it will never cease to amaze me how much lore is in the scp foundation. it's so much fun to learn about and these videos provide an nice visual for these stories
It’s really interesting when the scp foundation joins forces with groups like the church of the broken god. This also happened when members of the church of maxwellism asked the scp foundation to rescue other members stuck in scp-5470, a virtual world created by the church of maxwellism
Shall I tell you? It’s the least I can do. Steel isn’t strong, boy, flesh is stronger!…What is steel compared to the hand that wields it? Look at the strength in your body, the desire in your heart.
i fucking love the "Enemies put aside their differences and past transgressions in order to team up and fight a common threat" trope. So i love this entry!
Me too! So disappointed when I saw that the Foundation intended to end the collaboration as soon as they were done. I guess they're meant to cold though.
i love how mekhane actually just loves humanity and wants them to advance, but still keep their humanity, but then the church of the broken god is just "we gotta be robots, flash is evil" mekhane would be so dissappointed XD
One thing I’ve wondered about the church of the broken god is if the members are actually being tricked this entire time. If you pay attention to what the video says, there’s two conflicting ideas at play. The first is that the broken god must be reassembled at any cost in order to battle the god of flesh. Yet, the second idea clearly states that the god of machines purposefully broke himself apart to cage/contain the god of flesh. One theory I’ve been thinking about is that it is actually the god of flesh that’s commanding the church rather than the broken god. For, if you listen to the lore, the god of flesh will actually be released is the god of machines is rebuilt. Either way, it’s just a run theory I’ve always wondered.
I think the go’s of flesh is escaping, the church of the broken god are trying to reassemble it’s prices so that when the flesh god escapes, the broken god can be reassembled, or be whole enough to fight it. If they reassemble it, and the flesh god escapes, they’ll at least both be at full strength, verses that flesh god escaping while the broken god is still broken.
I think the idea is that Mechane broke himself and then reassembled himself imperfectly into a "leaky" cage that restricts Yaldabaoth's power, but not entirely. The Flesh that Hates and other Sarkic anomalies are caused by the "leaks". Reassembling the Broken God would trap Yaldabaoth properly inside Mechane as well as allow Mechane to return to full functionality. (Of course this would also probably constitute an end-of-the-world scenario as far as the Foundation is concerned.)
I'd argue let the cult have the beach and island as long as they aren't harming/distressing the regular population as they are helping with getting rid of the flesh that hates which is definitely a worse threat so why not reward them? (Not to mention that they have a lot of fractures and might in fight over it which would mean even less time harassing the foundation for the 'parts' under containment like the heart)
I mean the problem there is they do harm the population; there was an instance where the cult built up SCP 001 The broken god to the point it ATE part of Mexico; it only stopped because the destroyer on Jupiter (I forgot its number) managed to damage it enough for the foundation to step in and stop it.
0:02 This map of these 3 islands will haunt me for all my life. Corfu is on the right of Italy on the left of Greece in the west, Crete is on the south above Egypt/Libya and Lesvos and Lesvos is literally on the borders with Turkey on the east.
Broken God/Sarkicism will never stop being my favorite aspect of the SCP multiverse. The Scarlet King, Site 13, Syncope Symphony, Corbenic, Alagadda, and Church of the Second Hytoth, as well as the myriad multiversal and reality bending threats to existence are all amazing in their own right, but nothing fills me with quite as much inspiration as the battle between Mekhane and Yaldabaoth.
