  • This is a review of the FOBO Bike 2 Bluetooth 5.0 Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). I installed this system on my 2018 Harley Davidson Heritage 114 in order to keep track of tire pressures without having to pull out the Tire Pressure gauge all of the time.

    I installed on my goldwing today, had an issue with setting the psi on phone but everything else was a breeze, ladies go get this, even I was able to install 😊

    Very good product, every unbox video I have watched on UA-cam , the F on the sensors of both units is always the right way up,so this company is passionate about their product.

    I check my pressure before each ride. I had the original FOBO, but never got more than a month out of a pair of batteries... seemed like something was not turning off. Got the FOBO 2 today and I hope the new unit is more battery efficient and communications reliable. I think this is the most important safety accessory one can have.. your tires are with most critical components when it comes to keeping upright! Great review. Ride safe!

      Steven E oh I’m shocked to hear that. I got a year out of the first ones no problem and now I’m on the fobo 2 and it’s even better. They are smaller and look better.

    I've said before I'm not a tech guy. But this is cool gadget. I always neglect to check tire pressure. Good video.

      Yeah I am a big tech guy but this is definitely one for the masses when it comes to safety / mitigating laziness.

    Okay Dan I ordered one. I’m horrible at checking my tire pressure but hopefully this will solve that problem. Thanks and great content 👍

      No problem, I think you will like it. That’s the same reason I went this route, I was really bad at consistency with checking tire pressure.

    I suck at checking my tires and always forget what its supposed to be. Awesome gadget man

      Yeah it’s way more work than it sounds to pull out the pressure gauge and check pressure all the time. It’s easy to get complacent and just stop checking.

    A question on the alerts. I do not have my phone on the handlebars, ai keep it in my pocket. My phone is bluetooth connected to the bike, and I do not think the phone would connect to two different devices at the same time. Or am I correct in this?
    If it does, would it send an audio alert thru the headset?

    Let's say you use google maps on your phone currently and Fobo app runs in background, what will happen if tire pressure dropped - will it show some alarm screen on top of Google maps?

  • @bobpx

    but is it accurate?? "the air pressure is corrected for temperatures" of course the pressure changes with temperature but why correct it? what is the reference point then?? I want 40psi. my Milton gauge says 40. FOBO says 37.3 at 80F so no good

  • @davechasse9006
    @davechasse9006 4 роки тому +1

    I wonder how reliable the temperature reading is, When you do Trackday without tire warmers you waste 1-2 laps to heat up your tires, you never realy know when they are completley heated up.

    • @GearsGadgets
      @GearsGadgets  4 роки тому

      Hmmmm. I'm not sure if this is a track day racing instrument. Im thinking its more just for daily driving. I couldnt imagine on race day you have your iPhone up on the bars looking at tire pressure readings.

    Will these work when you walk into the garage and you can see the tire pressure or do you need to ride the bike first ? thanks

      izzy412izzy412 they work as long as you are in Bluetooth range of the bike. I can check the pressure while in bed which is about 60 feet away from the garage.

    I have a new 2018 Honda Gold Wing that has a TPMS system on it already but don’t know the pressures until you wake them up a few miles form the house. Should I just add these units leaving the existing units in place or should I do something else?

    • @hammarashi
      @hammarashi 4 роки тому

      you could run this in conjunction. No harm in both. But if you already have it, why spend the money on another. When it comes time to replace the valve stems in the internal tpms (5 years later), you could go with a standard valve stem as opposed to the more expensive internal version.

    • @GearsGadgets
      @GearsGadgets  4 роки тому +2

      Yeah you could certainly run both. It is nice to get live readings of the pressure from my recliner the night before a ride. (AMERICA!!)

    I have them , the accuracy is off by 1.5 to 2 lbs per tire and they leak down so every 2 weeks or so I still have to check and fill I don’t recommend these at all

    • @GearsGadgets
      @GearsGadgets  4 роки тому

      Well first the air pressure is corrected for temperatures so it won’t read equal to a basic gauge on purpose called “reference pressure”. If they are leaking down you might have to reach out and get some replacements, mine don’t leak down and have had 2 years of riding on them.
