Louise always says things like 'oh this isn't my best but at least I tried something new' and then shows us something 100x better than anything I could imagine painting in my life. Can't believe how much she underrates her talents
I'm considering a Chaos Chosen Blood Bowl team, Rainbow Coalition. Each player with have different colored armor. I'm not crazy enough to paint a rainbow on each player. 😁
That Bold Titanium white is insane!....great....but witch crafty. Also Sugs I love your Goblin....im gonna paint a bunch up in icky skin tones...and you'll hate me for it Mwhahahaha!
You get a like for showing the "alternative way of shading" with such a nice educational visual example. I am myself stuck in the GW "base-wash-highlight/drybrush" way of thinking, so maybe I will have to try this (for me) new way of shading miniatures. In the video you also mention that you like to go ham when painting. It would be interesting to see a video where you go over rare or weird ways to paint your miniatures - like maybe using a sponge, wiping paint off, colorshift paints, and similar unconventional things.
@@gregmccormack5709 Yeah I am in a similar thought process, a glowing frog and some kind of reflection in the eyes. Though I didn't think of the eyes until I read it here.
BEST NEW GOBLIN!!!! 😍😍😍 BEST NEW SHIRT!!!! 🌈🌈🌈 I felt exactly the same way when I discovered pro acryl!!!!! It's my go to range now as well, and now I'm so excited to try out the florescents!!! Great vid and amazing paint job ✨✨✨
Wonderful miniature for the range and a superb journey of painting exploration to accompany it's release. Brilliant video. PS the goblin music is just the best thing ever.
I also made the switch to go for a controlled recessed shade and will neverrrr go back! This was so satisfying to watch 😍 I can’t wait to paint my own RH-003
Omfg! Yeeeeeahh! My emotional progression re the shirt: - "Oh cool I love tie dye, props for having awesome style." - "Oh you're telling me that I can actually purchase such a lovely T" - "Oh wait, that rainbow tie dye looks familiar..." - "Oh what!?! A rainbow warriors tie dye, rogue hobbies T-shirt" - "insufficient funds. Sweet jeez! F it pay day is only 3 days away" - *sets alarm in phone for 3 days time*
Looks fantastic, definately agree with trashing the rules and just trying stuff. Side question have you even looked at the goblins for Moonstone, would love to see what you can do with those scuplts
Have you ever read a book called The Goblin Companion by Brian Froud & Terry Jones? Your miniatures really remind me of that kind of Labyrinth style. They look amazing either way!
If you (or anyone else) is looking for inspiration for non traditional miniature painting methods, Murray at tabletoptime does some really interesting painting (the "this is not a dreadnought" video is a great example!
I had purple swamp goblins in a homebrew D&D campaign I ran. They lived in roaming villages on the backs of giant turtles, they also worshipped an ancient black dragon.
Absolutely fantastic work on this wonderful little dude! Thank you for reminding us to push ourselves and get out of our comfort zones. And thank you for being transparent with your uncertainty as you worked through this project. It's a good reminder that even the people we look up to in the hobby can struggle at times with trying new things.
Love this video! I get stuck in my old ways of painting miniatures in schemes I'm familiar with. When I try to think outside of the box (maybe even box art) I always think that it's going to look weird or not confident I can pull it off. You have inspired me to give it a try, Thank you
Such a beautiful paint job, so much life to the mini that little guy is practically jumping out of the screen! I have a set of Troggoths that I’m looking forward to painting and this has really inspired me to try a new approach with them.
I think this is the best miniature painting I have ever seen. Great video and thank you so much for all you do to motivate and teach us. what a legend.
Reminds me of my Grot skin experimentation when I did a base coat of random colours, purple/blue/red etc before building up with various greens. Very enjoyable and strangely everything works, no wrong answers just fun and finished models. Another glorious Goblin Louise. I am keeping hope alive that GW will revive the Forest Goblins in Old World so I can get back to my favourite wacky goblins with warpaint and feathers galore.
Absolutely wonderful. Love the color depth on every detail. Fluorescents are so fun. I just started exploring them on my tyranids. Keep up the great work!
The design of this little twilight goblin guy is awesome, and I love the paint scheme you chose. I think it came out very well, especially the fluorescent paints under the blacklight which is a neat hidden touch. I had to immediately order the model and the tie-dye shirt! Let's hope they get to the U.S. okay.
Miss, I think you have found your own style, and you don't give yourself enough credit. Please keep up with your own way of doing things. This little character is one of my most favorite things I've seen in a long time. VERY Original! I love it!
Great results! I sometimes divert from the usual 40K unit painting into more fun projects that stretch my painting abilities. I had a great time with the Noise Marine. Pink and purple leopard print and a blue and yellow zebra pattern were a lot of fun and turned out well. My next whimsical project will be the Fellgore Ravagers painted in schemes inspired by the Muppets and Monsters Inc. characters. These projects are a great way to recharge my hobby batteries.
Yaas Queen! Preach. Washes have a use but I've been off washes for a long while. In addition to the inefficiencies you mentioned gravity doesn't put washes where shadows go, so it can make it harder to make the model look right.
My biggest challenge I actually find is that I'm pretty sure I'm declining as a miniature painter even though I spend more time painting than ever before. I almost never do projects anymore that push my skills or are aimed at being as nice as possible. Rather, I spend all my time pumping out high volume projects as rapidly as possible. (Though I would say I am getting surprisingly good at pumping out like 2000pts of models in 2 weeks that look good but skills like blending and edge highlighting are just rusting away and I was never good at them to begin with) By the way your paint job is incredible on this guy! Well done!
... this was... awesome! Your skills... are fantastic, and your miniatures: amazing. Could you create some gnome/machine-elve miniatures... the goblins' uncorrupted fae'-siblings? Would love to have the greatest of fantasy ideologies battling-it-out through your lineup, on both-sides, in a dynamic/cute, internecine battle of wild inventors and inventions. Maybe some animal-helpers sprinkled-in, here and there, carrying their curious implements of war... and supporting the war-effort... in the most adorable-way possible. Much respect to your talent...
This might be my favorite thing you have painted so far. It looks amazing, and just watching the process gave me a ton of inspiration. Amazing video as always!
Another great video Louise! I have just ordered this new miniature from the store! I will now have all three of the Rascal town goblins (yay!) :) I have nearly finished painting the fishing goblin after much back and forth with colour schemes and have used mainly Pro Acryl as these are my favourite paint range.
Awesome video. I love the super colourful goblin hopefully in the future you go ultra goblin and paint it with bright colours and fluorescent. Keep up the good work.
I have been painting off and on for well longer then you have, been earth. Always thought that washing and redoing everything was more work. I must try this. Thanks
I stumbled onto Pro Acryl while looking for a burnt orange a few months ago and have since been buying up all the really rich bright colours. I also love how they name their paints
This video has really gotten me pumped to try changing up my color habits! Great quality video and editing plus just a fun tone all around definitely subscribing for more :)
Didn’t realize this was a new channel, feels like you’ve been doing it forever. Will listen to more videos while painting my first World Eaters Berserkers. Cheers from USA.
That paint job is amazing! 😃 The glazes on the monochrome metal really add a painterly quality. With that spiked club and mad, rave paint job, I feel the goblin should be called "Bonkers".
I don't own a single miniature and I don't have any idea how to even hold a brush... and yet here I am, watching 20 minutes of this, amazed by the little glowy purple guy. Incredible work!
It’s really cool to see an expert painter break out of their comfort zone and try something complete different from the way they were fundamentally trained. And the rave shrooms are absolutely brilliant.
OMG what an amazing lil guy you painted ! I love porple and I love goblins. 💜 I really like your metallics there, reminds me of how Rackham studio used to paint their minis. I love those colored shades in the metals. Great job again, Louise ! 👍
Knight Goblin! I didn't get the joke until you showed off the box! Great job, I just recently bought a couple of Pro Acryl paints and I'm impressed with how they perform. Me personally though? I'm itching to try out the Scale 75 Drop and Paint Kickstarter paints I got. I've recently started planning out a diorama where those Pro Acryl Flourescent paints might come in handy. The Fluo paints I own currently are really weak and feeble so something with more consistency and coverage would be really appreciated. I love your enthusiasm, it's highly contagious, but I relate to the feeling of trepidation when trying something new. Glad to see it turned out so well.
Great video, I love the paint scheme. I have been waiting for you to release this little guy. I picked the terrain bundle, that little guy in the barrel looks great. Thanks Louise.
Glorious little gobbo, I must have one! I'm a sucker for bilious green skin with violet clothes, but he's adorable. Probably not a scheme for an army, but it fits your more whimsical model perfectly. Glad this popped up in my feed, subbed for the vibes and unique style😊
He's so good! Thank you for the shout out, now he can keep the other purple dude company on guard duty.

Talents are a lie... this 100% hard work and Study ❤
I knew nothing of warhammer before rogue hobbies and I still dont but i love the videos and the energy! ❤
For me, this has to be the best thing you've painted. The secret fluorescent parts are amazing.
I think so too, I think I'm getting better with every goblin I do ☺️
"All hail The Queen of the Goblins!"
"Hail!"
Don't lie, you're just secretly introducing us to the Rainbow Goblins faction
👀
😂
@@roguehobbiesPerhaps she wasn't but now she is.

Every time I hear your custom music, I picture a goblin going to town on an electric piano lol
Congratulations you accurately pictured me making music

All hail Hypno-toad!
I am amazed by your ability to pain such small details... That's an incredible piece of art!
You did it I just got some of that glowing pro acrylic for my skyre skaven going to put the red on the eyes and the green on the warpstone and pipes
A night Goblin living in a dungeon would have been perfect with eyes glowing in the dark!
I was thinking the same thing! glowing eyes and a glowing magic Froggy too.
@@gregmccormack5709 Yeah I am in a similar thought process, a glowing frog and some kind of reflection in the eyes. Though I didn't think of the eyes until I read it here.
LUV the fluorescent paints! 🍄🍄🍄

Your incredible cartoonish style inspires me to learn properly paint display minis. All what you paint are so organic and lively. Kudos!
Goblins usually aren't my thing but I love that little guy. Especially the magic frog 🐸
The frog is fantastic. I hope the frog shows up as it's own model when the second series of minis comes out

A goblin/ork themed astartes would be cool too
Now we need a video of Louis painting a goblin in every skin colour. For science. And the goblin rainbow
I had purple swamp goblins in a homebrew D&D campaign I ran. They lived in roaming villages on the backs of giant turtles, they also worshipped an ancient black dragon.
WOAH the secret fluorescent paint looks amazing, definitely want to do something with them in the future
I appreciate your energy and style, thanks for being.

this is honestly one of the most beautiful paint jobs i've seen in ages, well done!
What a lovely little guy! You've made me want to paint goblins! Well played.
This little frog wizard is probably the cutest thing. Love the pain job and sculpt overall.
Phenomenal Art, buddy
Man, what did I just watch? A purple goblin glowing in the dark? I didn't know that I wanted such a goblin so badly. 😱 Just awesome!

What a delightful guy! Love the effort to push yourself, the fun you're having, and the result is phenomenal!
Looks awesome. I loved how the purple looked with the black armor bits, a different more somber mini could look really cool like that
Super cool! Despite all the little things you were worried about, it really came together. It has given me some ideas on how I want to use purple too!
this is my absolute favorite video about miniatures and painting. So Inspiring!!
