Man it never gets old watching an A-10 assist teammates with direct CAS
Never gets old but I was kinda disappointed with the way he played the A-10. It’s a close air support plane and he kept it as far away from the battle field as possible through out the matches. He really let down the A-10 close quarters ability’s today.

@@blacktrident5312 The whole reason why he's flying it so far out and carefully is because in modern air combat you really have no use for a gun that needs to to fly fast in a straight line to do arguably minimal damage to anything armored. You're a huge target, and slow to boot, and the platform the gun is fired from is anything but stable. In the imaginative battlefield it's a fun and amazing plane, but in real life the big BRRRRT is overrated and largely useless as anything but a suppressing weapon on unarmored positions that are not defended by any AA. With the proliferation of Manpads and very capable, mobile batteries, it is difficult to design an attack plane that can loiter near a battlefield and provide CAS on demand. In most cases there's simply too much shooting back at you to be worth it. Yes the pilot is in an armored tub but it's not a magic barrier.
Don't quote me on this but I believe the A-10 has more friendly fire kills than actual confirmed enemy units.

I suggest a look at the newer dardo, the one with the 25mm gun. Maybe you could look at the one with the 30mm bushmaster and see how it compares with the old one?

Phly, the reason your blowout panels did not, well... Blow out, is because you carried heat shells. If you carry any shells that have an explosive filler IE: any round that is not APFSDS, then the blowout panels will not work. I don't know if that's historically accurate or not, but then again we are dealing with the mighty snail here.

I Find that, at least on the A4N anyway, the Mavericks dont "target lock" until about 5km from the target. you can target a spot at any range but tracking is a different story
What exactly is going on with those missiles, anyway? It seems like he points them in the area of... a heat signature? ...and they then lock on and track on their own?
@@sandwiched yes. you dont have to keep your nose on target for the missile guidance to work. so im assuming its the missile itself is the tracking so what you said is more than likely accurate.

Just an FYI but the blowout panels on the abrams only work if 2 conditions are met. The ammo stowage door that protects the crew hasn't been damaged. Second condition being that if you're carry heat shells and a round detonates inside your ammo stoawage then you're basically fucked.
So really the only way the blowout panels work is if you're exclusively carrying APFSDS.
