More Jack videos please!
came down here to say this as well!
I would love for Jack to properly explain water resistance and its maintenance!
Agreed. It’s hard to understand why watches can’t say “waterproof” but aren’t actually water resistant to the depth rating they advertise
You’re back and only now I realize how dearly I’ve missed you. 🙏
Jack is back!
Well written and delivered. Great storytelling. Looking forward to more.
Keep this going. We love Jack!!
If Jack were a watch he’d be a George Daniels. Utterly splendid and utterly rare. And definitely worth it
I love seeing Jack again. He is a gem!
Awesome history lesson in watches in less than 6 minutes -> Jack: ,hold my beer‘
Some of the best watch content ever. Please come back with more.
I miss the drinking bird but great to have you back! Looking forward to the next one.
An instant click! I love these informational, non-biased watch videos. Jack is one of the best at it!
Mechanical watches are an artform, like all art, to those that get it, feel it and enjoy it, it's worth it.
Great content, as always, Jack!
I love these short videos from Jack!
Loved the information density!
I always learn something watching you, Jack.
More please 🎉
Definitely having been missing this high level content from you. Keep it coming! …please. 🙏🏻
Finally back !!!! Thank you, sir.
Why have we only had like 3 Jack videos in over a year? Seriously.
The question is becoming increasingly, what is the 'it' and how was it arrived at? When prices in luxury watches are increasing far more than wages have increased, the pool of potential buyers reduces more and more and interest in collecting decreasing commensurately.
Good to see Jack Forster back in action.
In the end the watch market, like any other, is a market of supply and demand. So prices will only be at levels where enough people are able and willing to pay.
@@Armoer The is true. However luxury goods have an added dimension in that the customer experience is extremely important and customers / clients of luxury goods and services are usually very discerning of the service they receive. The watch market has begun to move back from profiteers to the enthusiast but I'm not at all sure that the enthusiast is ready to accept the price rises caused by the profiteering.
5:21 interesting that y’all chose Lagerfeld’s RO for the image
Thank you. Lucidly spoken.
Nice job Jack! I’ve always enjoyed your videos and conversations going back to Hodinkee.
Great video. Thank you. By the way "xh" in Rexhep Rexhepi is pronounced as "g" in Georgia
Or "J" in Joy
Great topic Jack
Great to see Jack
It’s great to see Jack. I really like him.
I love Neil Patel's article about his experience with luxury watches. That explains their value very clearly.
mind sharing that article or its title?
@@abdulsohu google dammit
Jack, I’d be interested in a video where you explain how to assess value for money in a luxury watch. Is there a way to determine, between two watches one likes equally, which of the two offers the most value?
If I can just get to be half as well spoken as Jack Forster, I’d feel like a true accomplished gentleman.
Please, do explain Jack!
Finally! More Jack
Hello Jack , There is a criteria you mentioned that I thought I'd touch on. The movement finishing where there is true hand finishing is rare with only the likes of Greubel and Roger Smith, semi hand finished where even Patek my fall into since cotes de Geneve is hand assisted and this means Grand Seiko as well and finally, industrial finishing with the likes of Omega, JLC , may be not fair I haven't listed G.S here. I am in some what of emotional pain because even though majority of today's watches are heavily industralized, industrialized movement finishing has been around since the early 40's from what I have observed with vintage watches. However, early industrial movements were freaking gorgeous, lets go later and mention Omega seamaster 120, look at that calibre for God's sake, it is an art that is missing today and needs to come back to the main stream. However, I have to give an honorable shout out to G.S with their 9SA5, new spring drive calibre, even the older spring drive calibre, Nomos, Dornbluth, Blancpain etc. Even simple finishing with the ETA 2892 from older Omega models still possess some of that romantic quality. Now we have the ugly 2824, go to Tissot and take a look at their 2824, even Longines slacked with their anniversary dress watch model (The one with engraved Breguet Numerals)
I'm going to thoroughly enjoy this series, could Jack explain why a quartz watch's second hand ticks, while the minute & hour hands seem to sweep?
Love Jack!
My man, Jack!

Jack is free! #FreeJack
watches just need to speak to you. the fact that theyre functionally irrelevant makes the debate perfect. nobody actually needs a watch. just go with your heart with this. just watch the budget....
Spot on
Interesting
Jack! Jack! Jack!
this watch philosophy!
The simple answer to is it worth it is No ! As time pieces they aren't worth it. But as art, craftsmanship, skill etc YEs they are
Hey Hodinkee meets Watchbox?
Red
Damm he's good
All said, no, taking a ready design and changing the dial color doesn't make it Your watch designed better than all APs.
Scripted Jack is still better than 99% of the content out there
Roger W Smith……….thats it really.
REEEEEED... Black? OK, black.
LOL
I’d rather have you engage in conversation on a topic like this. Despite you being knowledgeable, such an autocue read set of statements is not that great to be honest.
A movie about Abraham Breguet or Peter Henlein would be interesting .
Abraham Louis Breguet was the most Legendary Watchmaker in history , alongside with Peter Henlein but he didn't make any wristwatches .
