  • The 1.6 HDI DV6 Engine is fitted in loads of Peugeot and Citroen cars with a very similar engine fitted in Ford cars. They have a tendency for turbo failure and big end failure all due to blocked oil pick ups. This video shows you how to check this and prevent it.

    I have a 2014 ford tourneo courier 1.6tdci , regular oil changes are a must, for me every 6000 miles.

    Turbos do not have oil “seals” matey they have piston rings on the shaft. There is no seal to “blow out”.
    Mechanics never use chisels to remove a sump unless replacing it, if you look around it there are rectangular faces on the block to use to gently pry the sump off.
