I spend more in coffee and breakfast every morning for what they charge for DLC's. Thanks KEEN! For another thousand hours on top of a few thousand already. I like the new conveyor sewer pipe looking tubes, flanged and non flanged variants.
I like this video over others that have reviewed what is in the pack, as it presents the parts better, even answered some questions like connector points on the assembler location, that everyone else seems to have left out.
It is unfortunate that the assembler and refinery catwalk sections do not play well with each other. Or that there are not ports to access the cargo from the catwalk.
I have to admit that although I'm not a huge fan of the idea of DLCs in SE. I still buy them because they are dirt cheap and I spend 90% of my gaming time in SE. haha and this one is one of my favorites. The passed four DLCs has given SE a more updated look which is a must for game like this. I just hope SE updates the planets next.
@@GMLSX its actually better in most cases due to the new placement of the upgrade modules. If u are not going to upgrade the assembler, use vanilla. If u are, use the industrial
@@GMLSX so, uh, can u see if my comments about my frigate are still there? I made 1 and it disappeared. I made a second one and it did the same. Can I just not see them or did they get deleted?
I really like this DLC but it's a shame to see that if you plug the industrial assembler on the side port of the refinery, there is a little guardrail that would prevent you from going on the top side of the assembler. I think a little modification of the refinery model could be nice.
I have a feeling thats going to be changed soon, a lot of the UA-camrs/Streamers are complaining about that along with their not being inventory access on the upper parts of both the refinery and assembler and their not being a T junction for the pipes.
Yeah but their artists are working much faster than their programmers, which is why they are doing cosmetic stuff. The programmers are currently very busy with the warfare 2 update! Also this game is a 1 time purchase and has had continued support for years, eventually the devs will run out of money unless they have some way to make it sustainable. They decided to do it with this DLC, which is enticing enough to be worth getting while being a paid item that directly supports the devs. While I dislike the lack of content as well and I dislike most dlc in general, it is a good way to deal with the realities of the devil's financial situation while making full use of the dev team AND giving players content to hold them over.
functional updates will be free and also it takes more time to develop new game features. Keen made the decision to make all paid dlc comestic blocks only. Which I think is a good decision because you have a good amount of players who bought this game in 2013 and who had no idea keen was going add DLCs. So they bought the game in Early access under the assumption that they were buying the full game. I would say have patience with Keen . They will get to whatever features you're waiting on and in the meantime I bet there is a mod that has the features you're looking for
Instead of the assembler being twice as tall, they could of just added a separate control station, the top half, that could be used for anything. Maybe with an option to set it up so when you use it's "Control Pad" it will default to the block you want controlled. Actually, that would be a good option for any control block, when you open it, you open a connected module, instead of the button itself.
Its not a single button version. Its three buttons. Also the hydrogen thrusters are not equal. They have the same performance but one is a bigger target.
There's a lot of differences like that in this DLC suggesting what Keen thinks "functional" means. As an example, the Industrial Refinery is functionally much smaller because significant portions of its hitbox are replaced with walking space so much more functional for space efficiency say if you want to make a smaller ship with a Refinery you don't need walking space around it. Can you get as many modules on the Industrial Assembler as the original? The Industrial H tank looks bigger than original, can it hold more? Is it more durable to compensate for the larger targetable size?
Honestly yeah a lot of the stuff looks nice, but I feel sorta disappointed because they keep giving out DLC that add a small amount of blocks and little to nothing else. I wish they would do a little more than that. Also I'm pretty sure a good portion of these blocks already had free variants through mods. I know with how many modders there is it's hard to make things that haven't already appeared in mods, but I feel they could still do more than a handful of blocks.
Love the DLC, but I do wish there was some content from the Dev's to give it some linear progression or end-game for single player sort of like how Valheim has shown to have.

Those thrusters looks awesome. Makes me want to make an attempt at building a large atmospheric and hydrogen ship :)
i love that all the dlcs are very affordable, sure you might not always get that much in them but they are always more than worth it.

I'm also surprised there isn't a mirrored version of the assembler so you could have one on each side, or on opposite sides of a walkway.

The big read button actually has three buttons. the 2 yellow squares are also buttons.
Correction, the button pannel doesn't have one button, it has 3. The yellow buttons that you thought were control pannels are the other buttons.
People keep begging for a real update or even a dlc with functional gameplay changes; not reskins and incredibly minor changes.
