Malcolm Harris master chief isn’t a first gen spartan he’s 2nd gen. First gen was a group of adult marines and it went horribly leaving most of them crippled in some way. 2nd gen was when Halsey abducted master chief and what not.
In the other cutscenes Palmer is just as tall as chief
It always bothered me he is so tall yet he is hard to hit in combat.
Also that armor looks heavy as f#$k...would they be super noisy in indoor combat...like wouldn't his foot step be heard or when he leans on something.
@@JP-wm1cc the armour is mechanized assisted so it is easy to move but yes it wieghs 1000 pounds.

Well most of the odor you get from someone is gasses emitted by bacteria breeding in the residue of dead skin tissue and sweat etc.. So in theory if the suit stopped this from happening the chief could smell like roses ;)

Well they are ODSTs pretty much just modified slightly to be better at combat after the slaughter of the IIIs and at reach with death of some IIs I think pretty much they didn’t have much stuff left to actually make super kick ass Spartans like chief and noble 6 anymore

The UNSC pretty much had a eugenics program and stole the most genetically capable children to become Spartans, all during a time of peace before First Contact with the Covenant. The book Halo: The Fall of Reach details John's journey from boot camp and you learn a lot about Dr. Halsey too, and her guilt about the Spartan Program and its necessity.
Spartan IIIs were a thing because even in war....money. Spartan IIs were slower to produce and far more expensive so, bean counters ya know. Military: “Survival of the human race. Fate of the Universe. Blah blah”. Bean Counter: “Yeah, but that’s EXPENSIVE”!

They stopped making spartan IIs because of how expensive and damaging it was. IIs are by far the most superior. Spartan IV are just humans in spartan armor that are slightly enhanced.

He’s actually standing at 7 feet in his suit and 6’10 out of his suit and he’s like a super human, he’s like captain America but better out of his suit. He’s a thousand pounds in his suit and out of it he’s 300 pounds so he carries around 700 pounds. That’s how strong he is.

I love how everyone in the entire part of the ship turns and stares at him while he gets his armor off, and how much taller he is than every other spartan. The Master Chief is the closest thing we have to a perfect soldier. I would watch video's like these all fucking day just showing what he does when he's not fucking shit up. Tbh I mocked 343 and this ending when it came out. But watching it again.. they did pretty damn well with this game. Even tho h3’s ending was perfection, I thoroughly enjoyed this game.

I know this video was posted back in 2012, but I've grown to appreciate the ending of Halo 4. It's a really good ending!
Remember MasterChief isn't just a normal Spartan, His Entire Life is an outcome of The Librarian wanting to Protect humanity like for millions of years. He is Genetically Superior than any Spartans, even the future generations, its something similar like Desmond From AC Series.

Imagine thinking you're a badass because you recently got promoted to spartan. You're trying to impress the commander with your running speed. Then, suddenly the room goes quiet and you look over to see why. You stumble when you see THE spartan simply walking in and getting more respect than you could ever dream to earn.
Yeah but I still would prefere a lot more to be just a normal spartan. Chief is far the best spartan, but he pays a price for that: he has no life, no children, no wife, no family... man, that really sucks

My issue with this is 343 purposely made the size comparison between the Spartan IV's and II's with this scene of Chief walking past Palmer. Then they make Halo 5 Guardians and in the fight between Sgt. Locke and Master Chief they are practically the same size (height and stature)! Like what the hell 343?! You clearly know better! And even giving the benefit of the doubt that Locke is just a really tall human before the augmentation process it still is ridiculous to think he would be in the 7' range like the Chief.
Edit: The most laughable thing is that according to Waypoint Sarah Palmer is supposed to be 6'9" that would make Chief about 9' tall in this shot 😅

Out of all the Halo games, Halo 4 has one of my favorite ending cinematics.
Probably on par with Halo 3's.
Halo 3's cinematic felt like the perfect end to a legendary story about Humanity's darkest hour.
But Halo 4's feels like the the epic beginning of a new story about Humanity's Ascension.

The didact fears humanity and he has every reason to.

Imagine your a Spartan 4 and you think you are enhanced and are the perfect war machine. Then…. In walks a Titan, Spartan 2, killer of Billions, savior of humanity, saved billions and hundreds of planets, you have heard the stories but they were only myth, only rumor of a human killing machine that is invincible and immortal. Then in he walks, 8 feet of battle scared metal, beyond belief how big and intimidating he really is, power beyond belief in just the way he walks. He’s here to train and be augmented even further. He’s John 117, Master Chief, savior of everyone you know, hundreds of medals of honor, dominator of worlds, The Reclaimer, and he’s right in front of you.
They not as strong, but efficiency is key.

It's more of an existential question: When it's all said and done and the war is over, will Chief return home with some of his innocence still intact, or will he be a emotionless killer like the Didact? The Didact's trauma broke him, and Chief can relate to that.

The New Spartans are just normal humans in armor. The First true spartans like 117 and others were taken as children and shaped to be bigger, faster, stronger, and better than any human beings alive. Even the spartans that the process left bound to wheel chairs are smarter and more knowledgeable than the majority of the human race.

As much as I disliked this game, the ending was pretty good and the Halo 4 version of Never Forget was great.
Don't know who's idea it was to show Chief's eyes though, personally I think the screen sliding to black as his helmet came off was better for an ending.

Cheezy Locke doesn‘t have the experience of the Master Chief. He knows his Armour in perfection and the Master Chiefs Armour is directly connected to his Brain. Locke is an IV Spartan. They got their Armour as Adults, Master Chief got his as an Teenager. His whole life has been war, fights and Training. The Spartan IV even didn‘t got that many Neural and Body Modifikations as the Spartan II.

Spartan ll's werent random kids, they were the ones who were outstanding compared to other kids; their genetic makeup was better than others. Meaning that other than their augmentations they were naturally physically superior. Spartan IV's werent physically any different from other humans, the only difference was that they got augmented. Spartan lls had augmentations *ontop* of their better genes.
TL;DR: Spartan ll's were just born better; better genes n stuff( thats why halsey handpicked them)
