Hi Roland, could you please share final settings for Cell OV Alarm, Cell OV Protection, Cell OV Release, Balance Threshold, and Pack Full charge Voltage. Will greatly appreciate it.

Hi, after my cells have balanced until almost to the last millivolt, I have only adjusted the Balance Threshold a bit.
      The final settings are:
      Cell OV Alarm 3.48V
      Cell OV Protection 3.55V
      Cell OV Release 3.39V
      Balance Threshold 3.45V
Pack Full charge Voltage 51.40V (15S pack)
These values will keep an generally balance pack in good condition unless there is of course a serious problem with a cell.
      Greetings

@@RolandW_DIYEnergyandMore thank you for taking the time to respond, will use these settings and see how my pack behaves. It's going out of balance with poor factory settings.

Roland, suggestion; use a mouse cursor highlighting tool so it is easier to follow along with what you are referring to. You can also change the appearance of the mouse cursor in Mouse Properties, Control Panel in WIndows OS.

When I have that problem I watch where the total pack voltage is when the alarm for the single cell goes off then I reduce the whole pack voltage to what is was when alarm went off but leave all the single cell at the desired voltage that way the pack is never over voltage and when the low cell catches up in a few days I reset the total pack voltage.

Hi Roland , I have downloaded a few versions on the pbms tools software but none of them show the Inverter Protocol or the inverter Set Functions . How do I configure the protocol? Thank You

Hi. I am not sure what you are looking for exactly, but as far I understand, PBms Tools is only there to access the battery BMS. Is it required for you to look for a specific protocol to communicate between the battery and the inverter? Because the typical inverter will just use standard CAN protocol.

Hi Roland thanks for your quick response! , Each inverter and Battery have a list of protocols via CAN and Other to choose from , I find that when I open the software( at this stage I have downloaded a number of different versions of the PBMS Tools Software) it doesn't give me the option to choose the protocol or tell me which protocol its using , so I cannot get communication with my inverter. I have watched many YT videos and it works for everyone else! I made note of the Software Version and downloaded it , but for me these do not appear on the software. I have found that in the tab "System Config" it gives me options to tell it for example, Pylon , Auto or Manual, but I'm not sure if I should be using this function though?

@@Al-ix3vc what type of inverter and battery do you have? I will take a look. i remember i have seen something on the Off-grid Garage channel once.
On my system with the Deye Hybrid it was only necessary to set the communication address to Zero and it worked straight away. Most inverters work on that channel. Only some brands like Victron, etc require to use for example Pylontech protocol if i recall correctly

Hi Roland , I managed to find the software, it showed that the protocol was "paceic" but when I tried changing it it said "Write Fault" So I'm back to the start again! My inverter is a MPP Solar 5048MGX and my batteries are Chinese brand Sunwise, but both have Pace 48V 150A 15S BMS . Thank You@@RolandW_DIYEnergyandMore

      @@Al-ix3vc I have found this video: ua-cam.com/video/A8nXija8wlc/v-deo.htmlsi=CWmU4IWH_OXgye9m
Here Alex from Off-Grid Garage says that PBms can set the protocol, and Alex he actually says that you can only set the protocol there. Thats obviously not right as I did change my parameters with PBms Tools. Anyways, he says it is only working with the RS232 port... hope you can solve your problem
