Enjoy Stunning New England Scenery on a Hunt for Dolls to Restore with Ruby Sue

- Welcome to beautiful New England the North East of the United States. We are taking a road trip to find some dolls that will need to be restored and joining us is Ruby Sue, a vintage Ideal Toni doll and Evie our chihuahua who you may have seen in some of our shorts. We travel along the roads of Vermont and New Hampshire passing through the stunning Franconia Notch in New Hampshire. And along the way we stop at few thrift and antique stores looking for our next doll restoration project. Spoiler, we find one! If you have never been to this part of our country this is a small glimpse into the beauty it has to offer. A great treat on our trip was visiting Kellerhaus, a store that makes their own ice cream and chocolates. We even drive through a real covered bridge in New Hampshire. Yes, Evie was really in the American Girl car, she loves to drive Ruby Sue where ever she wants to go.
At our channel @DIYDollArtist we repair and restore broken, sometimes dirty, neglected dolls and toys. We want to teach you some of the techniques so that you can repair your doll, and have confidence doing it. The restoration of these vintage dolls can come in many different ways, some we find at shops, some are found and given to us to restore, and some just need a little love. Wonderful day out and beautiful scenery. I love visiting interesting shops. We were lucky and got to visit New England a couple of years ago in the fall. It was gorgeous then too even if a little rainy. Hope you will take us on another journey in the fall on a sunny day. Love seeing your dolls and all the adorable props and settings you put them in. Thanks for a great adventure.
we are so happy you enjoyed the scenery! Thank you for joining us on our road trip .It’s great that you got to visit here a couple of years ago. I wish it hadn’t rained🙁. we will try to in the fall but not alway do we have the color showed in photos. what kind of fall we have depends on what kind of spring and summer we have. I always feel sorry for people that come for the color. sometimes it’s earlier than normal or later or even not much of anything. There is no way to predict whether it will be a great fall color or lousy🤔. we are really happy you enjoy the little scenes because that’s why we do them.🥰

so happy you liked the road trip! the little doll I got for myself was the way I was dressed as a little girl and I was lucky that my daughter s loved it when I dressed them that way too. Ruby Sue was a gift from a very dear friend . so she had become are mascot . you’re right we would be in a pickle if we really relied on her for help. but we know that there are a lot of people that really enjoy her. so she has her work cut out for her. she needs to keep being cute and so does Evie.😂🥰❤️

SO HAPPY you found a sweet little Ginny doll. I have several Ginnys that were my mom's, and have found all kinds of Vogue clothes for her. Your Ginny is a really old one, too. I can tell because of her eye color. She looks like she's in GREAT SHAPE. I can't wait to see you clean her up. I would have snagged those Little Women babies right away, and I'm not a Madame Alexander fan.
I also have a Patsy and Nancy doll with trunks and clothes that were my grandmothers. They are fun to dress!

I am so happy you enjoyed the video! We wanted to share the beauty of where we live with our viewers who are all over the world. That is a funny thought to have viewers all over the world. I am not sure if we will do any more videos like this it depends on if the viewers liked it. We have covered bridges were we live but not many of them are still used. This one was a complete surprise as we were following the GPS to a store we had never been to before. What a treat! The Ginny is one of the older ones and she is complete with root beer eyes. We were not expecting to find a doll like her but you never know what you will find.When I was a girl I dreamed of having clothes for my dolls. I had one Ginny who I still have but she only had the outfit she came in. I suppose that is why I love finding accessories for them, old or new. Thank you so much for the support it means so much. You brighten our day when we read your comments.🥰

You are so welcome, I am very happy you enjoyed it. The backgrounds are from American Girl Doll Co. I believe they are all retired but you can find them on eBay sometimes. The ones you see the most are single backgrounds but we also have the Scenes And Settings they had many years ago for some of the historical dolls like Samantha. Those had several backgrounds and it opened up like a book. My daughter is the photographer and she has been using those backgrounds to take pictures of our chihuahuas and friends and family’s kittens for many years. Now she has the dolls to inspire her.🥰
