I love my Trow and Holden carbide hammers and chisels! The best stone masonry tools ever. I square and face granite for dry stone walling in my garden they make the job alot easier.🤠
Looking forward to learning this skill. Just got a set on order from Trow and Holden. My hand set does not have the carbide tips so i spend alot of time on the grinding wheel. But making progress. Thanks for the video.
Make sure ends are completely square, take chipper and chip each end of my marker, use metal straight edge or your square, clamp down on each end and chip away.
Your sawhorses are dissipating a lot of the valuable energy required to make a clean break. Build a pitching banker with 6 x 6 timbers, and use a rubber horse stall mat for the surface.
Exactly, you can use clamps or they even have suction cups to hold the straightedge against the stone and when you place your chisel against the steel straight edge, it helps keep the line straight. Really helps cut down your time as well.

Good tools are always so nice to use.
Would recommend reaching out to T&H for pointers on how to best use their tools for monument work.
Good luck !
Thanks They have been great. They also have a UA-cam Channel.

The UPS driver literally becomes Santa whenever there's a package from Trow & Holden on the sleigh.
Yes he does.
You can use your square as a straight edge to keep the edge straight. You may what a hand set to go with your other tools
What's a hand set?
@-gravestonepros a hand set is tool like your chipper but it has two edges used for removing bigger amounts of stone
@@fredkopfinger8885 Ok that one came late we always called that a bullnose.

Mike that's a great way to do it.
