
I 'reckon' they are supposed to be pronounced RE-CON. Love ya, JB, thanks for all the incredible info.
Very informational. Thanks joshua
Are the Recons still the best/cheapest way to get into digital fpv in 2024.?
With advances in VR Google’s, any chance that that could be a possible market for a receiver based product, I.e. any googles with an HDMI input?
i’m so happy now, a year late but still happy
Why are those goggles so much more expensive than vr- headsets like the quest 2?
Small market means no economy of scale. Also, Facebook sells the Quest 2 at a massive loss.
@@JoshuaBardwell it might be that they sell at a loss. Economy of scale is still a question for me. Aren't there more fpv googles sold than Quest2s?
IPD is a main selling point of those I guess. Anyone with IPD >70mm is bound to box googles sadly
Thanks Bro,staying with the Dji Goggles.
i watch this same video before and now is when i notice your other pilot hahahahahaahah 8:14
you menchoned the cobra x goggles. i just bought them as my first pair, but they need more padding. any ideas on thicker padding?
Only works with 1 proprietary vtx my analog goggles work with any analog vtx no binding etc plus any camera
About glasses not fitting goggles. Glasses can be bought cheap, buy a small pair that will fit your goggles.
Would these goggles support the 1.3ghz 2ch transmitter?
Once again Fatshark have missed an opportunity....
Namely a damned good low latency do it all box goggle with analogue in and hdmi in+out for digital vrx's (Walksnail built in)

i dont want to compromise quality too much though.
love your videos thanks in advance

@@JoshuaBardwell You are a legend, thanks for the reply and amazing educational videos

I wonder if Two of the patches are facing rearward or to the sides. Has anyone torn it down yet?
Wow that's impressive
This made me dizzy. No more circles 😬
Is the recon HD compatible with the meteor 75 pro 1s
Wow the jitter / studder on Recon is almost unwatchable. is it the same in the goggle or artifact of editing?
It's possible that what you're seeing is the result of the 60 fps recording being overlaid on the 100 fps timeline. I don't know how to combine 100 fps low-latency footage and 60 fps regular-latency footage without experiencing this issue though.
Can I use the stock Dji antennas on the dominators for now?

50fps? Am I trippin' or aren't your videos a bit smoother & less flip-booky?
I exported in 100fps like the walksnail DVR but youtube can't handle it.
What is best build to add the walksnail to when the external module with 1s vtx arrives.
What about the dji goggles 2 lite
I wear +2 reading glasses to read. Does anyone know if they can see the screen ok if glasses don't fit in the goggles?
I thought that one of the antennas on the Walksnail system was for receiving and needed to be omni-directional... is that not the case? and if yes, does that mean that the Scouts have one omni for receiving (instead of all patch antennas)?
No, that's not true. They can be used with four patch antennas, it just changes the optimal coverage pattern.

@@JoshuaBardwell How to change the firmware of r1 v2 mini accst to RXSR
Is it possible?
Footage in 720p,.. Is 1080p 50Mbit still not viable on Walksnail?
