For instance, Rusty Wallace is a Rival (with the marker over his car during the race). He's not mad enough to hit you, but he'll block you hard. If you rub him once, his Rival status would enter the range where he will retaliate. Jeff Gordon has light rival status, as did Kurt Busch. And if I can recall, Dale Jarrett had light rival status as well.
I met Tony in 2004 when I was 6, I was a bit young but he seemed nice even back then. I know his temper wasn't that great back then, but I think when he bought Eldora, started to do more charity work, and then starting his own team, he really mellowed out. He's still opinionated, but not nearly as brash as he was in 2004.
The 2004 Xfinity race at Kansas takes me back to a time, when NBC/TNT were prodding Bill Weber to be their booth guy, virtually demoting Allen Bestwick later on. Allen Bestwick NBC was top shelf. I can honestly also say here in the present day, that I even like Rick Allen NBC, a lot better than I liked Bill Weber NBC. It might be because my mind, as a 31 year old NASCAR fan, understands and comprehends the sport much better today, than when I was a fan, at 12 years old between 2004 to 2006.
