If no one else mentions it, this was from their Christmas special from 2020. It was a big 'production' that they crowd funded for. From what I have seen, there was a 'story' to the show that Chance wrote, and various songs. It was streamed for 'ticket holders', but the songs from it were released as videos. Snow Globe, Warmest Winter, Christmas in Dixie, Beautiful Star of Bethlehem, this one - any more??? The fans filled the GoFundMe so fast that they added stretch goals - getting Jeffrey East, then The Oak Ridge Boys, and finally Alabama. They were blown away by the fan support.
Thank you!!! "Rob Ruffles!" Love love love that! Rob is such a master of blending no matter where in his range he is singing, isn't he? I always love it when Austin has the lead and Rob does high harmony over top of him. Blending is tough especially when there's not a familial connection between singers (that's a different tangent), but I feel that Rob and Chance are both naturally masters at it mainly because of the tambour of their voices. Austin and Tim's voices cut through more, so I suspect that they have had to work on that skill more than Rob and Chance, but that's just me rambling and being long-winded lol. This song, in my opinion, is a masterclass in a cappella/ensemble singing. Thanks again, guys. Happy New Year to you both. And wishing you all the best in 2024. PS Go Ravens!!! Can't agree. Austin and Rob have been singing together for 10 years and know how to blend perfectly. I suggest you listen to Moonshine, where Austin and Rob sing a perfect high duet. Tim's bass is intrusive, I must agree, and sometime seems to stick out just so we know it's there.
I popped open my laptop in the hopes of finding reactions to certain Austin Brown songs. Of course I put that aside for a moment when I was some new ones from you two. HF's rendition of this song is so beautiful, goes straight to the heart. And I always enjoy your reactions, informative and fun. And of course there's Hers Ain't Mine (multiple vids on tiktok) and Take the Night Off; these two feature Amberly and I can watch them over and over again.
Yes start back from the beginning but there are so many other songs to delve into also. I love “Finally Free”, “From Here to the Moon and Back”, “Forever and Ever, Amen”, and “The Driver.” Just a few of the older ones that are missed.

This song somehow makes me feel lonely, which is possible in the winter. I will always stop what I’m doing to hear Chance take the lead. His voice has that quality to make it feel personal. Then Austin with his brighter voice picking up that hope for love. The harmonies are so sweet that I could pick out each voice! Good song choice to start Home Free FrYDay.

Thanks Angela…I was trying to remember the name of the technology that Home Free used in their Christmas special in 2020! I think it stands for extended reality…there were a bunch of cameras and sort of a matrix of lights that gave a multi-dimensional effect (that’s my very non-technical description 😂) The technology was quite expensive so they wanted to make as much use of it as possible. This song/scene appeared in the special (as did Snow Globe and Warmest Winter) but if I remember correctly they used the same setup and recorded videos for these songs separately from the livestream recording. However the Beautiful Star of Bethlehem and Christmas in Dixie videos on UA-cam were taken directly from the livestream. (Dani isn’t the only one who’s long winded). Go Ravens!

I always get the "Chance Chills" whenever he sings. His voice just hypnotizes me. I do believe they are asking the universal question in this song, because i get so discouraged with this old world. This was from a live online Christmas show that they did when they could not tour. It was released 2 years ago. They had some sets, and it was sort of like those old family shows that had a story, some comedy, and then song performances also in it

Great reaction, as always. Love the song. Recently saw video of HF doing this live and really appreciated it more because I've never been particularly keen on the visuals of this video. The guys look so stiff, their positions feel awkward. Not meaning to be a downer, but there's a 'cadence' to this which feels bit like a funeral dirge. The build, working toward the end, makes the pacing more obvious. It's what stands out, for me, and what makes thus so unique. Big fan of any time we get Chance up front, being velvety. Tim frequently 'directs' himself with his hand movement; Chance occasionally does it, more when live. Silky Rob countering with his higher tones. And Austin using that 'cry' quality, in his voice, to pull off the mournfulness. Good stuff!

You mention Adam looking intense. I guess multiple directors have tried to get him to not look so intense, but he just can't do it. He gets kind of hyperfocused and that's it, he's gone. You see it in some of the behind the scenes videos, too -- he's working on something, someone asks him a question, and he's completely oblivious. My son, who's ADHD, does the same thing.

Going back to initial original thinkin' (in general) about Acapella -- reminding myself ... AND Others : ) ... So hard!!! We hear or listen -- to the tune, and then the song/lyrics begin ... learning lyrics according to the tune (or in time of). But, when you are the tune -- ya gotta do your part and ya gotta learn/know each part... staying in time/rhythm and staying focued.
