The primary reason would be because people enjoy the basics staples of their diet but variation is ALWAYS nice! Well... reports of constant civil wars in various African countries. The reputation of women's (lack of) rights in some.
I remember reading a story about singer Ashanti, being rushed by several male audience members as she performed. Those men seemed wild. Maybe Ashanti could have toned down her attire and/or dance for whatever their culture dictated, but the overall sentiment from this American's view, is "d*mn y'all cain't control yourselves for a simple as* concert?"😡😡🤔🤔🤔

@@lql1094 I get it. But it’s like me making judgement on the entire USA because of the violence in Chicago, the attacks on women at the Puerto Rican parade in NYC, or Freaknik, the entire state of Florida’s laws, and the child marriages that are still legal and happening in the Midwest. If you only focus on the negative, you’ll miss out on the beauty many places possess. There are over 50 countries on the continent, you have options.

I got married in Nigeria and spent 2 months in the village for my honeymoon. It was hard and different...BUT I LOVED IT! I would prefer to build a house in the village where my husband's Tribe lives. Life is peaceful and simple. I bathed out the well and cooked on the gas. We slept on a mattress on the floor and washed clothes in a bucket. I loved the people and the culture, but mostly being surrounded by people who looked just like me! @@TOLLBOSS That is not true and you are generalizing I don't know what black people that you know, but every black person that I know from different states in America, Canada and UK all adore Africa and their ancestry. Why are so many African Americans taking DNA test and researching their ancestry? Why are there so many you tube channels dedicated to African American and Blacks from the UK and Caribbean moving to a country in Africa or dream of living there? My last comment I thought you were a white person (American) trolling you tube channels where black people are having good dialog and getting to know one another. I didn't know that we have the luxury of fighting one another or generalizing, half truths, or worst doing the same damage that OUR colonizing done to all black people all over the world including 52 of the 53 countries in Africa.

This is the perfect place to return to in Africa. As an American African I can't return unless I trust the leadership. And Tanzania has one of the strongest and smartest leaders on the continent. Like traveling Sista has mentioned for herself, my mental needs to be ready first before the return. Also I have a warrior spirit and I need to make sure my people here in America are ok before I leave them. Times in America right now are very troubling for us and I can't just turn my back on them now. I'll die for my people before I allow them to suffer in my absence. Much love to all from the continent 🙏🏾💪🏾

I’m sorry sis! Since posting this comment I have actually changed my mind to Uganda. The reason is language and economics based. Tanzania mostly speaks “Swahili”. I do want to learn another language. But I don’t want to prevent me from establishing myself. I’m 40, it’s time to hit the ground running, not learning another language so I can function & integrate myself in the culture. I’ve already done that in America. I had to learn English in the US. Moreover, I’m looking to get into content creation, public speaking, broadcast, podcast, art, etc. So, an English speaking country would do best. Also, Uganda, Kenya, have more information available and even offices that help with repatriation, business licensing, lodging and the like. Initially, I thought Tanzania was the easiest to go to, but the others are easy to get to at well. What made you choose Tanzania?

An excellent interview on many wide ranging but pertinent topics.
To those who desire to return, please go with open minds to adapt. Learn the language, embraced the culture and DO NOT disrespect the natives. Leave all dirty habits and attitudes behind.
On your return, open new businesses, employ natives and help to drive the economies and raise living standards.
Africans on the continent do not become westernised. The sister mention the abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables. The problem nowadays is that too many native Africans are changing their eating habits. The rapid lifestyle shift to eating junk foods increased the burden on one’s health. Eat healthy and stay healthy. Enjoy the flora and fauna. Respect and blessings from the Caribbean.
