  • 2020 Ram 1500 Limited stock exhaust comparison vs Magnaflow #11229. MF muffler was welded in place of the stock suitcase muffler. Rear Resonator weep holes were JB Welded shut.
Main concern was interior cabin noise, and this had a very minimal impact in cabin noise. Low speed RPM you can definitely hear it running around town, however cruising at highway speeds it does not have any increase in interior cabin noise. We take 12+ hour road trips in this truck so I did not want increase in cabin noise. Highly recommend doing this mod for a little extra something, but great for towing, road trips, family vehicle type activities.
Added benefit is a bit more throttle responsiveness do to the performance flow through design. I may look into replacing the resonators with a better designed one as I don't love the sound they put out. Would like it to be a bit smoother, however the loudness is perfect for just about anyone.

Could you do an updated video of this muffler broken in? Curious if it has gotten any louder.

broken in sound is much better. It's not louder really, just a bit "smoother"

Thanks for this video! Just wondering how it's holding up after 6 months. I got an 18" on my 5th gen a few weeks ago and I was thinking of going 14" (18" seems a HAIR low), but from what I hear, they seem to get noticeably louder over time... did you experience an increase in volume? I saw one video where the 14" after a year sounded completely different. I'm hoping that my 18 (when broken in) will be like a new 14. Thanks again for this video!

just got the magnaflow 12468 18 inch dual in and out installed on my 07 maxima two days ago. Not gonna lie I wish it was louder but I hope it breaks in. I cut off my mufflers and resonators and have my cats still. I do have drone tho at 2000 rpm its really annoying cruising around town

I've been considering getting the B2 Fab oval muffler option, basically this same muffler. But then thought about just getting the muffler and taking it somewhere to have it welded in place of the factory muffler, I'm sure it would be much less expensive. I'm assuming that's what you did, what did they charge to weld it up?

that's exactly what i did. It was like $100 for the muffler, plus $150 to weld it in... next time i probably would've just ordered the piece from b2 and done it myself.

@@timvitale thanks for the reply! I may order the B2 since I guess that guys in Michigan and I'd like to support a local business. I've heard people have issues with the band clamp on his kit leaking, worse case I use his kit and then have the rear joint welded instead of clamped.

Contemplating the 18” vs 14”. I like the initial sound but wondering how they sound broken in. I don’t want it to end up obnoxiously loud like some other mufflers. Do you have an update video?

broken in sound is much better. It's not louder really, just a bit "smoother". I would do the 14" again in a second. My wife took a nap on a 12 hour trip in the back seat of the truck... it's not loud at all

Does it sound ok in eco mode?

It’s audible. You notice it but it’s not excessively droning or annoying. However I always put my truck into 8th gear using the buttons to deactivate eco every time I get in it. Once warranty is up I’ll get a tuner to deactivate it entirely.
