LS, LX and an SC - incredible combination of vehicles!
@@patrick3217 Hey, thanks for the compliment and for watching! I hope it was enjoyable and helpful!
I love watching people restore and maintenance Lexus' best generation vehicles!
Do you have a link where I can purchase that airbrush gun? I tried looking for at my local Harbor Freight and they didn’t have it
How did it hold over the last 2 years. My Lexus is 12 years old and the driver seat also lost some paint already....😢
How are the long term results? I am looking to order this for my 2010 ford f150 Harley Davidson due to the red starting to show damage
Hi and thanks for watching! The dye has held up and is only showing minimal wear. It has been extremely durable and cleans with just a mixture of 4oz tap water with 4 drops of dawn dish soap and a microfiber. Would definitely do again! Remember that preparation prior to application is key. Happy re-dying!
Does it not use leather conditioner anymore,?
@@brunocristan7047 Hi! Yes ,I still condition the leather. I use Lithium leather care products with amazing results. I condition twice a year. December and June.
Thumb up musik ja 😵💫 it make me want to a dancing party my man
Thank you for making this video. I appreciate you.
Than you for watching! I’m glad it was of assistance to you.
Grt video and awesome music! Btw I hope you have a video on restoring those headlights, crystal clear!!!
Hi and thanks for the compliment! The initial process for the headlights was the sanding and buffing method that Chemical Guys has a video on. First, wet sand the light with a 1500 grit. Then bump up to 2000 grit. Once that step is complete, polish with a V36 compound as per their instruction. At every wash, I hand buff with a little Mother’s Aluminum and Mag polish and a micro fiber towel. Then I spray some 303 protectant on the lights and wipe thoroughly. This method keeps the lights from cooking in the intense AZ sun. I hope this helps.
Those generations were Lexus’s best work !! Good job
I COMPLETELY agree! Pricey to repair, but you don’t have to do that too often. Its definitely cheaper and less frequent than a car payment. Thanks for the compliment!
This product works fantastic!!!
Looks and feels like new
Great results!!!!
I’m glad that you had a positive experience too!
Do you have a link for Sem ? how do you know what color/product? the label is covered
Hi! I do not have a link for SEM. I took my headrest in to my local dealer and had them color mix a color match as closely as they could. The code is 1500 Phantom White. The actual can is just basic white. The label gives the actual custom match color.
I have a black 11 GS. I am using a pad with seat doctors dye on the armrest. I keep getting streaks, like the dye don't want to absorb. The seats dyed ok. I think I am getting that airbrush.
I had the same issue with my armrest. I used the Seat Doctors filler for the armrest edge cracks, sanded with 800 grit, cleaned with a quick surface wipe with 70% alcohol on a microfiber, and applied 4 even coats of dye and 2 coats of clear coat by airbrush. Allow to dry for 20 minutes in between coats. Patience and preparation are key. It’s SO satisfying when complete. Good luck!
@@battlereadydesigns153 Thanks, hope I can use my dye basecoat and not have to remove it! I also talked to Andy, will send him some pics. I also have a Tan Grand marquis, I am going to definitely need the airbrush to do a seat. I dyed the whole back cushion, it looks almost new, it was really stained bad. I used a pad but it took forever.
I would be taking the mechanic to court if they did that to my car. Thats $2000 in damage to do it right.
I felt bad for the poor old guy. He made a mistake. My mom always said that’s why they put erasers on pencils.
@@battlereadydesigns153 You have a good heart
How have the seats held up over time? That finish looks great
Hi and thanks for watching! The seats have required 2-3 small spot touch ups where I probably didn’t clean right the first time prior to application. The touch ups were applied by airbrush and blended flawlessly. The high traffic areas of the seats have held up remarkably well. I’ll try to get a 1 year video out showing how they held up.
Short answer: Fairly simple project and great results!
Should you spray a clear coat after the dye to protect the dye?
Hi! Yes Seat Doctors offers a clear coat in a satin finish that is amazing! Just email him your vin. He’ll get you set up.
What Harbor Freight Sprayer are you using?
Hi! Thanks for watching! It’s the 3/4oz Quick Change Airbrush Kit 7pc.
Can't go wrong with a lexus. I have an '02 ls430, black on ecru. What a beauty. Better than any bmw and Mercedes
Agreed!
Think I could use a cheap regulaar spray gun if Iwas doing large areas like seats
You could most definitely use a regular spray gun. I used the air brush for even coverage and to avoid runs. I’m not a good painter, so I needed all the help I could get.
What no top coat ?
Nice work sir
Thanks for the compliment 🙏🏼
@@battlereadydesigns153 how is it holding up and how is the color match
@@Spectrum_Auto_Spa Got your message and uploaded a follow up video to answer your question. It’s holding up great! Color match is perfect. No cracking whatsoever. There are creases where the leather stretches, but that’s to be expected. I’ve cleaned and conditioned the leather regularly with Lithium products and haven’t noticed any degradation of the dye. Have a wonderful holiday!
