- In this episode we discuss living and fishing in the Florida Panhandle along the Emerald Coast. This is such a beautiful area that we now call home and we discuss the different types of fishing opportunities (inshore and nearshore) that you can expect whether you are visiting for the first time or a current resident. We also show off some isolated beaches that you can visit from your boat including Shell Island and Crooked Island.
We are now on social media:

Also known as “L.A.” as in Lower Alabama, and we love it too!
The 850 is a special and unique place! Awesome video!
Thank you for watching!
Moved here to PCB 2 years ago from St Louis. Best move ever. I’ve only recently had the time to get back into a bit of fishing. Glad I found your channel!
Welcome to the area and thank you for following us!
Blessed = wealthy 😂. J/k Enjoyed the vid as always. Keep it up!
We can hardly wait to get there and begin enjoying all that area offers!!!
Soon we hope!
From Bethesda Maryland moving to Inlet Beach in next year summer!!!!! Been to PCB, ride a boat to shell island, hella fun and chill. Lived in MD for 20 years, hate to being rushed(traffic on I-495,270&95 are horrendous) on and busy just wanted to chill now. Can't wait when I went there last year along 30A(Rosemary and Alys can't afford them lol) to Destin I fell in love and decided to move down to Inlet beach with my love ones. Thank you for your video! Everyone so friendly down there❤
Thanks for watching and good luck with your move down here!
Great videos guys! Your videos are so relaxed and a pleasure to watch. Another couple “ you tubers” I watch called “ Life By the Bow” have a 24’ pathfinder. They seem to love it as well. I keep thinking I need a bigger boat but that one seems to be a pretty good option. My son and I rented a Sea Pro Commander 32’ down in the keys last month and a few days of 4 to 6 foot waves with 20 to 25 mph winds I was wishing I had a 36 footer lol. She sure didn’t get 2.8 mpg like you guys . More like .8. Running twin 300 hp. Keep making great videos. Love the videos of PCB. Grew up coming there every summer for about 15 years. We are looking for a place around Orange Beach on Ono Island. I love fishing in the Keys but it’s just too far to drive from our home town of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Thank you 🙏 for watching and reaching out! The 2400 has been a great versatile boat that allows us to get offshore on good days with plenty of range for our location, and get on the flats and bayous when we want to stay inshore. We love the FL panhandle and want to explore other areas in the region and share that content. Appreciate your support!
My wife watched this video with me and we both love all the swimsuits your wife wears! She wants to know where she gets them? Video is awesome so keep up the good work…
Thank you. I appreciate the compliment I get most of them from Cupshe and a few are from SHEIN and Amazon. I try to not spend a lot on them because they will surely end up with fish blood on them. 😃 We appreciate you watching our channel.
Beautiful!!!
Cricket island is a local hiding spot. You can find gators close to the landing or sharks Gulf side
Thx for great videos and I appreciate the information on the pathfinder
Thanks for watching!
Awesome footage, my dream as well
Headed over for a scouting trip for retirement destination. Live in Louisiana now. Don’t get me wrong we have great fishing here. But not emerald waters. I am refitting my 17’ Boston Whaler Outrage for down there.
Question - where would you target to scout if you were us and you wanted to keep it within a 45 min drive to say Navarre Pier?
Hey thanks for reaching out- that’s a good question. Pensacola is a great area with beautiful water but we don’t know the waters. Great downtown area and it seems to be growing. If you don’t like the crowds, Milton, Crestview or Niceville would keep you within 45 minutes from Navarre and probably more affordable. You should check out PCB area- it’s about 1 1/2 hour to Navarre but growing and several piers here as well - Good luck and thanks for watching!
@@thereel850last trip there to Navarre our fishing store guy (retired Marine) helped us a lot with fishing gear. Later saw him pull in a nice shark off the pier! Traded FB information. Based on your video I pulled the trigger and asked his help and he put me in touch with a retired Marine realtor who I just got off the phone with. We set up a scouting trip! Look at areas not houses. Then after we have target area we will look at houses and make a Buy. I’m excited. I want to live there. I promise not to mess it up for y’all. I’m a bit redneck and a whole lot red voting too. I promise not to try to change things there! I feel like an intruder and I hope we will be accepted! Just subscribed so thanks!!!
Live in the panhandle my entire life but let's face it: Its too cold in the winter. If its in the 20's in TN, its still cold in the 30's in N. Florida. August is so hot, you can sit on your porch and read without sweating and noseeums sticking to your sweat.... then stinging you.
You gotta have a TN or NC escape plan to live in the panhandle... There's a reason not many live here. They go farther south for the winters.
Great fishing in the area. Nice video.
You’re right it’s still too cold for us in the winter but we love the summer heat. In fact, we’re looking to go south in the winter to find more of it! Thanks for reaching out!
great video guys. Me and the wife love PCB area as well and visit many times a year. We are looking at getting a 22ft center console to bring down with us to start fishing the area. How do I find the gps files for the man made reefs?
Thank you! You can view them on the internet @ Navionics Chart Viewer. Most new electronics will have this already loaded onto chart plotters as well.
@@thereel850 thanks, nice to know some the boat comes with a Simard chart plotter.
I also live and fish here in the panhandle for 50 years now. i enjoy watching your videos awesome tightlines. get her a fighting belt my wife loves hers!
Thank you - appreciate your support!
Shhhhh. Keep that quiet 😊
😂👍
From someone who lives at Cape San Blas, check out St. Joseph Bay. 🐊🐊🐊
Thanks for reaching out- we love CSB and PSJ! Beautiful area and not near as many people.
lived in the panhandle for 30 years and never heard it called the 850. must be a beach thing. i try not to go to the beach if i can help it.
☀️🐟🦀
Thanks for sharing this!! Beautiful footage. Can totally understand why you love it.
Whate size boat is that? Thanks
It’s a 24’
As a local, I just wish all of the Northerners would leave.
I hear ya but I don’t think the local businesses would like that!
@@thereel850 most of the newer businesses are owned by outsiders anyways. For decades PC had gotten along just fine before Michael hit and all of the Northerners moved here to take advantage of the aftermath and escape the politics they voted for. The AF and Navy base were more than enough to support the locals. FYI, anyone who is from North of I-10 is a Northerner...
I agree, it was once a great place. Now it’s becoming way to overcrowded and sadly a place I was born and raised is changing to a point I want to leave. Make panama great again! 😂
Sometime ago we were once the 904.
The REEL 904 just doesn’t have the same ring to it….😎
Cheers to many more years of the 850 prefix in PCB.
I KAKE THIS VEDEO ITS VERRY BEAUTEFUL
Great video!
Moved from the Houston area to Inlet Beach area about 3 years ago after experiencing the great beaches and proximity to excellent fishing. There's nothing better than being able to be in the water in less than 10 - 15 minutes. Stumbled on your channel about a week ago and really enjoy the content. Funny enough, I was out under the Hathaway bridge yesterday and may have seen you guys there, I was in a black Majek Xtreme bay boat. I saw a few Tarpon rolling when I first arrived but no luck on hooking up, ended up catching 1 shark after about 2 hours and headed back to the dock b/c I forgot my cooler with my lunch and drinks, just curious if you did any better. In any case, keep the great vids coming and best of luck to y'all!
Thanks for reaching out! Yes that was us and we fished hard until we had to head back in- right as the conditions got right. We were there probably about 2-3 hours too soon. The day before we landed a nice tarpon- new vid dropping soon! Welcome to the panhandle and next time you see us come over and say hi! Thanks again🙏
Nice! Looking forward to the vid and appreciate the gesture.
Wow great job as always. Did ya'll do the editing your self? Fun in the sun.
Yes we did! Need to work on our audio though….
It’s a terrible place most definitely don’t come here….. stay far far away.
was nice but now a s*&t hole.
