I studied at NTNU's Mandarin Training Center way back in 1989. I thought the teachers were good but I felt like the school was segregated from the University so it was more difficult to interact with the local NTNU students. The school had shorter semesters (3 months) so it attracted all kinds of learners. As a result, there was more turnover in the classes and the teachers were not that demanding of the students.
Short-legged turtle Yeah I agree and that's definitely still a thing unfortunately. They do have activities where you have a chance to meet local students but its rather limited and lots of students don't really participate. Definitely one downside of studying at NTNU. But they do have the language exchange you can do through the school which is nice. And I have randomly met students here and there from NTNU but nothing really goes beyond that.
I want to know how i can get a university to do my graduate program in a business major in Taiwan, that the University Gives a Guarantee Letter to enable the Taiwan Embassy in Nigeria, issue a Study visa easily, more than 20 universities i Have Applied and got their Admissions in Taiwan, end up not giving Guarantee Letter, and the Taiwan embassy in Nigeria, needs this Letter from a representative in the university in Taiwan, before issuing a study visa, to come study in Taiwan
Heyyy don't know if you'll be able to answer this at this point haha but you said you went to Taiwan like 3 months earlier than the start of your program, and i'm just wondering how that worked with your visa? That's something I've been wondering about cause I thought that you could only get a visa for the duration of your studies, but I've also been thinking that going a month or two early would be nicer!
Yes, so I took a more unconventional route to get my Student visa. I would first check with relations to your country w/ Taiwan before considering doing this for I am not sure if the rules have changed since covid (prob not) and visas look different from country to country. With a US passport, you can fly to Taiwan w/o a visa and stay for 3 months max, so that's what I did. Before my studies began, I flew out of Taiwan to Hong Kong to get a Visitor Visa (which is a 6 month visa, I needed this visa in order to get the Student one) then flew back in, and then covered that visa to the Student visa through NTNU. If you're able to with your country, skip a step and get a Visitor Visa before you arrive so you have time to go around and hang out and then start school before your Visitor Visa expires, stay in Taiwan, and convert to the Student Visa.
@@nnedi5971 Ah! Thank you so much, this is very helpful! I'm Canadian so I think the process might be similar here too. I will look it up, thank you😊!!
@@LauralieTardifYou’ll need a few documents if you decide to go this route. One major one includes getting a health exam. I recommend you wait till you’re in Taiwan and do it there. I brought my one from the US and they didn’t accept it for it looked fake (which is crazy) and I had to get my visa redone (that’s a whole another story) but yes don’t be like me! Be prepared!
@@nnedi5971 it looked fake? Hahahaha wow I can't imagine🤣 I'd be so annoyed at them hahaha it's an official document after all😅 but yes I will try to be as prepared as possible... Hopefully all goes well😅🤞
Hi there! The 2020 HES has recently been announced. Yeaay! Would mind to share the Negotiation Tricks you used with the embassy in order to get a the 9-months funding? Xie Xie!

Really helpful, Thanks alot
A really great video. BTW the phrases "hu li hu tu " and "ma ma hu hu" are very commonly used in Taiwan. Go ahead and use them>
I know ma ma hu hu but what does hu li hu tu mean?
Nobody in taiwan has ever said ma ma hu hu. in history.

I am not familiar with this process. You will need to talk to the universities and/or TECO office about this matter.

just my opinion, but the 'pop' sound when you put up a point gets kind of annoying, otherwise, i really liked your video.

Hi. How did you apply for the scholarship?
I have a seperate video on my channel that goes into detail about it
Noted, thank you so much! ❤️ love this vid!
China hooks it up when it comes to studying there. Taiwan said figure it out
Both are great options! Just a matter of your prefrences and priorities on which place can give you the best of what you’re looking for.

There’s no trick, just ask. If you don’t ask, you will never get what you want.
Sounds like all Chinese got is money.
Prefer u to say China mainland and Taiwan. thx
