During the 2021 Passione Engadina event in Switzerland, I filmed the new Kimera EVO37 by Kimera Automobili, a road-legal restomod that marries the Lancia 037's retro styling with modern tech. Like the original car, the Kimera EVO37 is powered by a 2.1-liter four cylinder engine which sounds just like the good old Lancia Rally 037!

I thought the same thing when I saw it, it looks like a cross between a Ferrari Testa Rossa and a Lancia Thema
Almost perfect. The only thing it still needs is self-cancelling indicators.

Forget Ferrari, Lambo, etc, there is true artistry in this design. My dream garage would have this and an MAT new Stratos parked right next to it. Perfection.

@@apashe974 the delta from Amos looks like crap because the B pillars are from the original 5 door version but they turned the car into a 3 door without touching the B pillars
When I was a kid, and I'd get a new toy car, if I felt it was special enough, I'd carry it everywhere. I'd even fall asleep holding it. Somehow, seeing this, just reminded me of that...
I can smell the clutch just watching him drive it around
it probably just has a really short gear ratio thats why the rpms so high i mean it is an old ass turbo makes sense for him to keep it spooled 90% of the time

the engine of this EVO37 has been built under the supervision of Claudio Lombardi, the engineer that made both the original engines of Lancia 037 and Lancia Delta S4, and you can know it only listening to the sound, that is almost the same.

How heart-achingly beautiful this car is. The original 037 from Lancia, the gods of automotive design, to Kimera who through pure great engineering brought this one down to earth for us mere mortals to admire. Keep all your other hypercars, this one outshines them all.
Meanwhile, Lamborghini puts out an abomination and calls it the new Countach.

Eternal hatred for electric vehicles...This is one of my all time favorite cars. When I was very little, my father gave me a 1/24 scale model of a Lancia 037 in Martini Racing colours. I have never forgotten it. Thank you Kimera for that brutal and faithful recreation.

Very googd looking and very well engineered, the restomod trend seems to improve at every new release, but the Samedan airport seems to be not the best suited place to show the first footage.

Now we just have to find out who made the engine, because it doesn't remind me of any modern engine I know of!! But one thing is for sure: it sounds just like the mighty Twincharged 1.75!! 💗🤘
Actually the exact same 2.1 4pot from the original 037! Kimera partnered with Italtecnica to add turbocharging, so I believe it actually IS twincharged!
@@anthony.van11 And, no other than the man himself, Claudio Lombardi, was involved with this project. He designed the original engine too.
@@anthony.van11 Not to pick cherries but , the 2.1 was the old Evo3 in the rally car. It had an iron block. The new 2.2 has bigger bore and longer stroke , twincharging and maybe an aluminium block.
Fun fact : the 037 had a 1 liter supercharger (volumex R10). The Delta S4 had a 1,8 liter supercharger (Volumex R18) AND a turbocharger (KKK-24) AND an high redline (9100 rpm) all on the road car!.
I may add : the new Kimera has a 7.5:1 compression ratio. Had it been fitted with not only port injection but also direct injection that is available today , it could have an higher compression ratio of 0.5 to 2.0 points on the same boost and fuel.
