Hi Sandhya Lakhani, I'm not familiar with surgeons in Mumbai, but I suggest you ask for transconjunctival blepharoplasty by name, which involves no external incision in the lower eyelid for visible scarring and potential damage to lower eyelid support structures; and insist on no lower eyelid skin removal to treat wrinkles, as this can cause skin shortage that will pull down the lower eyelids. Under eye wrinkles can be treated non-surgically to improve skin quality. You can refer to this video about it - ua-cam.com/video/YTTb3ydq550/v-deo.html

Hi Marlene, I assumed lower eyelid surgery since you were commenting on the video about it. My advice still remains the same about following up with your surgeon as I can't assess your situation without an examination, and details about your surgery. I usually don't see issues with bruising this long after surgery. I hope this helps you.
Hello doctor Can lower droopy eyelid resolve on it's own without surgery? Actually I had issue of tightness in my right eye. So for that I went to the doctor but after few days my eyes got red and this redness went for 2-2.5 months. After that my lower eyelid of right eye drooped and it's been 6 months that my eyelid is drooping. I think the eyelid drooped after conjunctivitis. But now I am worried as it's been 6 months and the eyelid is still droopy. Is it because of muscle weakness or conjunctivitis??
Hi Shreya, It's unclear if you had treatment done by your doctor, but regardless I would have to examine your eye area to determine the cause before recommending specific treatments. Hi SUMIT MALIK, Sorry to hear about your problem. I'm not aware of how your surgery was performed, so I suggest you follow up with your surgeon first who knows the details of your surgery, and your anatomy. I'm sorry but I only practice medicine in the US. I suggest you see your surgeon first to examine your eyelids, and to explain what may have happened. I hope this helps you.
If someone is really leary, can just one eye be done at a time? What procedures are in place to ensure that the surgeon's hand doesn't slip and accidentally cut the patient's eyeball?
Hi Jax Cover, Having one eyelid done at a time will end up costing you more due to double the anesthesia, more operating room time, support staff, additional time for the surgeon, etc. The risks of lower eyelid surgery are minimized by the expertise and experience of the surgeon; and the surgeon is covered by malpractice insurance in the unlikely event of patient injury. Actually injuring the eyeball is remote, and it hasn't happened in my 26 years of practice. You can refer to this video about the more common risks of lower eyelid surgery, and how they are minimized and avoided - ua-cam.com/video/wT9mSBvAlno/v-deo.html

Dr, How much length in cm is considered to be small -medium length forehead in females?? Dr, how much length is considered to be above medium length forehead in females??!
Hi Valsala m, There is no such length that applies to everyone as heads are different sizes, so the forehead relative to the whole head and hairline would differ with individuals. You can be examined if this bothers you to see the ratio of your forehead relative to the dimensions of your face. I hope this helps you.
Hi @@valsala438, The face would be divided into 3 parts, and balanced between them: the upper third with the forehead, the middle third with the eyes and cheeks, and the lower third with the mouth and chin. I hope this clarifies things for you.
my left upper eyelid has more fat that's why it appears shorter than other in videos and pictures. I unconsciously raise my right eyebrow which adds to asymmetry. How should i get to know if i need a surgery or not?
Hi Komal Tahir, An examination is needed to determine if you need surgery. The upper eyelid can droop because of fat or another type of volume pushing it down, often with a combination of stretched skin, or because of a weakened or stretched eyelid muscle. While an experienced cosmetic or plastic surgeon can address the fat and skin, only oculoplastic/oculofacial surgeons can address the muscle causing drooping called eyelid ptosis. With eye bags due to prolapsed orbital fat, I only perform transconjunctival blepharoplasty, which involves no external incision in the lower eyelid for visible scarring and potential damage to lower eyelid support structures; and insist on no lower eyelid skin removal to treat wrinkles, as this can cause skin shortage that will pull down the lower eyelids. Under eye wrinkles can be treated non-surgically to improve skin quality. I hope this clarifies things for you.

what type of treatment would you use to improve skin quality and introduce some skin tightness for meduim to dark brown skin? since co2 laser might not be ideal

Good morning Doctor, I had surgery on my upper eyelid not lower eyerlid. God bless you Marlene Geneva Switzerland
Hi Marlene,
I assumed lower eyelid surgery since you were commenting on the video about it. My advice still remains the same about following up with your surgeon as I can't assess your situation without an examination, and details about your surgery. I usually don't see issues with bruising this long after surgery. I hope this helps you.
Hello doctor
Can lower droopy eyelid resolve on it's own without surgery? Actually I had issue of tightness in my right eye. So for that I went to the doctor but after few days my eyes got red and this redness went for 2-2.5 months. After that my lower eyelid of right eye drooped and it's been 6 months that my eyelid is drooping. I think the eyelid drooped after conjunctivitis. But now I am worried as it's been 6 months and the eyelid is still droopy. Is it because of muscle weakness or conjunctivitis??
Hi Shreya,
It's unclear if you had treatment done by your doctor, but regardless I would have to examine your eye area to determine the cause before recommending specific treatments. You can refer to these videos about the different ways of repairing lower eyelid droop:

Hi Gloria Golemboski,
Filler is possible for slight cases of eye bags, but it can't be done in all cases, and filler does require periodic maintenance. You can refer to this video about it - ua-cam.com/video/yszpZSOEGoQ/v-deo.html

Hi Marlene Wyngaard,
There shouldn't be bruising this long after your lower eyelid surgery. I suggest you follow up with your surgeon about possible issues. I can't speculate without an examination, and details about your surgery. I hope this helps you.
Sir,
I underwent transconjuctival blephroplasty 3 months ago.
I feel I have lost the correct shape of my right eye.
Is it possible to lose shape through the above mentioned surgery ?
I am satisfied with the result.
What should I do now?
How can I submit the photos ?

If someone is really leary, can just one eye be done at a time? What procedures are in place to ensure that the surgeon's hand doesn't slip and accidentally cut the patient's eyeball?
Hi Jax Cover,
Having one eyelid done at a time will end up costing you more due to double the anesthesia, more operating room time, support staff, additional time for the surgeon, etc.

Hi Valsala m,
There is no such length that applies to everyone as heads are different sizes, so the forehead relative to the whole head and hairline would differ with individuals. You can be examined if this bothers you to see the ratio of your forehead relative to the dimensions of your face. I hope this helps you.
@@AmiyaPrasadMD Dr.....is there any relative ratio or %between forehead n face
Hi @@valsala438,
The face would be divided into 3 parts, and balanced between them: the upper third with the forehead, the middle third with the eyes and cheeks, and the lower third with the mouth and chin. I hope this clarifies things for you.
my left upper eyelid has more fat that's why it appears shorter than other in videos and pictures. I unconsciously raise my right eyebrow which adds to asymmetry. How should i get to know if i need a surgery or not?
Hi Komal Tahir,
An examination is needed to determine if you need surgery. You can refer to this video about it - ua-cam.com/video/kmGDyy0X-y0/v-deo.html

Hi Mellisuga Helenae,
While I don't perform thread lifts as they only lift the skin, and not the underlying tissue, I do perform filler treatment for the upper eyelid and sub-brow area, which may occur from patients having a previous surgery performed elsewhere. You can refer to these videos about it:

Hi Saabi,
Sorry to hear about your problem. It's not clear if it's due to temporary swelling from healing, or if there is residual fat. I suggest you first see your surgeon to diagnose it, and they may have a revision policy in place. If not, you need to see another doctor for a second opinion. Does the benefit of the CO2 laser have long lasting effects? Does it need to be repeated?
Hi Sky Lark,
While the benefits of laser treatment do last, you may require more than one treatment session to get desired results, along with other collagen induction therapies like PRP. Hi doctor, is it required that oculo facial plastic surgeon should do the eyebag removal? Or is it ok if plastic surgeon only? Thanks

Not necessarily, but there is a specialized technique for eye bag removal that involves no external incision, and no scar, which is less prone to complications, but isn't performed by most general plastic surgeons. You can refer to this video about it - ua-cam.com/video/YTTb3ydq550/v-deo.html
