- Beatles author Ken Womack returns to tell us about his two upcoming books on Beatles roadie/loyal friend Mal Evans. We discuss Mal’s life from his childhood to when he started writing his diaries, when he first met and started working with the Beatles, his importance and contributions to the band which continued into their solo-careers, working with Badfinger, his later ambitions, and more! Ken is always a delightful guest, and we can’t wait to start digging into these two books, the first of which is projected for release around Father’s Day, 2023!

Great show Ken.
Thank you both of you. This was such an interesting episode.
Great chat between the two Kens! There’s so much to learn from these two books!!
Great😊😊
Another fine interview, put me down for a copy of each book!!!
This is gonna be a great book!
Great interview, thank you for sharing. Greetings from Toronto !
This was so good! Really enjoyed the interview. Can't wait to read the books.
FYI - I bought Mal's house in Sunbury on Thames from Lily Evans a few years ago and also have some stories
In the Get Back documentary, there is a 2 second- scene where we see and hear Ringo asking Mal if he still has "those ...pills". I wonder what kind they were. L O L. Another aspect of Mal s role. Hunter Davies also mentions that role bur very diplomatically in his bio of The Beatles.
Great interview; thanks for sharing! Can’t wait to read the Mal Evans book!
Thanks so much! Ken Womack is always a great interview. Hope to have him on as each of Mal's books come out!
Love the two Kens! Womack is a really good writer. His Lennon 80 book was one of the best Lennon books I've ever read.
NEW BOOK *'LIVING THE BEATLES LEGEND-THE MAL EVANS STORY'* by Ken Womack
(I speak spanish) Please ask to Ken Womak if he'll make his book version in spanish
How about Paul’s solo on Taxman or his bass on Something etc and Paul doesn’t get credit on it. Paul gave 1000% to all their songs.
Ken Michaels asked good questions but Womack NEVER answered them (giving generic responses). Also, when somebody doesn't know answers, they say "y'know". Womack said y'know after each question. Maybe his book will be good but judging by this interview, who knows.
I spotted that....I'd ask for my money back
"yes, I think we find that out... as much as it is possible too"
If it's anything like John Lennon 1980, it definitely won't be a good book.
I hope she writes the terrible paycheck he recibe from his supose Friends the beatles
33:00 "It's the song!" No it isn't. The acoustic guitar motif is great but it's not "the song". What nonsense.
No, but it was an important part of the arrangement of the song. If you check most artists covering
"And I Love Her" they include that 4-note motif. It still would be a great song without it, but it also made it a better arrangement, I believe.
