I grew up in Meilen and remember those times very well. Also the smell of rubber from the RABDe 12/12 Brakes. The acceleration was terriffic 👍🏻 Thanks for that great Video 😁
Thank you, it is indeed quite rare to see footage of the old route via Letten in operation - these days one hears mostly of its sordid state in the late '90s - spent a lot of time in Switzerland in summer '81 and saw the Mirage units at Zürich HB but didn't take advantage because the zonal fare system wasn't yet in operation, so one couldn't just hop on any train and explore so easily - as I said on another of your videos, I did experience the old style of access across the tracks at Flüelen that same year - good to see that in these scenes - thanks again \m/
What a fascinating video. It amazes me that people could just cross the track like that. I wonder how many women caught a heel doing that? Hilariously, the control centre at the end looks like the one at the Bakerloo line service control centre in London when I was there about 15 years ago.
What a fascinating video. It's a shame when branch lines close. I cannot believe people just used to cross tracks like that. I wonder how many women caught a heel in them? Hilariously, the control centre at the end looks very similar to the service control centre for the Bakerloo line in London when I was there about 15 years ago.

A interesting video into the past. Thank you. 😊
Thank you very much! Great footage!
I learned some years ago some early scenes in The Cassandra Crossing were filmed around Berne Basel Lausanne Zurich and Dornach Arlesheim.
