Appreciate your efforts removing beach garbage, a lot of it traps sea life and sea birds. Incredible how much stuff is on remote beaches around the world
This comment hits home. For Christmas I posted a video saving a shore bird caught in a net. I posted it on Xmas Eve. Two months after your comment. Thanx for the comment.
Sir, thank you for all the beach clean up you have done. My wife and I moved up to Washington and there is a lot for me to learn. I have subed to your channel and have watched your other video's. I will have to get out and help with keeping the beach's looking beautiful. Great job Carl
We normally have organized beach cleanups in the early spring. Last year was Easter weekend. We need one now because of the recent debris showing up on the Pacific beaches. If we receive a northwesterly blow for a day, we will have much more garbage showing up worse than we have already seen.
the fact they are using those helmets to study currents is cool af I belive the first time someone thought to do that, it was a container of rubber ducks, and they learned a TON about how the ocean flows. Those helmets are so clean because they don't have any surface texture for anything to adhear to. there's nothing for the barnicals to grab onto to start growing on the shell or the plastics.
Wow, I've never seen so many floats on the Westport/Grayland beaches. The amount of trash you've found is really sad. My grandparents lived in Grayland and a good part of my life has been spent there. We still spend Summers there, I love the place.
I find my floats when there is a storm blowing from the northwest and has for a couple of days. I like looking for the glass floats that come in from those storms not the planted ones they put on the beaches in Westport during the spring. I have 13 in my collection. One is a 5 inch rolling pin glass float.
During the winter months I go out during storms and after high tides. The key is to go at dark and. early morning to find stuff. During the daylight hours only on an incoming tide.
The mats and helmets are from the Zim Kingston container ship. It caught fire off the west coast of Vancouver Island and lost over 100 containers of goods.
😁👋👍👍👏👏💕🙏🏻 Thank you for sharing this episode. And mega big time thanks for cleaning up the beach. Have you talked to the Department of Natural Resources or any of your government municipalities? That are in charge of beaches. And asked them if you can use their dumpsters. For the beach waste that you pick up. It seems like that's the least they can do.
Can you imagine floating out in the water and feeling something bump into you, turning around and seeing the top to one of those Mad max helmets/. Guaranteed heart failure.
Hubs said here a short while ago, a container ship lost about 30+ containers up in Port Angeles. There was a seriously low Capital Lake today and debris all floating where there actually was water for it to float.
They were full of holes. It looked like the seabirds used them like flying carpets of the sea. They are made of a foam rubber and, have a thin clear plastic that was coming off.
The pots u found were oyster cages and u would have a line of them all on roaps and a anker so they brake the shell bit by bit and keep there shape good for the byers
Such cool stuff. I would love to beach comb there. Did a container of helmets go overboard or what? Went to an island near Port Aransas, TX once and I called it garbage island. Also had tons of stuff off ships. It was awful. First time viewer. I would love to see more of this.
Those aren't barnacles on that helmet, nor are they oysters or clams..... they're mussels. Neat finds though. almost 2 years ago I booked a couple charters from Westport for Albacore and ling cod which was a great experience and the fishing was exceptional too.
Surely if you collect all the helmets and play mats and take them to the local council rubbish depot and explain you have been cleaning up the beach they would take them and discard them for free ?????? 😀😀
The State parks in my area at the beach approaches have mini parks and bathrooms with garbage cans. People do leave the beach trash at the garbage cans and, it is picked up by the park workers. If it is a big block of foam I'll leave that there as well.
I dont know in anyone cares but this Blankets with the Letters on it were used in a german survival Show called 7 vs wild .Ohne off the teams found such an exakt blanked on the first Day off the challenge .The found IT on Vancouver and hope Island in kanada
There is a thin plastic film that is loose on most of the mats and, the birds rode them like flying carpets of the sea. The pecked hundreds of divots making the mats look like craters of the moon. I donated them to the Westports museum .
You ever thought of giving those children place mats to some organization that gives those mats for people that can't pay for them. You could clean them.
Most of the stuff is no good. I donated the mats that were in ok condition and all the bike helmets to our local maritime museum. The rest goes into the garbage. I also repurpose some of the plastic floats into planters.
I could show you the speech down in Baja where when the big storms come in it pulls all of the trash and junk from the ocean from India ocean and also where China and Japan are and brings all kinds of glass floats and weird stuff up on the beach
So Claims Barnacle Bill The Sailor at The Local Pub !!!! But The NAVY Claims That The Most Expensive One’s are Those That Are Scrapped Off The Fighter Ships , That Seamen Scrape Off For Punishment For Screwing Up and Breaking Rules , Over The Side With You Mate Hanging off a Rope , Like a Bar of Soap , 8 Hours Minimum maybe 6 in High Seas !!!!
No money just donated to the Westport Washington Museum for their display of things that are lost at sea. Too much garbage to collect by myself. When I cut up the bad play mats they fill up my trash can quickly. I do collect the stuff that I can reuse or give away but, not for money.
I appreciate those that care about mother earth and do thier best to pick up other peoples garbage. Thankyou.
Why is this so much fun? I like watching them mucking the Thames also.

Central Oregon coast, we’re finding bicycle helmets…. Lots of them!!!! 4-8-23
Oh, the view of the endless beach. Thank you for cleaning up.
hopefully you'll find a nice bale of green bud, It'll make those beach strolls 10 times more enjoyable
There are some really nice pieces of driftwood too. I enjoyed the video.

To all you ppls out there, every day is EARTH DAY, do your part and pick up your ENVIRONMENT 😊 !

You are Great man.❤❤❤
Thank you for doing this!
Good job mate.
Good job bro!
Can you imagine floating out in the water and feeling something bump into you, turning around and seeing the top to one of those Mad max helmets/. Guaranteed heart failure.
Good work. Be safe
That's very good that you're picking up trash as well as finding goodies on the beach 😂❤
Hubs said here a short while ago, a container ship lost about 30+ containers up in Port Angeles. There was a seriously low Capital Lake today and debris all floating where there actually was water for it to float.
I love the ocean areas. There is so much for me to do and to make videos sometimes not expecting to.
i'm a scavenger at heart would love to do this
You will be the best looking guy at the skate park 😂
in the old days the floats found on pacific beaches were made of glass
Fascinating video. The packrat in me says "wash those blanket things off and give em to people who need em". Not sure if that would even be possible.
They were full of holes. It looked like the seabirds used them like flying carpets of the sea. They are made of a foam rubber and, have a thin clear plastic that was coming off.
I'm just curious, why would you hide the name on the bouy's? Why would it matter if people knew who's gear it was?
super netjes dat je alles opgeruimd hebt aan het strand
Very interesting 🤔
good job cleaning up.
All that black sand you should've set up the high banker and start shoveling till you seen gold in the mats.
The play mats would work good as a weed barrier on the ground for gardening.
Very interesting. I think that one helmet is made to attach Leggo figures on it. Did you google FMP FARM re those floating cages?
Flip Farm, it is cages for oysters. I googled it.
The pots u found were oyster cages and u would have a line of them all on roaps and a anker so they brake the shell bit by bit and keep there shape good for the byers
All that wood just waiting to be picked up for winter.
lots of good loot out there
now that you're here why don't you take all things to clean up the beach well . dont stop you do a good job as well

I thought they stopped producing those glass floats in the 70's?!
Lol I just got my son the same exact helmet for his 3rd birthday
Thank you.
Japanese Emergency Hard Hats !!!
I found one of those same skateboard helmets with red spikes in the ocean. Sechelt inlet BC
In the last winter I found two that were unicorn bike helmets in broken and old condition as if it was from a different container
Those aren't barnacles on that helmet, nor are they oysters or clams..... they're mussels. Neat finds though. almost 2 years ago I booked a couple charters from Westport for Albacore and ling cod which was a great experience and the fishing was exceptional too.
I hope you are carrying some bear spray or a 10mm. I saw several bear tracks.
at a beach here in oregon theres people who plant glass floats on the beach
those helmets are sold at wal marts
Those playmates look more like furniture moving covers.
Seems like a lot of black sand there, might want to pan for gold?
at 2:50 those are oyster housing for when they start out
We used to find those Japanese glass floats in Hawaii as kids.
I have found only 14 small ones 2 inch up to 3 inches and one 5 inch rolling pin float. The collection I have has taken me 20 years to find.
Should be getting ready for all that radiation water to hit the west coast bring your gagger counter!!!!!!
Surely if you collect all the helmets and play mats and take them to the local council rubbish depot and explain you have been cleaning up the beach they would take them and discard them for free ?????? 😀😀

Those playmats could easily be cleaned!!
There is a thin plastic film that is loose on most of the mats and, the birds rode them like flying carpets of the sea. The pecked hundreds of divots making the mats look like craters of the moon. I donated them to the Westports museum .
Those play matts could be given to salvation army or day care places. If they have a hole, no problem.
More like hundreds of holes and a thin layer of plastic was separating from the foam rubber. I donated to the local museum.
Not sure if you're still answering these comments but where is this? Is this Oregon or Washington?
lot of black sand on that beach you sure theres not gold there
“ do my part?” Have the them pick it up. 😊
Looks like you found it either a Walmart or an Amazon container that child's playmat is 15 to $30 depending upon which store you get it at
I live in Arizona, so we don't have the stuff you guys find. I can only find trash.
I’m sure they’ll be right over to pick that crap up. 🤣🤣🤣
Pure Flotsam and Jetsam.
Insurance claim.
You ever thought of giving those children place mats to some organization that gives those mats for people that can't pay for them. You could clean them.
Cheap Chinese junk that has spent months in the sea. They're literally coming apart.
Where are u located? Fascinating video!
Westport Washington
I hope you checked the dead oysters for their pearls...
I have a video out there on looking for pearls in limits of oysters.
I've always wanted to do beach combing but idk wher to start
On a beach?
Are you going to sell those things you find or give them to charity?
Looks fun, what do you do with all the stuff you find?
Most of the stuff is no good. I donated the mats that were in ok condition and all the bike helmets to our local maritime museum. The rest goes into the garbage. I also repurpose some of the plastic floats into planters.
I could show you the speech down in Baja where when the big storms come in it pulls all of the trash and junk from the ocean from India ocean and also where China and Japan are and brings all kinds of glass floats and weird stuff up on the beach
You for picking up items on the beach
6:17 Aren't thoes barnacles the real expensive ones?
So Claims Barnacle Bill The Sailor at The Local Pub !!!! It’s an outdoor patio mat for camping
The impending doom of our sea's the impending doom of our polluting ways nay they say but to keep them clean only to strife and toil in many ways
Not our polluting ways...Their polluting ways. I certainly dont do this.
using the names you find, do you actually notify thrm and do they collect thier gear ?????
How do u get the barnacles off???
I pull them off. They also dry up and scrape off.
You had the town's name correct, except there is no Mc to it.
Guy up Alaska finds glass from Japan in the grass

⭐️⭐️CLEAN THEM & SELL THEM‼️‼️‼️
$20 each those helmets
That's the filthiest beach I've ever seen.
Pollution 🥺
Hopefully animals haven't been eating them at sea.
Raskull helmet Walmart 19.98. 👷
Why didn't you pick up the litter you found? You were driving a truck with a lot of room in the back!
13:52?
YOu would need a much bigger truck. Perhaps you could help.
He left that for you
It’s always the female commenters wanting others to do stuff but never see them being the ones clean beaches
