Loved the Timp1 (even if the forefoot was a little sloppy), hated the 2, hiked the entire Florida Trail in the 3, Loved the drainage on the 4 (also hiked the Nakasendo Trail in them), tried on the 5 and was reminded of the Topo Athletic 1st gen boot that tried to saw my toes off with the fabric on the forefoot...maybe I'll try the Boa. Kind of think the boa would be great in the mid to latter part of a long hike (after 700 - 800 miles) as my foot swelling begins to be more common.
Absolutely hated the Timp 5 personally. Found the upper super uncomfortable and not breathable. Also thought it ran a bit small. Sounds like the Boa version might have fixed some of that so may give it a try
In boa'd carbons I felt the round box heavily pishing through the material on my foot. Like a rock inside. Did you feel this little black thing while running?
Yes the BOA system adds some weight. Went back and grabbed two same sizes and the same size were about 0.7 ounces of differences. However, on foot it doesn't feel like it at all. Felt light and agile on foot.
If a Lone Peak or road shoe gets boa I'd be on it immediately. I remember Topo Athletic having one at some point though it was 5mm drop.

It was a surprise to me as well when I tried it on. Maybe we just need a BOA is our life!

How is the weight of the boa vs the original? I’ve heard to stay away from speedland due to the added weight factor from the boa dials

I wish all shoes had a boa lacing system!
Laces are thousands of years old... c'mon shoe industry!!
