- SCP 2406 is a Safe Class anomaly also known as The Colossus.
SCP-2406 is a mechanical automaton, 93 meters in height and weighing approximately 210 tonnes.
Most of SCP2406 is composed of an alloy consisting of 75-80 percent copper, 15-20 percent zinc, and smaller percentages of nickel, lead and iron; the admixture responsible for its bronze appearance.
Human skeletal remains, six in number, have been removed from the interior of SCP-2406 with radiocarbon dating placing their deaths at cal 1200-1000 BCE.

The colossus were made to fight an advanced form of SCP 610, The Flesh That Hates, most likely in its evolutionary peak and the followers of mekhane probably reverted it's progress which is what we see today.

There was an old scp that was a kind of coral made from people I'm pretty sure this channel made a video on it so it could be that because they mention coral
@@kindahungry8505 it was also found in a former sea, but if it mekhanne involved 610 does sound plausible, also wasn't the coral made of teeth
I have to agree this sounds very likely
This scp seems to also be connected to scp-001 amoni ram. Mentioning the daeva, the colossi, an empire of mekhane. Love how some of these are so intertwined with others.
Someone listen to this guy, me new to SCP universe but he speak true true.
The interplay between the daeva, the COBG and the Kharnists (and the Demiurge as well) has become a well developed part of preexisting SCP lore, I think one creator got a bee in their bonnet about some parrallels between these fictional cults and historical gnosticism and they've been doing great work since.
Wait till you guys discover Mamjul and karar by Rounder housen the scp wiki
Its great FICTIONAL WORLD BUILDING. Some stories like the original Twilight Zone are all self contained one shot deals and some stories like soap operas are all interwoven. SCP is a middle ground between those 2 extremes. It has many stories that function pretty well in a self contained sense AND it has a well thought out mythology of interconnected ideas and events.
Aren't the deva the devites
I really like the idea of all these ancient empires at least communicating, if not working together, to stop some ancient evil.
Well I mean, Egypt, maya, etc all made pyramids on other sides of the world at about the same time so idk
Oh damn. How would you feel about doing a full series about Amon-Iram? There is a Lord Blackwood story about it that could work as a great entry into the Mekhanite lore.
Its really fascinating
Just a little correction: The Mongols had the largest continuous land empire on Earth. The largest empire, nearly twice the size (somewhat of an exaggeration) was the British Empire, at it's height in 1921.

The Romans were also not remotely the first people to have wine. Off by a few thousand years on that one.
@@DrewTheDreugh we've been able to trace it back to gerogia in 6000bc def not a Roman invention I mean come on the Greeks had wine long before the Romans even had a senate
16:10 There's a line in the Iliad that describes the sea as wine-dark, most likely because ancient Greek didn't have a word for blue, so that was a neat reference. Whoever wrote this SCP knew their stuff about ancient Greece.
should not wine dark be dark red (blood red, scarlet, etc)? edit: as far as i read they saw blue as more of a black or green variation... and that is a little more confusing
@@katelektra9074 I can see how drankards can come to that conclusion, but if you saw it before it was reduced to juice, you would know that most wine is indeed blue. It is like saying people shouldnt be considered pinkish white because if you crush them to blood puddle they are scarlet ??
@@danielpycha3514 First of all it was just a simple question, why are you so mad about it? As far as I understand you talk about the blue color of prime materials for wine (grapes i suppose) and if this is about grapes then im pretty sure they come in green and purple variaties (as far as i see in my region there are no blue grapes), i really don t understand exactly what you try to say is blue since i never saw blue grapes, blue grape juice or blue wine that does not have added natural coloring. Secondly... drunkard... really? Im literally the opposite lmao i don t consume alcohol in my daily life and to be fair maybe thats why i did not understand the blue-bit you talk about, but really what is the harm in asking a question? Also as a side note pinkish white is not really true... there are people with really white complexions, there are people that are more tanned, there are people with light brown, brown or black natural skin color... (pinkish white would be an understatement)
i understand the blood bit and the indside -outside dynamic but really y so brutal?
@@katelektra9074 Blue "black" grape - was mentioned and I didnt want to name the varieties, anyway red wine which is made from it is healthier and more appreciated than white wine (green "white" grape), "purple" grapes are mostly just blue with purple bits where it isnt ripe,, same principle with red, prob because they see the red inside trough the semitranslucent blue peel, I read some people dont realize purple isnt basic color so everything that isnt green is purple and call it a day. About the wine-grape thing, in my native language its called the same and since I dont speak about wine often I didnt realize it isnt same in english, the forelast topic is just something the "woke" neofascists want you to keep saying, skin is white, people in certain regions just developed more pigment in it for protection from sunrays so it gets darker, also same thing as the my first point. Glad you understand inside outside dynamic, thats the only important thing. To the brutality, this is what gaming does to you, you have to be rough otherwise trolls and spoiled kids dont take you seriously...
@@danielpycha3514 now i understand what you mean, also fair point about skin taking a different color depending on the pigment ( i already knew how skin coloring works i was just talking about outside appearance because i thought thats what you meant) , i think there were just a lot of misunderstandings (maybe language barriers too for example in my native language grapes are seen as either red (the black purpleish colored ones with redis interior) or green/white (the pale green ones). So yeah im not a troll nor am i interested in neofascists takes on skin color, im just genuinely curious and you seemed upset for no reason with my curiosity.
Copper + zinc = brass.
1100 BCE was the tail end of the Bronze Age Collapse. The Mycenaean (Crete), and Hittite empires disappeared, and the Egyptian and Assyrian empires took a huge step back between 1200-1100.

It's their entire flesh kingdom.
This SCP relates to an entire canon and many SCP, about the war between Mekhane, main god of The Church of The
Broken God, and Yaldabaoth, main god of the Sarkic cults. Essentially war between machine and flesh.
Not only that, this is probably remnants of the war being told in another SCP 001 proposal, about Amon-Iram, The biggest city and empire where these robots came from. It's an epic tale telling how this anomalous empire fought the other 2 anomalous empire, the Sarkics (flesh user) and the Daevites (magic ritual/sacrifice user)
That 001 proposal also tells about how modern Church of The Broken God formed.
@@haridziran114 Well, I wasn't awaiting a response that complete. I was not even awaiting any response. Thanks for sharing your incredible knowledge of the foundation, and have a good day.
I’m still convinced that SCP 2406 only existed because of the influence of SCP 140. SCP 140 has a lot to do with the Sarkic Cults coming into existence. SCP 140 caused the Church of the Broken God to be forced back into time to now being an ancient civilization because something needed to beat the Sarkic Cults. And thus The Church of the Broken God is no longer a modern religion but an ancient one and thus SCP 2406 was created. It truly shows the power of SCP 140
I was thinking that too.
Damn, I need to get back into SCP lore lol
@wargames All the lore points towards it being one of at least nine others, all built to fight some sort of anomaly while at the bare minimum being maintained by six humans housed inside
To simply put it, the weight is a little more than the German’s WWII super heavy tank, Panzerkampfwagen VIII “Maus”. The maus comes in at about 207 tons, so the colossus is weighs only 27 tons more than the world’s heaviest tank in recorded history. Which of the Landkreuzer P.1000 “Ratte” was made, it would be so much more heavy and would be larger than the mechanical colossus.

This scene and the scene where the researcher with a goatee grabbed the red haired guy by his collar brings "breaking the 4th wall" to a whole new level .

Talos: the massive bronze automaton which was made by Hephaestus the ninth Olympian and who’s symbol is a hammer striking an anvil. AND a monster risen from the sea which has snake like tentacles and is covered in spikes - typhon

The other arm may not coinside with 9, if it does however it could have been in the middle of firing when it was torn off and warped that far away if it bends reality? Or actually just thrown and that is horrifying to think about lol. Either way love this scp and cant wait for more stuff to be made about it! Both by this channel and in the actual scp wiki.
the arm was probably made with the purpose of bending reality to gain an advantage against the their opposing enemies
@@fard2780 yes, however it may belong to one of the other mechs. Just coincidence both of them were missing the same arm because whatever they were fighting had to take out that weapon on each one lol. Each one was probably outfitted with one of those weapons.
@@justinhamm9819 if there were 9 made, maybe all of them had a piece of that strange metal (parts of Mekhane?) So that even if one of them survived, it could still end the war.
My guess would be, that the arm was torn of, during a retreat but the colossus would fight again and then be destroyed further away.
I wonder if the left arm was to remove the sarckis from reality, but it didn't go as planned and not only did it not remove the sarckis entirely but it deleted much of the mekanites as well
It sounds like some sort of removal device, but also sounds a bit like a melee weapon

The Romans did not invent wine. That was ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia. It is true the Romans might have perfected it but they did not invent wine.
Maybe they mean like they invented REAL wine? And not like
Prototype wine
Or something
@@gun6145 but it still wine doesn't matter if it's prototypes or not
Wine wasn't a Roman invention. It goes back to the bronze age. The Romans didn't actually invent very much, they were just really good at incorporating things they came across.
They made things better by perfecting them
@@agathachris9722 No, not really...what on earth gave you that idea?

Thank you for all the great uploads!

But i love you
I was waiting for this one, I really like that one and I think it was one of the first scp that made me discover the universe. Can't believe it is up to 8 years old on some video and it is expanding since 3 year or so.
Seem late but I was wondering what Departments there were in the SCP Foundation since all I hear from other games about AI, ISD, E&T, EC, MD, ScD, SD, and MTF. I still think that I'm missing some but just wondering how many there were and if ''could'' explain how they work.
I do have to point something out... Doesn't the term "automaton" imply that it operates on its own Will?
Maybe they were just needed to maintain the reactor to keep it going? Or to switch from "walk mode" to "fight mode"?
Not according to a google definition
Automation means little to no input is needed from something else, automaton can mean anything from a RC car to a Terminator
Automaton literally just means a machine to fulfill a specific function.
Your roomba, if you have one, is an automaton. Do you think it has free will?

Considering that the Sarkic Cult is far weaker than they used to be in modern times it's safe to say that the Followers of Mekhane actually managed to succeed in their mission with their Colossi. They should be seen as heroes!

i literally kept thinking this through the whole vid and spent 5 minutes scrolling through ocmments just to find this comment
Ah, another SCP inspired by a myth or legend from an ancient culture.
Tbh a ton of them are or inspired by other media. Like Warhammer with the church of the Broken God but in Warhammer it's the The Cult of Mechanicus. Which both function almost identically.
@@Havik888 good to know.
When you look up ancient civilizations and UA-cam, in its infinite wisdom, thinks you want to watch a video about an SCP.
Great vid though! Loved it
Literally hundreds of cultures made wine from grapes before the Romans.
I know whoever wrote the script probably meant well but it hurts to have your fav channel make such a culturally exclusive statement
They have julius ceasar be the creator of the roman empire when it was his nephew
I've gotta get back to watching these vids.
Napoleon was a great tactician and also made a large empire revolutionning war tactics with his batalions concept making it go faster then à Huge single army wich batalion had its infante, cavalery and artillery
Just a little correction: Julius Caesar never took control of the Republic, he died before doing so, his adoptive son, Augustus, did, he obtained the title that every emperor after him inherited: Caesar
So this probably is the cause for the unknown disappearance of the Minoan Civilization around 1000 BCE. Egypt never rose back to power after that and most of the Mediterranean Civilizations were severely weakened or simply disappeared without a trace.
It took me a good while to figure out if I was watching infographics or scp explained lol

Definitely part of the church of the broken God. Judging from the Greek fire they were headed towards a out break of the flesh that hates but enroute they were ambushed or maybe their suits failed and the pilots died causing the automaton to be left behind by the other 8 suits and their pilots for later recovery.
