Congratulations on the Baby! Parenting is a tough job, but also very rewarding. Hang in there, it gets easier. Thanks for the vide. I am about to finish building my 3 editions worth of stormcasts and was looking for a color scheme.
I really enjoyed the video! A good showcase for simple method to achieve very good results! A tip for masking tape, after applying the tape brush on some matte varnish oder airbrush it on, let it dry then paint the non-masked area. The varnish seals the seams of the tape, so you elminate the "bleeding" under the tape. Have a great day, wish you all the best!
Great Video! my son introduced me to War Hammer and I found your channel, he is 12 and busy painting and collecting Tyranids, I enjoy your videos and honest reviews , especially when you try out different paint colours and new paint colours from different brands, I’m learning from your channel, keep it up. Enjoy the time with your baby, very soon he/she will be all grown up and introducing you to new hobbies 😊Cheers!
awesome video. thanks for it and for all those color schemes PLUS I love it that you keep it so cool and didnt cut the laughing part out . That makes you extremly sympathetic
Yeah, I remember watching her "My girlfriend learns painting from a Peachy tutorial" video, and she's come quite a way from that. That's some nice work on those Stormcast.
Wonderful to see a new video from you guys! Also congratulations again on the birth of your healthy and sounds like happy baby boy! I hope that his big sister is enjoying being just that and is not too jealous of him!
I'm exactly the same. I collect more than I play, and I just love the history and lore of stuff. Was great to see all these factions and learn a little about them!
What a fantastic & useful video - great idea and much appreciated :) We love Broadsword Wargaming, complete with baby noises - true team effort. Thank you!
Never change guys, always love your energy and humour! As for Storm-host?! Gotta go with the Celestial Vindicators, probably coz their scheme is pretty much what I went with for my Spacemarine chapter =D
Congrats on your baby! Enjoy the time! On a hobby note: this really helped me decide on how to paint my skaventide box. The designs in the book are ok'ish, but seeing them done in an 'doable by mortals' standard, really is another thing, thank you!
Great video! Love when you do these things. I’m not sure which is my favorite- just really nice to see something different than the gold (love the purples, blues, blacks, greens, reds and silvers)
There's a lot of great stormhost schemes, but I find myself most attracted to the one's that follow the Hallowed Knights' template. The Stormblood Guard and Radiant Sons of Sigmar speak to me in particular.
congratulations on your Baby!.. thanks for doing this.. I like the Lightening one or the standard gold one. but was interesting in seeing all the different combos. Thanks
Love this video! Im super new to the hobby as in dont even have a mini yet, but its really daunting when coming to picking the colors i wanna go. I would love to see more AoS army color schemes like this O: Knowing what kind of paints to start with early would be a tremendous help. Either way amazing vid, grats on the bby!!
I was totally not ready to see Polish beer in this video;) Anyway - I like your channel and you have my subscription. Thanks for helping me in the visualisation of the color schemes, I needed this before I crack open my Skaventide box
My favourite are the Hallowed Knights and (your version of) the Radiant Suns of Sigmar 😍 I really like the green you used much better than the one in the drawing. I'd looove colour guide for those 2, I'm probably starting a new Stormcast army soon, so that be great 😁
Nice to see that you guys were able to get a video out, I know the little one has made your already busy lives even more hectic. Great job painting up the Stormcast, I liked the gold with purple trim a lot but I would try purple with a silver metallic of medium darkness if I were painting an army myself.
Awesome video, and great painting! Do you mind sharing the colors you used for the Radiant Sons? Looks like a mid-tone green followed by a blue contrast paint? Love the effect!
I just painted mine how I like and I ended to much like the Ghyran Guard. Perfect since I love Ghyran and the Sylvaneth as well! I used Caliban green, but I found it a touch too dark. I may have to try Incubi Darkness. What did you use to highlight the green?
Hello hello, really helpfull video for me thanks a lot for all these ideas. I was wondering what was the color combos for the green parts in the very last version ? thanks for your time
Are you sure your Knights of the Aurora are actually in Plaguebearer and not something more bluegreen like Aeldari Emerald? Seems not remotely yellow enough to be Plaguebearer, especially on the shoulder pads
Just on the Knights of the Aurora, definitely Plaguebearer flesh? Just I have a bottle of it at home and it's more yellow-green t Vs the Blue-green that it looks in the video 😅 Could be just me, great video all around and some lovely inspiration ideas too👍
The exact video I needed after picking up the Skaventide box! What greens/teals were used for the Radiant Sons of Sigmar? I think that's what I want to go with!
Very handy video. Managed to dig up a whole bunch of the push-fit Stormcast from the Mortal Realms partwork, which is handy as they are the same miniatures from several Underworlds warbands and thinking of painting each warband as a separate Stormhost.
The gorkamorka box in the background is GREAT, love that game. I don't play AoS but if I did I wouldn't play the sigmarines, probably skaven or orcs. The shield design on the crimson seraphs is alright, maybe if their armor was red instead of gold they'd be better.
Good spot, I forgot to move it. I'm not saying I have filmed an entire Gorkamorka video or anything.. but maybe keep your eyes peeled for the next video or two. 😀 A few people like the crimson Serpahs!
Just picked up the stormcast eternals starter paint kit and cracked out my very first 3 minis ever, and I was thinking the whole time about what cool schemes there could be. Maybe I’ll try some of these out next
Great video! Definitely sharing with newer AoS players who are starting with stormcast! For the Blooded Dawn, the armor is supposed to turquoise with a magenta accent color, not green.
Using Guilliman Flesh as a wash over gold is an interesting technique. I'll have to try it. I'd have thought it would make the gold look too pink-ish, but it looks great in the video so it's probably worth a go.
For the tape peel. It works the same as it does for wall painting. 1) Paint everything in base color (here white) 2) Put tape on in preferred pattern 3) paint everything (including the tape) again with base color (here white) 4) Now paint the non tape sections in preferred accent color 5) Beautiful crisp lines after tape peel
Also, you could use a varnish with a similar finish as the base layer, if you do not plan on doing a overall protective varnish after all the painting is done, on that tape edgeline. Both ways tend to be very good for preventing paint bleeding and leaving a nice crisp line once the tape is pulled.
Ciara is friggin' adorable. It is amazing to think just a few years ago she hadn't ever painted a model. Nice indoctrination Olly! Now to start working on Anders...
Hey! I recall having to improvise a bit since I couldn’t quite match the exact colors. I', certain I started with a base of Kabalite Green, but then applied a wash over it. It was likely either Biel-Tan Green, Coelia Greenshade, or possibly even Akhelian Green (Contast). It was tricky to get that color just right. I'd say you won't be far off with those combos.
Im curious to ask, in the UK do you guys have those bi-monthly magazines that sell a few sprues, paints etc? In Switzerland, i picked up a few issues for the models (dont play AoS but wanted the pretty models). First one was insanely priced for its content, it had a sprue of 4 Stormcast with shield and giant maces, 10 rattleghosts and the ultra basic rules for it for like...3chf (that'd be like 2 and a half quid, insane like i said), more recent ones went up to around 15chf/13pounds and the content varied. I had to pick up the one with the griffin-dog thing and the Hero unit (which even at 13pounds is still cheaper than GW will EVER sell a single model for). Those seem like a great way to quickly fill up a table (especially if getting the early packs with the largest content). Just wondering if its an exclusive thing here or not.
Are they called strombringer or something? I'm in ireland and they're hard to get hold of, but pretty popular in the UK. They did the 40k versions too. They're crazy cheap!
@@BroadswordWargaming Thats the one yes! Here they're subtitle "Battles of the Age of Sigmar" in french, but even in swiss terms of money they're still stupidly underpriced 9 times out of 10 for their content. Weirdly, i dont think we had the 40k equivalent here surprisingly. EDit: actually. No, strangely its not the same magazine. The content of the Stormbringer one isnt at all the same. This one has a character and some Orks while the serie that's running here is Stormcasts vs ghosts of some sort. Interesting.
Hey! Very nice work, could you please tell me what "lighter" silver you used to drybrush the Hallow Knights after basecoating it in Leadbelcher? The way you painted it seems simple and quick, just what I need. Tyvm
I thought the video title just meant "all the new miniatures in the Skaventide box". All the actual hosts? You guys are brave! Also wondering which blue you used on the Hallowed Knights.

Using Guilliman Flesh as a wash over gold is an interesting technique. I'll have to try it. I'd have thought it would make the gold look too pink-ish, but it looks great in the video so it's probably worth a go.
It's become our go-to for good now. It dries a little darker, with a more even finish. Highlights up really well too! Give it a go. 😀
Contrast washes on metallics are great. Darkoath flesh and fireslayer flesh also give some nice results depending on what's underneath.
I will watch as many of these for as many factions as you're willing to paint over and over and over.
Good to know! I have plans.. they just take forever haha
5:12 that one is my favorite one, and the one that’s sorta “crimson fists but as GroundMarines”
For the tape peel. It works the same as it does for wall painting.
1) Paint everything in base color (here white)
2) Put tape on in preferred pattern
3) paint everything (including the tape) again with base color (here white)
4) Now paint the non tape sections in preferred accent color
5) Beautiful crisp lines after tape peel
Nice paintibg tutorial, greetings from Mexico!
Hello over there!
When masking if you go over with the base colour first then the purple should be OK. Iron Warriors so learned this over time. All look good though,
Good tip! :)
Also, you could use a varnish with a similar finish as the base layer, if you do not plan on doing a overall protective varnish after all the painting is done, on that tape edgeline.

Awesome video! Complete beginner here, could you share the paints used on the Crimson Seraphs?
I realy love the the Lions of Simgmar, they look so awesome ^^. Can you tell me again wich purple you used?
3:05 I have to nip out to the shop and pick up some Holy Fervor™. Thanks for the reminder!
Stock up!
Congrats on the baby👍🏼
Thank you!
Hey! Very nice work, could you please tell me what "lighter" silver you used to drybrush the Hallow Knights after basecoating it in Leadbelcher? The way you painted it seems simple and quick, just what I need. Tyvm
Hey! Yeah, no problem. It was Stormhost SIlver on the Hallowed Knight. If you wanted it even shinier, you could drybrush with Necron Compound. :)
@@BroadswordWargaming Great! I have both, will get to work asap! Thanks a bunch
Hi there - how did you paint the bright red for the stormblood guard scheme? Thanks for your help!
I thought the video title just meant "all the new miniatures in the Skaventide box". All the actual hosts? You guys are brave! Also wondering which blue you used on the Hallowed Knights.
Yeah, ahah, it took us a while (especially with the new little one). The Blue was Kantor Blue! :)
BABY NOISES. Been there. Love it.
