    Pretty damn sweet brother, and your jam is killing it. I can only imagine that the marketing department at PRS is getting the copyright and patents established for this new hybrid. I know there are a lot of fretless guitars out there, But what this guy has put together for you is definitely a beauty that's for sure. Again, that was definitely a killer jam you put together, sweet.

    Paul loves what he does. He isn’t afraid to try things. This is the best time to get a PRS, where the man whose name is on the guitar is still calling the shots and is heavily involved. The guitars are a reflection of him. The upmost quality.

    The italians at EKO Guitars did exactly this on the early 70s.... nothing new under the sun...even some even half frets ...that way you can get the lower notes in perfect pitch while the fingers compensate on the fly on the first to 4th string...congrats on that lovely sound....nice guitar chops , cheers from Buenos Aires...! happy 2021..!

      Just go to your friendly neighborhood guitar-tech, it's a really easy mod and shouldn't cost much, but to be completely honest I tried it about 13 years ago and ended up deciding to remove all the frets from that guitar, the high registers of the guitar didn't sound good (probably because I didn't own no reverb or delay pedals at the time), they just really don't sustain that well, unless of course you use an e-bow.

      @@saywhat4314 It's limited, but versatile. That's the story with anything really. Fully fretted guitars can't do what fretless can, fretless can't do what fretted can. So as much as it's limited, it's also enabled to do more than one or the other. So it has its own unique qualities.

    *Hi, Music Is Win. I'm SO GLAD YOU UPLOADED THIS VIDEO! This has really made my day! I'm thinking about making my Telecaster half-fretted. What I'll do, though is keep the first 12 frets and fill in the rest with wood filler. My Tele also has only 1 pickup in it! The neck pickup and it's a humbucker. It already sounds bloody epic, but after this job, it's probably gonna sound blinkin' INSANE! I can't wait, so thank you very much!       because this is not the proper way of doing it, they just used an off the shelf neck and ground the frets low "enough" (not enough for what people would expect in that price range, though).

      @@dushk0 Yes, that would explain why they have no interest in modding existing guitars. The proper way would be not to have frets beyond the ones you want to use. But this is the way to do it if you just want to see what it's like to play such an instrument without going fully custom.

    Easy enough to do - done it to an old BC Rich, fretted up to 7th and everything upwards taken out. I also took out the dot inlays, filled the fretslots and dots + coated the smooth fretboard up with dark epoxy up to the highest fret.
    It's a nightmare to get the radius back, and it took me a good while, but it works.
    Playing chords is still available, and everything up is all pie in the sky....

      I always loved the guitars, but meeting Paul and everyone at the factory made me fall in love. Its more than a great instrument, its a group of people who just love music and building. Truly a special thing to be a part of. I encourage anyone if they can to visit a PRS Experience event at the factory when things get back to normal, there youll realize why its more than a brand and hes more than a brand owner.

      It’s the smooth transitions of the notes of me. I know it’s an electric guitar, but it sounds so fresh and different. I could see this becoming a more common concept.

    Suggestions of things you should try next with this guitar: [1] Sliding 6th intervals without lifting your fingers [2] Left hand to outline some triads with tapping (think of Satriani's Midnigth) while right hand do some slide melody [3] Can a pinch harmonic be slide thru the fretless section of the fretboard? [4] Use an e-bow
