Here the last video of the SS1 Rallye Monte-Carlo 1999 "series", we will continue uploading onboards of this Rallye in the future! Thanks for watching! 😄
I can't believe how backwards WRC has gone in terms of onboards cameras. Nowadays we can only see the bonet and the face of the crew (like I care the expression of the driver)
@@Joselo3280 lot of motorsports these days are desperately trying to turn their competitors into characters much like F1 did. It's almost always a sign of something that is very well aware it is failing to deliver on track/stage, so it's trying to make itself seem interesting in some other way
Thanks a lot! I just started to follow WRC in 1998, because of the Colin McRae Rally game on PlayStation. Monte Carlo 1999 was the first rally I tried to follow, waiting in the evening for the report on Eurosport (always after Snooker). I remember it was the first event for the Focus and Cordoba WRC. Seeing these clips makes me nostalgic, and I feel like a kid again.
@alextavoularis8761 Thanks for the Info! You are right. I did'nt know that Cordoba was already in use in 1998. Monte 1999 should have been the first outing for Octavia wrc as well, but they did not start.
Hey guys....thanks for sharing these videos!!🙏👍....they are fab to watch!!!.....please keep these coming!!!!...these were the best days of rallying!!!👌......even the number of fans on the roads was incredible!!... and the camaraderie of those fans was fantastic!!!!...... Many thanks from a WRC fanatic!!👍😎📸🚖
Mmm, great SEAT Cordoba WRC with Prodrive drive chain. 😉 It was not so good for World Championship but perfect for National Championships. There were very few private cars. 😕 Thanks for video! ❤️
I did not check it, but first thing I thought is Panizzi started stage after Delcour, who had problems (came out off the track?). When Delcour came back, he was faster than Panizzi?
@@przemysawpepla1112 I know that Gilles was penalised for a police check on this rally. Maybe it was before the first stage ??, which would explain why he started behind Francois. In the snowy section he overtook Francois, and Francois passed him again in front of the camera. In that case, it's possible that he set a great time, even if he finished behind François.
One thing to consider for future uploads: maintain the original aspect ratio. These are all 4:3 videos, but you're uploading them as 16:9 with black bars. This isn't good, as not all screens are 16:9. Like some computer screens are 16;10, 5:4, or 3:2. On all those screens, your video will show black bars on the sides AND on top and bottom. So if you uploaded the video as 4:3, it would show correctly on all those monitors as it would correctly touch top and bottom (or sides on a 5:4)

Thanks for uploading!
Si porfavor
So many thx!!!!!🎉
Thx!
Thanks!
Fred Gallagher on french pacenotes might be one of the more obscure oddities to ever take place in the WRC
Fred Gallagher reads French pace notes!? What a professional…
Man is the reason Juha wanted English pacenotes 😅.
Ok I'm getting addicted to your daily uploads. Nice work pulling all this together! Amazing footage

It was Focus' first event (both McRae and Jean-Joseph were disqualified due to illegal water pump), but Cordoba's WRC debut was in Finland 1998.

THANKS very much! 25 years and the world of rallying changed so much! + add the waterpump issue at the end!

That's nuts, good onboards of the Cordoba WRC are rare as hens teeth!
👍👏👏pour ces vidéos merci
François started before Gilles, on Ice, Gilles pasted him but after, on wet track, François was faster and drove back Gilles
Oh man, the Cordoba, Harri must have been happy to jump in the 206 after that! And of course Marcus drove it in Sweden as well, that was enough...
That cordoba was a beautiful car
Super ! Continue si tu as d'autres onboards. Panizzi, Delecour !

*So generally what was the issue with this stage ... was it bad tyre choices by all the teams ???*
@@casscroute8706 Yes true, what I mean is didn't they prepare for it.
I don't get it, Panizzi is 2nd and Francois 7th in stage, but François passes him in stage.. Does anyone have an explanation?

François was faster on wet sections but Panizzi was faster on icy sections
