I think Venice was my favourite city in the Ezio saga. The water added an almost magical aspect to it, and I'm glad to see it looks just as beautiful in reality. Awesome video!
I went to Venice in 2014. I finished AC1 to Rogue & Black Flag in 2013. I remembered tearing up when I finally had the chance to step my feet in Venice. It was like a dream come true. I had fallen in love with the water city ever since I was a kid; so long ago I forgot exactly when. My determination to go there got even bigger when I read Aqua & Aria manga by Kozue Amano (I suggest anyone who loves Venice to read them!) and especially when I played AC 2. Gosh, I swear when I stepped into Venice, exploring Piazza San Marco and the Basilica, I had the strongest dejavu, like I had already been there before. The same happened when I visited Sistine Chapel. Thank you, Assassin’s Creed 2. I only wish Ubisoft still cared about the actual storyline and not just upgrading the graphic like they do now :(
Wow. Just wow, this video is so well done that I should try to share it even with friends that are not that interested in AC. They could still like it.
I was there many years ago and felt throughout that I had been there before. At one point during the visit, I said to my companions: "around this corner there will be a bridge." And VOILA! There it was, just as I had seen it in the game.
+fursecu no problem, you might find the custom google map I created for the trip useful too! www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zp8kjRPXRVXU.kFI6JP83PUKg&usp=sharing
Venice was my favorite par to play and explore in AC2, the beauty of the city and the size of area and all the things that happened in the story there were just amazing. and like I said before I think the game captured that city and vibe best of all... I have to admit I was nostalgic when I was playing the game wishing I could stroll through 15th/16th century Venice and experience that side instead of hectic overcrowded modern day Venice. p.s. the amount of research you do is AMAZING thank you for that learned new things :)
Been to Venice and had on a shirt with hood similar to a white assassin hood. Will say I was actually able to find my way around Venice with my knowledge of AC2.
Another outstanding entry in your pilgrimage series, I too have been to Venice in person and know what you mean by the bleeding effect in St Marks Square, the recreation in the game is dead on for this real life location. I love the musical score they use for Venice in Assassins Creed 2 as it is one of the best I have ever heard in any movie or video game.
I've recently been to Venice and I've simply been amazed. It was Carnival time which I wanted to see since I saw it in AC2 for the first time haha. My wish came true. I'm fascinated by it mostly because of AC hehe. Your vid is great!
It is a dream of mine to see all these beatiful cities and locations. But I have to find a job now and I don't know when I will have enough money to start that rip and poorly by now no one who played the Ezio Trilogy and divides my passion... Anyway, thank you for this vid assassin!!!
By the way, did you knew St Mark's Campanile (San Marco's Bell Tower) was completely destroyed in 1902? The campanile got seriously damagedon many occasions over the years. it was burned down in 1417 and 1489 and even damaged by an Earthquake in 1511. than in 1548 and 1565 it was damaged by lightning ,and again in 1658! and even more ligthnings...The campanile was damaged by lightning again in 1761 and 1762. Finally, in 1776, it was equipped with a lightning rod. in July 1902, the north wall of the tower began to show signs of a dangerous crack that in the following days continued to grow. Finally, on Monday, July 14, around 9:45 am, the campanile collapsed completely... The same evening, the communal council approved over 500,000 Lire for the reconstruction of the campanile. It was decided to rebuild the tower exactly as it was, with some internal reinforcement to prevent future collapse, plus installing an elevator. Royal Privy Councillor and scaffolding specialist Georg Leib of Munich was the first to donate his scaffolding to rebuild St. Mark's Campanile, on July 22nd, 1902. ]Work lasted until March 6, 1912. The work was carried out by the construction firm of G.A.Porcheddu. The new campanile was inaugurated on April 25, 1912, on the occasion of Saint Mark's feast day, exactly 1000 years after the foundations of the original building had allegedly been laid.
Great video, as always. Venice is a beautiful city. Again you did a great job with the music from AC2 that you added! Was very funny when you played the audio of Ezio singing lol.
I want to do this pilgrimage with my bro when he gets older. Hopefully Venice doesn't fully flood before then. Awesome video, I feel like i've already been to the places just from playing the game
You are becoming one of my favorite youtubers with this series. I hope you do another series similar to this one. I recommend you to send the playlist of this series to any gaming giant such as Machinima and let them write an article or even upload a video on their channel about it!
Just got back from Venice yesterday, my partner surprised me for my 30th birthday because she knew I've always wanted to go especially since AC2 (around Carnival too). An amazing experience, I was geeking out all over the place, but also a stunning city I have an almost identical photo of this penis masks in the same shop! Still there
Basilica di San Marco is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world, shame it was being restored when you were there, I saw it without the scaffolding in all it's glory and it is really breath-taking!!
Just wish the game had a warmer atmosphere in Venice. In the game it looks like the foggiest place in England. While Italy IRL gets a lot of sunshine during the year. But thanks for the amazing video. I'll be travelling there as soon as this corona madness is over.
I remember when I went there were so many people as so many birds. One actually flew and took my friends lunch (LOL) that was the first place I went on my trip and I got to tour the doges palace and see the dungeons at the bottom pretty cool. And it didn't smell bad so that was good lol
This is honestly such a great series dude, I'm really happy that you got to experience new culture AND research for AC pilgrimage at the same time. I'm also amazed at how well Ubisoft developed such a similar look to the actual landmarks. It's amazing.
Fun fact: in the early 1900s the st mark’s bell tower collapsed meaning the elevator he took was up a replica of the tower. Sorry but you didn’t ascend the tower Ezio did.
Loomer when is your interview with voice actor of arno is going to be? approximetly ofcourse! :) i remember you said in one of the comments or somewhere else that he didn't mind doing one. And thanks for another tour video, appreciate it!
Had visited the city - before even playing AC - and what I remember of it is how dirty it was and smelly from the stagnant water. Oh and the number of pigeons was astouning, it had been the first time I had seen so many at the same place. XD
YakuKikyo Yeah my gf and I had heard about the smell but when we visited it actually wasn't bad at all. I wonder if it's gotten better over time or maybe if it varies by time of year.
Now tell me...Once,or at least what I remember, having a "trip" with Gondola was a bunch of money, most didn't dare to ask...I was many times at Venice, but yeah I didn't get the chance...xD Anyway what I love the most in Venice is Piazza San Marco, once, now you can't,when I was a child you could feed the pidgeons, there were thousand and even they stood on your shoulders or hands...I miss those days, now you can't anymore...I find the square a pit poor :( I also enjoy the masks,I bought some in Venice ^^ Did you have the chance to visit some "islands" of Venice..Like Murano, etc? At Murano they work the glass and produce things with glass ^^
Hm, I went to Venice for the first time a couple of days ago, and there still were a lot of pigeons. It was very crowded because of the Carnival, but there must've been about 50 pigeons right outside of the Basilica in one spot, and I did hear that feeding them was illegal but it did happen just like you said. Some even stood on the heads. Guess those other tourists used the chance while the square's crowded to attract them, and not alert the authorities, lol. Only thing that sucks is that I only had 5-6 hours to be there and only managed to visit San Marco and San Polo districts. Also a shame that I wasn't there during the night, I bet Venice is magical during the night, just as it is in the game. Such a beautiful city.
Hey Loomer, are you planning to do new trips in other Assassin's Creed locations? Like the previous (there are three cities + Masyaf in AC1) or in the Americas and Europes ones? London and Paris maybe?
I was there last summer and standing in Piazza San Marco made me feel like I was in the game! I felt like I had been there before
I think Venice was my favourite city in the Ezio saga. The water added an almost magical aspect to it, and I'm glad to see it looks just as beautiful in reality. Awesome video!

People who don't like AC don't have a soul lol
3:13 Ezio phases through the fence, just like Barry Allen
I was there many years ago and felt throughout that I had been there before.
At one point during the visit, I said to my companions: "around this corner there will be a bridge."
And VOILA! There it was, just as I had seen it in the game.
just what i was looking for, going tomorrow in venice for three days and needed this :D
+fursecu no problem, you might find the custom google map I created for the trip useful too! www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zp8kjRPXRVXU.kFI6JP83PUKg&usp=sharing
I'm finally in Italy, years after playing AC, totally a dream came true, visiting all the places too, thank you for the map and videos
I was in Venice October 2020. I remember sitting in the Piazza San Marco thinking 'damn I killed so many guards here'
1:51 I may be late, but when I was in Venice the guy who owned the gondola actually singed italian songs, and other guys that past us singed either
Venice was my favorite par to play and explore in AC2, the beauty of the city and the size of area and all the things that happened in the story there were just amazing. and like I said before I think the game captured that city and vibe best of all... It's like deja vu..it never leaves me without tears when i play through that episode of Ezio's family getting betrayed and killed.
i get goosebumps all the time!
Haha, this is my favorite episode. "Wow, so palace", and Ezio's minstrel song during the romantic canal ride. :D
Another outstanding entry in your pilgrimage series, I too have been to Venice in person and know what you mean by the bleeding effect in St Marks Square, the recreation in the game is dead on for this real life location. Yeah, I couldn't wait to make this episode because of the Venice tracks :)
Thank you for this! Such a beautiful pilgrimage. I miss this game so much!
Always a great experience. This has been one of my favorite youtube series of all time. Great work Loomer.
I've recently been to Venice and I've simply been amazed. It was Carnival time which I wanted to see since I saw it in AC2 for the first time haha. My wish came true. I'm fascinated by it mostly because of AC hehe. Your vid is great!
My favorite so far!
Venice is truly beautiful. Also, I never get tired of hearing "Flight in Venice" theme
One of my favorite parkour maps in AC2
It is a dream of mine to see all these beatiful cities and locations. But I have to find a job now and I don't know when I will have enough money to start that rip and poorly by now no one who played the Ezio Trilogy and divides my passion...

Great video! I too was really confused to find out that Palazzo Della Seta does not even exist when I went to Venice for an AC grand tour.
Best game music ever.
Just went on a huge assasins creed binge and replayed the entire ezio collection, Origins is phenomenal too, Ive beaten it 3 times
Great video, as always. Venice is a beautiful city. Again you did a great job with the music from AC2 that you added!
Was very funny when you played the audio of Ezio singing lol.
Man, I love everything you're doing very much! And these AC Pilgrimage videos are so awesome, you make me very happy. Keep it up.
Finished AC2 years ago, and just got back from Venice!
Great vid! Just what I've wanted to see
Omigod! That singing voice sounded like Roger Craig Smith as Ezio was singing!
I think it was him
Currently in venice and actually trying to visit places from the game. Great guide and good for reminders.
I'm using these videos as an itinerary on where to visit in Italy!
BRILLIANT VIDEO!!! YOU PICKED THE BEST TRACK OF THE SERIES!!! BRAVO!!!
GRAZIE MILE FELLOW ASSASINO!! CANT WAIT....
I want to do this pilgrimage with my bro when he gets older. Hopefully Venice doesn't fully flood before then. Awesome video, I feel like i've already been to the places just from playing the game
This city is a real time machine! Some day we will came back to see it again !

Just went to venice last month... i love the city
Currently on a train from Rome to Venice on my honeymoon. This is making me even more excited 😂
wow they did a great job recreating them. thx loomer!
To me of all Italian cities, Venice is the best!! Great to see you visit these places :)
Venice is by far my favorite city in the entire Ezio's Trilogy.
Felt like heaven ❤
Great vid man!
***** Thanks dude! :)
Loomer keep up the good work
You are becoming one of my favorite youtubers with this series. I hope you do another series similar to this one. I recommend you to send the playlist of this series to any gaming giant such as Machinima and let them write an article or even upload a video on their channel about it!
i was there last weekend. I expected a kinda tourist trap, but it is actually a nice place to be.
Beautiful video Loomer!!! And I agree with you and your girlfriend, Venice is my favorite city as well.
Just got back from Venice yesterday, my partner surprised me for my 30th birthday because she knew I've always wanted to go especially since AC2 (around Carnival too). An amazing experience, I was geeking out all over the place, but also a stunning city

2:51 You should search for Palazzo Barbarigo.
Great video!😎🤩😎
Im re playing the game and also decided to visit these places, currently in Firenze, The whole exp is amazing!.
damn bro this video is so good! 🎉
Your videos are so charming. I love them!
AC 2 is my favourite Assassin's Creed game, because of Ezio and Florence (and I live in this city).
You sir, are awesome for making this video!
I remember when I went there were so many people as so many birds. One actually flew and took my friends lunch (LOL) that was the first place I went on my trip and I got to tour the doges palace and see the dungeons at the bottom pretty cool. And it didn't smell bad so that was good lol
1:57 You have to tell the Gondola guy to sing for you and he will
This is honestly such a great series dude, I'm really happy that you got to experience new culture AND research for AC pilgrimage at the same time. I'm also amazed at how well Ubisoft developed such a similar look to the actual landmarks. It's amazing.
Your favourite tomb was the San Marco? The one where you have to complete *four* time trials? Damn man.
Oh my favorite map ❤️❤️❤️ I Love this!!
Been there a week ago, the city is unique and beautiful, but damn, it is expensive as hell and full of tourists traps
Also great video. You edit it so well
Amazing Vid Loomer!! Why don't you make a fun behind the scenes video?
Awesome vid man!!! Keep it up!
amazing !!!!!
Awesome video
3:13 What a glitch😂😂
Great video
Cela rappelle des souvenirs, très chouette vidéo.
Fun fact: in the early 1900s the st mark’s bell tower collapsed meaning the elevator he took was up a replica of the tower. Sorry but you didn’t ascend the tower Ezio did.

3:07 I heard that line to many times
All assassins lived,im big fan and i belive that
Good memories :')
And then there Is me, that i'm italian and i don't feel It like something special, always nice video.
"We saw masks that were inspirations for multiplayer characters, as well as a few that DIDN'T." 😂
If you say, the bleeding effect could be possible by revisiting locations from cinema, then I might as well visit the entirety of Europe.
Venice is wonderful
Had visited the city - before even playing AC - and what I remember of it is how dirty it was and smelly from the stagnant water. Oh and the number of pigeons was astouning, it had been the first time I had seen so many at the same place. XD
YakuKikyo Yeah my gf and I had heard about the smell but when we visited it actually wasn't bad at all. I wonder if it's gotten better over time or maybe if it varies by time of year.
The pigeons mark ledges from where you can perform a Leap of Faith -Animus
DerpyZirrix LOL
Venezia is a beautiful place, not just the island but all of it, sadly the water from the canals really stinks.
I think Ezio even mentioned it in AC2 talking to Rosa lol
Awsome video!
Now tell me...Once,or at least what I remember, having a "trip" with Gondola was a bunch of money, most didn't dare to ask...I was many times at Venice, but yeah I didn't get the chance...xD

I've been looking forward to Constantinople the most!
Hey Loomer, are you planning to do new trips in other Assassin's Creed locations? Like the previous (there are three cities + Masyaf in AC1) or in the Americas and Europes ones? London and Paris maybe?
AC1 locations are places you don't go to unless you've got a convoy of tanks protecting your ass.
1:27 lmao 😂
Do a leap of faith into the Grand Lagoon.
They need to do a remake of assassins creed 2, now that theres a ps4 and xbox one and combine the physics with unity.
How much did visiting all the places cost you? It must of been a fortune!!
so palace much wow
Venice is so beautiful I just wish I had the money to go there :-/
I would die of happiness if I could visit Rome
I feel sad for those who'll play the new AC games without experiencing Ezio.
that shit is probably flooded now
Ahh, Venice.
Hahahaha, nice video, also just wanted to ask you do you think there will be season pass for rouge?
