Engelbert Humperdinck: HÄNSEL UND GRETEL (Trailer 2021)

Alongside Mozart's DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE, Engelbert Humperdinck's HÄNSEL UND GRETELS is probably the most popular introductory work for children and adults interested in opera.
The work tells the most famous fairytale by the Brothers Grimm in a dramatically dense and symphonically sophisticated way, interspersed with familiar folk songs.
Director Andreas Homoki presents the opera in a straightforward and child-friendly manner, with a poetic pictorial language, "intelligence and humour" (Deutschlandradio).
