@PANTIME The DRC says Mongolia is a part of China though. It's a weird political loop. If they give up their claim on Mongolia, it means they give up their claim on mainland China. I forget why, but it's leading to an awkward situation with Mongolia. I think the DRC also claims some place in Kyrgyztan.

It's the end goal of socialism which can only be reached on e there is enough resources for everyones needs. Socialism is workers ownership of the means of production. In China they have neither. Either they have state companies that exploit them or normal imperialist companies from the US and Europe that exploit them. Just because a country calls it something doesn't mean they are something. That's not hard to understand so the reason Americans think they are communists is just because they don't know the definition of communism and even if they called them socialist they wouldn't be right either. The only good thing with China is that it challenges US imperialism through Chinese imperialism.

That would not really change anything, and might add more complications. According to both, there is only one China; the argument is who rules it. Recognizing both means believing there are two Chinas, which neither Beijing nor Taipei would accept (especially now; China is economically brutal to those who hint at accepting Taiwan). Full diplomatic relations with one would have to include reduced relations with the other.
As for not recognizing their territorial claim to the third largest territory on the planet, this literally cannot happen. If they don’t own it, who does? Any answer other than “China” would anger and confuse 1/6th of the world’s population and run the risk of reviving the anti-colonialism akin to the last days of the empire. And that, no one needs nowadays.

@@bobs_toys technically, Taiwan hasn’t accepted it because the two political blocs argue over Chinese nationalism (which recognizes Taipei as the capital of all China) and Taiwanese nationalism (which recognizes Taiwan as independent from China altogether).
Another more serious block to Winter Nova’s plan (and one a lot of people forget) is what not recognizing the PRC means for Tibet. Since it was taken specifically by the PRC, does recognizing the ROC also mean recognizing the old Tibetan government? I’m not sure I agree with your interpretation of what he was saying, since a lot of countries already argue about who owns the territories you mentioned; it wouldn’t really change anything. But all of these competing claims explains China’s attitude towards changes in opinion on the matter. Hence why they’re always upset.
